The Chagrin Post office gets a lot of bad reviews, but in my experience, it's the customers that cause the most challenges. I only go in the post office a few times per year, as I usually use the USPS services they provide online to order stamps and print shipping labels. But every time I have ever been in this post office, the staff has been helpful and friendly. The challenges I have seen for efficiency have all been customers. I was behind a 40ish customer who didn't know which corner of the envelope gets the stamp, and watching customers get angry about customs declarations is common. We are fortunate to have a very competent postal carrier. However, when we have a substitute, watch out! Today, there was a piece of certified mail addressed to someone at a different address. Appeared to be a court summons. I looked up tracking number on my phone and carrier had indicated that it was delivered personally to individual. I don't know how carrier could do this if no one signed. My husband took the certified mail back to post office. I called and told manager (Tasha). She didn't seem to care. read more

I must say that I absolutely adore my personal mailman.... but when I go to the post office, I'm just another person occupying space. Exterior/Location: Independent building on Washington Street Interior: Could use renovation. Older and dated Vibe/Ambiance: None. Most people are annoyed here because they are waiting line with someones creaming kid. Staff: Postal... do I need to say more. This customer service would never be tolorated anywhere else. Sadly, a no-star rating isn't an option. I rarely, if ever, write reviews, but I'm so very tired of the apathetic excuse of a post office in Chagrin Falls. Most recently, some mail to our very active, long-standing PO Box has been returned to the sender, indicating a vacancy. There hasn't been a vacancy with that PO Box since 1999 so what is going on? Don't try to call their posted local number (440) 247-9706 as it's not working today and there have been other complaints indicating the same. For fun, call the (800) 275-8777 and try to speak with a real person...no such luck! Try to register a complaint...again, no deal! This location really needs a strategic audit and retooling as it is failing many many residents (and those that are forced to go here by virtue of closing the local post office in Bainbridge)! read more

Went online and had my mail held while I was on vacation. Got home and discovered 10 days of mail strewn all over the street. With lots of rain and snow while I was away. Unfortunately this is not an isolated incident. All the postmaster could do was apologize. Very frustrating! read more

When I told him I needed 300 stamps, he thoughtfully suggested that if they are for invitations that I should bring one in to get weighed just to make sure I am spending wisely. read more

wow no kidding they have a 1.5 review rating. Clearly they do not care about it either to try to improve. I work in customer service myself and I know it can be tough but I just encountered the most unpleasant human being alive. His name was Dan, my packaged was delivered to the wrong address and I was trying to find out where and why it was changed without giving me notice. He would just talk over me and said that he doesn't know if it was sent back to the seller or to the other address. Point of the store is, he was absolutely 0 help, its baffling that they lose a package and just tell you to call the seller because he doesn't know if it was sent back to them or not. Ridiculously bad customer service. Last Saturday our letter carrier left a note in our mailbox advising us that there was a hornet's nest under our front walk. Claimed he had been stung. No mail delivered for five days. When I called to inquire, I was told that "mail is held when there is a 'danger' to the carrier." My response was, "Well, perhaps the customer should be ADVISED when their mail is being held, and provided with a mechanism for restarting the mail." read more

Lazy carriers, rude office workers, lost mail. That's pretty much expected anymore. On top of that, I got charged $40 postage due for them to release a large flat RATE box mailed TO me because it wasn't flat in shape. I tried to show them a print out from the usps website that said "flat is for price, not for shape. Bulges are not a problem"....and the teller laughed at me. "Do you want it or not?" On top of that, it was an electronically printed label from a stamps.com account, which is part of the APV system, so they are double charging. The manager said "I know the rules, I work here". Oh ok. Try again. This is the WORST post office. read more

This is by far the worst post office I've had the displeasure of needing. I'll start by saying here, that I have shipped well over 3,000 packages as I make products and ship them all over the world. Now, I've seen the lineup of employees over a course of 4 years or so, in all that time only one post worker was pleasant and friendly enough to make you feel like you're not asking stupid questions all the time. I understand a government job isn't a carnival of excitement and the pay isn't fantastic, but the attitudes and bullheadedness of every employee was risen to new heights in my experience here. I had to fight this office to send my products once, let me tell you here, it's quite a story. The products I needed to ship hundreds of at once are credit card sized and shaped tools, they fit nicely in a 6"x 6" flat sturdy Kraft paper envelope. It's most excellent due to the fact that by USPS rules and standards, they ARE letter sized. The dimensions are defined and easy to recognize. I went ahead and packaged these all economically in letter sized envelopes, spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on postage. I then hiked up to the post office and they immediately say that I can't ship these as letters... "they're parcel size". I had printed a page with the size regulations and pointed out to them that they are well within the size of a letter, and are treated as such BY THIER OWN RULES. Because the envelopes are cardboard-like material they believed it could not be a letter...I pointed out to them that they just require to be charged a small fee that comes with inflexible envelopes, [sad when I knew more about the postal system then they did]. The facts laid out bare and plain failed to sway anybody present, even the post master... Needless to say I was properly miffed, these people were so bitter at their job that they could not take the time to understand fact. In retaliation I sent a sample package to our local USPS weights and measures department and had them define what my packages were...I waited patiently for a week and received my package and a letter back stating: what I'm trying to ship are indeed defined as LETTERS! Of course I already knew this, but the best part is they left in a wonderful clause saying that if I ran into any trouble they would call these post offices on my behalf to tell them to accept my packages! Side note: I took these letters to a different post office in Solon and the woman threatened to get the authorities involved because she also believed them to be parcels (not letters) and "if you send these, that is a felony" type reaction. Anyway I showed them the letter from the weights and measures department, and they folded immediately. I gotta say that was one of the most satisfying semantic battles won in my favor so far. I keep the letter in a file and have it ready should the need arise again! Anyway story over, but the lesson is that this place is for terrible grumpy post office workers who have nothing better to do than be asshats. Don't go here! read more

I'm not one to post reviews, but read them often. I have to say enough is enough with the Chagrin Falls Post office. I constantly get other peoples' mail delivered to my address!! Literally every week I get one of my neighbors mail. I've called to complained about the issue and nothing has changed!!! I understand a mistake can happen time to time, but the amount of wrong mail I get is outrageous. I even spoke to my person carrier politely, and the person said the mail is "pre-sorted" and placed in order by a machine. Like others have said, I've been to the location as well, and it is horrible! The staff is rude and they have done nothing to resolve the issues. read more

The Chagrin Falls Post office has opened up late many times.Ten minutes late is not uncommon.I have had to knock on the door on different dates.When I do a very large male employee gets very angry and yells at me from the other side of the door and( still does not come to open the door right away)!!! I have also experienced lost mail,getting someone else's mail, insane over charges, slow moving lines & employees at the Chagrin Falls Post Office. Rumor has it that the decline in the Chagrin Falls Post Office started when they placed employees from downtown Cleveland to the Chagrin Falls Post Office.Why do these employees have such negative attitudes?Do they not appreciate their positions?There are so many local people that need,want and would dearly appreciate these positions.And we all know a certain type of politics plays a major roll in the not hiring of local people. read more

The Chagrin Falls post office is a joke. After going on vacation and filling out all the proper paperwork, I came home to find my federal tax return and my neighbors sitting in a box full of water from a weeks worth of rain. Last week I got 2 of my neighbors credit card statements. And today I received my March bank statement that no one could find at the post office. The clerks are rude and the postmaster acts like there are no problems. Someone needs to hold these people accountable. read more
