I put my mail on hold for 3 weeks, putting a note that I will pick up the mail myself at the post office. When I came to pick up the worker did not find my correspondence, suggesting that the postman must have put it in my mailbox. Firstly, I noted that I would pick up the mail myself. My vehicle often gets blocked by private vehicles that are Double-parked which belong to the staff, and usually they promptly move them out of the way when called to do so. However this morning, one young lady/staff member was especially nasty and difficult. She felt I had enough space ahead of me to pull-out, however there was another vehicle parked approximately 5-7 feet ahead of me and her rear lights were directly parallel to my rear view mirror. When I demanded to see a supervisor, who pleaded to get the young lady to move the vehicle she purposefully sat inside the car with the driver's side door open and playing on her phone. Naturally I had a few choice words for her at that point, because I felt I was plenty patient and courteous given the fact that I would now be late for work. If that sort of behavior is tolerated in that place of work, I feel sorry for the decent people working there. read more

Happy this place exists- I mostly just drop packages off after paying for shipping online, but happy they are open especially with the nearby post office "temporarily" closed (for almost 2 years now) This drop off/pick up center is open on Saturday when most other usps places are not (we are all working people USPS, why can't you be open any time after usual working hours during the week? Only 9-5? Really?) This place usually starts sending your packages out for shipping1-3 business days after you drop them off. I don't have experience picking up packages, and the building could use a face lift, but it works for what I need. Thanks for being open! read more

The people who work here are incompetent and rude. Several times, I requested a call back (from USPS mainline) and no one calls. The phone line for this post office doesn't even work. The single window clerk at this dingy location is rude and unprofessional. I asked to speak to someone because several times I asked for redelivery and nothing happened. Instead, she has ignored me and was like, "That's not my problem".  Why offer the option to redeliver if you don't do it. I also love that their policy of asking for ID is up to the discretion of the clerk. I guess only sketchy people are asked for ID when picking up their package. read more

Wow, Yelp wants an update? Same old crap! Package not delivered on Monday, although other packages left on inside lobby windowsill that day as per custom in our building (media mail, no signature needed). A 'redelivery' slip was left, which I filled out and left in mailbox, also with a post-it note saying to redeliver. This post-it remained in the box after Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday deliveries, despite other mail being left inside for me. The same postal worker who left the slip was not following up on it. So I got home today and saw a different package left on sill, saw the truck at the end of the block, and started to ask about my package. Well, it didn't take long before I was screaming at this imbecile--who admitted he left the slip, but argued when I tried to explain 'redelivery' and that was the whole point of the slip. He repeatedly asked me to let him explain, but all he had to say was 'package at post office'. Two prior packages had been 'for redelivery' which I never saw again, and one was delivered...where? Not my apartment, but 'sorry!. So, I was reticent to go to the Shitshead Bay branch, but I explained nicely (almost...) and sure enough, my package was there, being prepared to be shipped back to the original destination. This post office is horrible. They fabricate lies about making attempted deliveries at your residence when they never actually came. They say; "a delivery was attempted but no authorized recipient available and a notice left." No attempted deliveries was made, I was home with 2 other people and no one knocked or rang the bell, and also, no notice was left. I tried to get the packages redeliver on-line and the mail carrier never came. The people that work there should be fired. They also loose a lot of packages. A friend told me that the postal workers from this post office steal them and that's why they get lost. There needs to be an investigation to this post office. read more

This is the WORST POST STATION!!!! Don't expect to receive any of your packages. They won't even attempt to ring your doorbell but if you were to check the status of your package, it'll say deliver attempted. Expect to wait on a long line when you go to pick up your package, sometimes out the door. read more

No reviews? Not really a surprise, I guess. Second time here in years to pick up a USPS parcel. The woman at the front desk is very kind and sweet, though she has given me someone else's order, so I had to go a second time. Granted, it was also my fault for not checking if the mail's mine. The first time I arrived, no one was on line. When I returned, however, I had to wait perhaps 10 minutes for one person before it was my turn to sort out the mess. Thankfully, second time's a charm, and the business was done in seconds. Overall, not the BEST service since you can tell by the looks on people's faces that they don't wanna be there. However, the ladies there are cool people, so just be patient and generous like I was, and you'll leave happily with your pick-up. read more

They said they attempted delivery but I was home the whole day and no one stopped by. Not even a USPS truck passed by my place since my blinds were open as I was expecting a package. It was snowing hard that day so I shall excuse that. I don't know why they had to lie and say they attempted to deliver my package and left a notice when they did neither of those things at all. I scheduled redelivery twice and my package did not arrive at all, forcing me to go to the post office myself. I read the negative reviews of this location beforehand, so I expected my experience there to be abysmal. I arrived on a Monday morning around 11am. There was only one person in front of me who quickly left. Proof of identification and tracking number is required to pick up the package. Thankfully, the person was able to find my package and I was able to leave within 5 minutes. There were reviews of people in that location stealing and losing packages. While I was able to receive mine, my package was opened up. Thankfully, it was only a shirt. Reschedule delivery my ass, just go pick yours up because you'll be wasting time like how I wasted three days. read more

I wish I could give the morons at the Sheepshead Bay Post Office zero stars. This is the worst post office I have ever encountered. Lazy, insolent employees, hiding behind their postal union. Once again, a package was sent to me from Macy's and once again, the mailmoron decided it was simply not going to deliver it. Despite the fact that I work from home, and was indeed home all day on June 14 and 15, no one attempted to deliver the package. In fact, no one even left a notice. I had to go to Macy's themselves, thinking the issue was on their side. Got the tracking number from Macys and lo and behold -- the Sheepshead Bay Post Office forged notifications that my building "has no safe place to leave a package". And claimed to leave a note. This is laughable. First of all, any other time they miraculously decided to deliver a package, the maildope simply fires it at my apartment door as hard as it can, then runs down the hallway. Now it doesn't even do that much. So, I scheduled a redelivery for today. BIG SHOCK -- it is the end of the day and the idiots never redelivered. Apparently the one employee who can read is out today, so no one checked their redelivery orders. Use Fed Ex, use UPS, but whatever you do, don't use this horrible postal service. They lost my package....I went there 4 times with my tracking number, they showed me my package picture that is was scanned for delivery but they cannot find where my package went. I never been this disappointed! They phone number to reach them is out of service and not working. I ordered a package on August 6th to be delivered from one Brooklyn facility to another Brooklyn Facility. Guess what today is August 22 and it says the package was delivered on the 12th to Homecrest usps facility. It's been 10days since then and I still have not received my package or any response from them. I opened an investigation and it's been another 4 days and no response from anyone. I can't even call this terrible facility as the number is out of service !!!! Horrible and disappointing. Will I even get my package, who knows ????? read more

No stars really. Someone from there is stealing my packages and marking them as delivered. I get notifications with tracking numbers and as soon as it says delivered I go to check and NO packages in mailbox. I try to call all the time and phone is always busy or ringing but no one answers. When finally they actually answer, they say they will call you back and they are going to investigate but do nothing and don't call back. Called many times just to get someone to tell me that they cant do nothing about it and that the mail carrier said he delivered to my mailbox and they can't question that. Made a claim online to get my money back and was declined because the package shows as delivered? No packages, No money back. I had to have most of my deliveries sent to work now. read more

This is the 3rd time in 6 months that I've sent packages to a friend of mine in Brooklyn, NY. One was via FEDEX, however, the last two(2) have been by USPS and 'hung up' due to the mail carrier holding back delivery of the package another day or more. Just because Priority Mail says 2-3 days, the carrier should not purposefully hold the package a 3rd or 4th day at their choosing and post a revised delivery date if, in fact, THEY HAD NOT YET ATTEMPTED DELIVERY! If they cannot keep up the quality of work efficiency they are trying to copy from FEDEX, UPS, or other, they really should get out of that part of the business. read more

I'm currently sitting in this hellhole with one rude worker on the desk. I wouldn't have to be here if this place wasn't incompetent because they said my package was undeliverable because it was missing an apartment number. Did it ever occur to these geniuses to just leave it in my lobby. The lady told me she needs to find my package but decided to help other people in front of me. If there were an option for 0 or negative stars that's what I would rate this post office because 1 star is giving way too much credit. Trying to get through on the phone is nearly impossible with only busy signals. Twice I was able to get through and got rude, unprofessional, and incompetent women with horrible attitudes. No one ever knows anything or is able to answer any of your questions and they always ask you to call back to speak to other people so that they won't have to do their job! When you physically go to the post office you're waiting a year and a day to be helped and that's if you're actually helped. I absolutely LOATHE this post office entirely! This post office makes me want to move to another zip code or not ever order online packages again to avoid dealing with nonsense. You have one simple job!
