It's fine. I've never had any issues here. It's a Post Office and it really all depends on the staff that is there on the day that you show up. One day I went in and everything was so seamless, quick and efficient and the staff were all smiles. I left feeling elated. I have used this post office many times over the years. I come in with prepaid packages as well as for mailing letters, buying stamps, help with shipping and mailing options and so much more. I usually wait on line and see a clerk for assistance when my prepaid is not small enough to drop off in the window or if I need some other assistance. I always have had a great experience. The supervisor there is also a gem. She is very friendly and helpful. People usually write reviews when they are upset about something but I always feel it's important to review when experiences are very good too. read more

I have called this location a few times and they are not the most responsive. I don't even think their phone number that is listed actually works. I went today to mail the package and the teller was on her phone and writing a personal shopping list. She was quick (but, I was also the only person on the line) in processing my postage. Terrible customer service at this location. All employees are very rude like savages. One of them kept yelling at me. I think she forgot that she is getting paid from our taxed money. All of them should be fired and replaced. I waited an hour for a passport appointment with two babies in burning hot day even with an appointment. And she is suggesting me to come back another day for walk in passport services when they can't even handle appointment option. Smh read more

I wish I got the name of the clerk that assisted me today. She was incredibly rude. She was sighing and giving me an attitude because she didn't like that I got in line to hand her a prepaid package. She said I should just drop it in the mailing boxes. She did not notice I had another package I wanted to mail. When she didn't want to accept it because it was damaged, she handed me over a Flat Rate envelope and claimed it was free. Yes, it was my fault that my package got damaged along the way but it is definitely not free to ship any package. I did not appreciate her service at all. read more

This is the worst usps by far they have this specific employee I who is Asian woman and she is the nastiest ever she is very arrogant and she set her own rules she won't scan any item if it doesn't follow her standards and the way she talk is very condescending. Makes you feel like you stupid person. Is there a way to file a report for this kind of attitude? They were supposed to serve people not sit on the air-conditioned facility and fell pretty. There is also a young clerk who stays usually at the drop box window. Considering this PO is one of the more active ones in the neighborhood, I think it would benefit both the community AND the PO itself to maybe expand a little. The place is TINY, and on an average weekday the line (one stinking line) is RIDICULOUS, twisting around itself into corners and out the door entirely. It would probably move a hell of a lot faster if they had more than one or two tellers behind the counter at once. The place has up to FIVE windows, not including the side one for stamps, and yet they're never all used at once. Ever. I've only ever seen two tellers at the most, and they were taking their bloody time. I've waited for hours on that freaking line just to mail a single package, and they don't bother to have extra employees available on days they know are busy (like Friday afternoons and days before holidays). The one thing I like about that location is the Asian penguin lady. I call her the penguin lady because she's got all things penguin decorating up her teller window. It's kinda cute. She's really sweet and nice, and I always hope I get her by luck when I show up. Unfortunately, there's only one penguin lady. The rest of the employees might as well be robots in comparison. The people that work in this post office are nasty. You ask a question and they respond to you with a nasty response right off the bat. The woman that was helping me gave me a form to fill out but didn't appreciate when I got nasty back with her. Then continued to speak nastily about me behind the window as I was filling the form out. I walked out. Warnings for those attending this US Postal Service location, expect to be standing in line for 40 minutes. The massive amounts of individuals that frequent this location greatly exceed the individuals on staff. Notes on this US Postal Office: - If you can purchase anything online, DO IT! Don't go to the location if you don't have to. - Wait times can vary between 10 to 40 minutes. Bring an iPod or Magazine. - Customers tend to be moody and grouchy. No one has any patience and expects things to be handed to them immediately. - The stamp machine at the most inner part of the establishment is frequently broken. Once again, order stamps online. - DO NOT drop packages off at the drop off bin. Apparently, you need to give it to an attendant (so why is the bin there?). - If you've paid for postage for any large sized package, see the attendant roaming the floor. You can leave it with he/her. - Seriously... Just guestimate the weight and size of your shipping box and buy postage online. You don't need the attendants to do this for you. - Only attend the Post Office if you're renewing your Passport or need to have something sent via Certified Mail. - Best time to go? 7:45am! Wait the 15 minutes until the post office opens. You'll be in and out in 1 minute. Follow the above rules and your experience at this US Postal Office should be great. I went here to apply for a passport... I called ahead of time (about 2 weeks) for an appointment. I left early because I wasn't sure how long it would take to find parking, but it was fast. I went right in and someone helped me within 2 minutes. I had filled out the application and printed a picture beforehand. The whole process start to finish was 13 minutes and my passport arrived 8 days later! read more

It's a small post office like many in Brooklyn. Unfortunately it only has 1 self service station as it would be great if it had at least 2. Also like many post offices, it is crowded during all times of the day, but I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to have something sent out via the teller booths. It's your typical post office and with the Sheepshead Bay branch closed post-Sandy, this is the next closest option in the area. read more

One of the best post offices in NYC - the staff are extremely diligent, kind, and professional.

The staff members are rude and lazy. The employee with the last name Patel simply decided he didn't want to do his job and refused to help. When we were about to leave because he was not giving us the service we deserved, he aggressively shoved all the paperwork through the glass. We also were clearly struggling to hear him through the glass and mask, but he continued to mumble. We went to a different post office and got everything done within 5 minutes. Horrible service!!! Impolite, condescending, rude, absolutely no knowledge of their work! Horrible, horrible, horrible staff, especially girl with red hair, refused to give her name, she was racist and extremely rude! Other staff tried to excuse her behavior and back her up. Unbelievable how poor quality personnel are working at this location. May be that's the reason this postal office is empty, people don't want to go there and deal with nonsense. However, another postal office on Sheepshead bay located at 2628 East 18th street was able to help us with no issues! Thanks God! I think anyone giving this place two stars and up is being way too generous. Every single time I come to this post office location, my blood pressure goes up because of the lack of organization. People constantly cut each other in line causing cat fights, there is not enough clerks working during the busiest times at day, how do you have only two clerks for 20 people in line?!. It makes me mad that they don't have a separate window for passport appointments, those take forever to do so it makes the wait time even longer. I also despise the fact that the window for parcels is always full so I can't fit my package in, I have to scream at an employee to empty it. A lot of supplies are out of stock like certified mail cards, priority mail flat rate boxes [it is a MIRACLE if you find a large size, all I can find are small or medium to shove my stuff in]. I also wasn't able to use shipping tape here because I was required to buy priority mail tape for over 3 dollars, why the hell would I buy that tape if I can just borrow some plain tape for one time use?!, SO STINGY! The pens here are always out of ink too. I also hate the attitude of the employees here, one clerk to the far right is super annoying about folding the certified mail receipt over the dotted line, if its off a tiny bit he throws a fit. The other two employees barely speak English, and the one employee named Elliot who is the sweetest isn't there at all times so with my luck I get stuck with the other clerks. The only thing that saves this post office Is the machines for self service, its super easy to get stamps and generate all sorts of labels, I can't imagine what is was like back in the day without these machines. This post office no longer has a fedex drop box, I remember years ago this was so convenient. If you can find another post office in your neighborhood please do so, otherwise ask for Elliot. read more

My postman, Peter, is fabulous!! He is friendly and always on time. However, the Homecrest Post Office itself seems to be a hot mess. Several times now I've had packages transferred to them from UPS that get lost or come super late. My last package complaint was that I got a notice my package was delivered when it was not and a week later received a notice in my door claiming to be my final notice...I had not received ONE notice before that!! When I've had to go to the office on E. 19th St. I have also been faced with rudeness and inconsiderate employees. If only they could all be like Peter!! read more

Terrible service i feel like i been ripped off. I went with a big box they wanted to charge me $30 that was fine as i was about to pay then lady behind the windows decides to measure the package and then tells me $35. i asked why so much and she said the dimensions of the box. So I took my package home repackaged it and was able to fit the contents in a box half the size of the first box. I go back 15 minutes later to a different window with a box half the size and they still charged me $30. Something is not right read more

Last time I went to the united states postal office on e23rd st ave u , I went with my Grandpa that time it was somewhere in march to send back medicine to China. There's not one thing I like about coming to this post office. There's hardly any parking ever available nearby and there's never the right amount of staff attending to customers. Last time I was there I counted approximately 12 people in line, along with a couple others preparing their mailings off the line, but only 1 person calling people up to the window. i filed a claim on 2/9/15 about a usps truck delivery leaving my package outside my building, the package was stolen, the p.o.said they delivered it, the driver left no tag and did not have the common courtesy to ring the door bell for me to buzz him in, the supv. did cooperate with a follow-up, i was never reimbursed its like throwing someone's mail away which is a offense, the postal service lost my business. read more
