I literally have no words for this post office! HOLY SHIT! Is pretty much all I can say. I avoid this post office at all costs. Whenever I need to ship/return something, I use the shipping center located by CVS on sheepshead bay road or the shipping store on avenue U. I've been here a total of 3 maybe 4 times to pick up a package that these incompetent idiots failed to deliver and had an issue EVERY.SINGLE.TIME! They don't leave pink slips that they're supposed to but ask for them when coming to pick up your package. Lol I've literally had to threaten and yell at them to get my packages. I tried the nice thing, it doesn't work, they'll be more of an asshole if you're nice. USPS already sucked and This covid situation has made it even worse! Avoid this shithole if you can. It's time to boycott the United States Post Office altogether. They have no shareholders and therefore no accountability and nobody to answer to. Do you think the government cares if your mail arrives? Seriously! It may cost a little more, but if you're sending an important letter NEVER USE ANY POST OFFICE! If you need to send something certified or priority, keep in mind that the more attention the post office has to apply to your package, the better the chances are of it getting lost. These people are completely incompetent and there isn't a single competent employee in the entire United States Post Office system. You will always receive your junk mail because it doesn't require any special attention. If you are mailing requires any kind of personal attention by any employee of the post office, there was almost 100% chance that it will be lost. It is better to send mail that requires absolutely no attention from them at all because if they don't have to pay extra attention to it, then there's a lesser chance that they will lose it. Best to make sure the post office can't pay any attention to it at all and send it with FedEx or UPS. FedEx and UPS have shareholders and quality control Representatives who answer to the shareholders. They have to get your things right or there was actually a price to pay. The post office can intentionally throw out all the mail they want and there isn't a soul in the universe who is going to do anything about it because nobody cares. These monkeys are just here to collect their paycheck and go home to eat their bananas. The post office will pay just for showing up to work. They know that they don't have a single competent employee in the universe. They just pay the employees to make the public think that the post office actually does something. They do something. They deliver your junk mail. The only time I will ever use the post office is when losing a piece of mail is beneficial to me. I may not be a fan but I also do not hate this branch. First of all, it is conveniently located. Not all the clerks on duty even there is line but the max I have waited was 15 minutes. A lot of old people use this branch which slows the process. Or people change their mind to pay less and less when they hear the total. This post office is sad, words can't describe the horrible service, lines are huge, package slips are never left at the door by the delivery guys, yet when you check the status it says note left...it's purely fraudulent service for a cheap price. They lost one of my packages, and the lady at the counter was saying don't worry it'll be delivered, never was. The location is under-staffed, under-trained, the services are useless. Disappointing how important this kind of service can be, and this is what we get. For a public servant job, some of the workers are disrespectful and just plain disgusting. Wow I am not the only one here who is so disappointed with their service! Just like others, I was home all day waiting for delivery, but nobody buzzed the door bell or left a notice, but on the tracking page it said I wasn't home. The next day I wrote a huge note stated "please leave the package in deli on the corner", however it was successfully ignored by delivery man. At least I found a notice in my mailbox. The next morning I waited 40 min in line (only one person was working) just to hear that my package is not there yet. I was so angry about the service, as I never was in my life! This place does not work well at all. No early or late hours. Claims packages were delivered when they were not. Has some of the worst customer service skills around. This post office is the result of mismanagement by the postal service and local government. As usual in NYC, an area has exploded in population but its services haven't and its no different in Sheepshead Bay. This post office just isn't big enough for the population that needs it. So the Post Office @ 2628 E 18St in Brooklyn NY 11235 1. No supplies whatsoever. I was rudely barked at by an off duty teller to stand in line for a half an hour to ask another rude teller for a bubble padded first class envelope, only to be told they don't have it. 2. The manager is a nincompoop who causes more confusion than does good. How about you go through your inventory daily? 3. Passport Service? PAHHHHLEEEAAASE you'll save time by taking a ride to the main post office on 8th and 33 St in Manhattan where you'll be serviced for your passport needs without an appointment as long as you have your paperwork completed. 4. Carriers from this locations routinely lose and misplace mail. In a typical year I had more than three dozen times neighbors bring my mail to my door left in their mailbox. 5. Carriers and for that matter everyone in this facility are lazy. When the package arrives requiring signature the mail carrier would ring your bell to come down to the lobby, otherwise your package will go back to the facility and get lost in their mismanaged twilight zone. 6. Did I say the African American lady teller is a racist? I noticed she would routinely and on purpose hold caucasian clients at her window for prolonged period of time by talking unrelated to her jobs topics to her co-workers or just take a bathroom break in a middle of helping someone out, thus leaving that person standing at the window. 7. The best event that ever happened to this facility, is when it was flooded during hurricane Sandy. USPS provided mobile truck with better service this neighborhood had in ages. If Postal Master ever reads this review, please I suggest to go undercover and witness it for yourself. No wonder USPS is going belly up. Yeah, this is the place that will tell you they either can't find your package, don't have your package, or your package was delivered when you obviously don't have your package. Sure, they'll actually search their place and make sure they don't have your item, but that's all they can do. Forget finding help if your package was delivered to wrong address. They'll also repeatedly ask are you sure you did't get your package because you know if we all got our packages we'd still go here and waste our time, right? They won't be able to answer why your missing package has tracking that says delivered to a non-existent zip code. Always a long line, not just on Saturdays and usually the long line out the door is due to package problems. *Now 2nd package problem in 3 weeks, this time prescriptions were not delivered and tracking says "attempted delivery, notice left." No attempted delivery with people home, no notice. If the meds are damaged or lost this crap is on them again. Asked for redelivery and nothing, medication order now delayed 3 days. They expect people to do their jobs for them and wait on line to get missing mail. Mail order pharmacy had to call them, they of course never answer their phone. read more

A disastrous Post Office. Every employee has an attitude and lines go out the door and around corner. Fights and arguements happen all the time here. 6 customer service windows and only 2 employee's to handle thousands of customers. If you're there just to pick up a package they did not deliver to you, and you have the pink slip for the package, you still have to wait almost an hour or so just to get your package. In the mean time, the window for pickups are never attended to. Because employee's don't want to be bothered. Many times I have seen employees talking on cell phones and laughing about and horsing around with each other. In the meantime, the place is packed with people needing services. and every time you ask how long you have to wait, they say: SIR SIR SIR your gonna have to wait, we are busy... And back they go laughing and clowning around and playing catch with boxes with loud music. This post office is FILTHY DIRTY. specially window service area's. Place is never cleaned, dusted or even sanitized. You can see spit from peoples mouths on the fiber glassed windows. You can smell the mold from all the dirt and filthiness in the window area's. Don't touch windows or area's if I where you. Try to wash your hands after visiting this place or you'll get sick fast. Sheepshead Bay Post Office at E. 18th St. is an abomination. I consistently get mail for other people, some on my block, most on blocks further away. This leads me to wonder who is getting my mail? I recently received a phone call from my broker asking me if I moved since mail he had sent me had been returned marked something to the effect that the addressee was unknown. I am, however, still getting mail for people who had moved from this address more than 5 yrs. ago. The manager of this branch is never available and forget about trying to call. I live in a fairly large building in their area and they keep mis-delivering, losing packages, and are the most careless bunch of workers that I've talked to. I live nearby to this post office, so I use their service at least once a week. They are very busy, but they work hard to serve every single customer. Great honest workers and I just respect them. I had a very bad experience today. I had a prepaid package and all I needed is a receipt. I have been waiting in the main line for over 15 minutes , I only had 2 people in front of me,while the manager, Jennifer, approached me and Ordered to go to another line where there would be 10 people ahead of me. I have been using usps for over 16 years and never experienced this before. usually they offer you to use machines for faster services but this manager requested me to go to another line. I even try telling her that I want to stay in the main line, she said it was not the suggestion. she spoke with me in a very humiliating and superior manner, may be due to my accent, thinking that I will not be able to make a complaint. I don't think that I've ever experienced such an unprofessional environment. How they are government workers is beyond me. I regularly am traveling and drop my pre-paid packages off at drop off windows all over Brooklyn post offices. Never have I had an issue with a package that I've shipped out. But this post office went beyond all expectations of incompetence. I dropped off a prepaid package at the window two weeks ago and haven't had any update on the tracking since. I have regularly came back to the office about twice a week to see if they could give me any updates on what might've happened to the box. Looking past the tired worker's head, all I saw was an abundance of boxes strewn around the back room. This was very early in the morning too. I politely asked what my options were and the best response that they could give me was to just wait it out and to not worry. I became restless with the situation and when I came back again, I was given a 1800 number to call. I ended up opening up a case with USPS and was promised a call back within 24 hours which never happened, but thats besides the point. When I got in reach with the consumer affairs office, I was told to speak to someone at the post office so yet again, I made my way over there. When I explained the situation yet again, I was told in a hostile tone that it wasn't any of their issues and that they are simply the "middle men". They couldn't accept responsibility for not even scanning the packages' tracking like they were supposed to and said that it was a common mistake. Why pay for tracking anyway, amirite? I finally got to speak to the supervisor who asked for my name and number, yet again giving me an empty promise of calling me with information. My package is doomed and nobody was able to give me any explanation when it is most likely sitting in the back under a huge pile of other packages for all I know. While all of this was happening, I saw people get yelled at by the postal workers, the mail drop off slot overflowing with letters, and overall waited on line for a total of 3 hours during those handful of visits. The workers barely speak English and I was regularly directed towards someone who could understand me better at times. While waiting on line, I googled this office and wanted to slap myself for not reading the reviews before I wasted my time and money at this post office. They lost a very expensive package I was trying to send out and don't want to deal with it. That being said, avoid this post office at all costs! You'd be better off driving to a different one. And if you do use this post office, be sure to bring a book and headphones for the wait and also an extra $20 because you will need to get insurance for your packages. read more
