I can't believe I'm here leaving a yelp review about a precinct but wow, I'm honestly appalled with…read morehow careless, deceptive, and lazy the officers are here. Community Affairs department might as well not exist - they don't do anything. Why is this being funded if they don't do anything for their community? This department exists to build trust and solve neighborhood problems, but they literally don't do anything (as you can see from the frustrated community themselves leaving reviews below). I'm actually stunned to have caught them in multiple lies stating they "came to check out" a problem that the community has been complaining about over and over - but they blatantly lied and never did and continue to ignore it, despite there being a very serious and obviously illegal problem going on. They'll even ignore you no matter how many times you follow up. This is how bad things happen - through careless actions of NYPD officers such as the ones at this precinct. It's really sad that this is what we're supporting, when they can't even support or help their own community that they're employed to do, when they're in need. I really wish there were actually officers at this precinct that took pride in their jobs, and put effort into making the areas they cover a better place.

I've been told that it's perfectly legal for someone to install a camera directly facing my front…read moredoor. After I called 911, the police said just like, even if a complete stranger were to stand outside my window 24 hours a day just staring at my door, it would still be considered lawful simply because it's a public area. No one seems to find this odd -- they all appear to accept it without question. Fine, I get that it's legal. But honestly, I can't help but question their intelligence.

Title: Rude, Unprofessional and inhumane Service for family with newborn…read more We had a 10:15 AM passport appointment on October 30, 2025, for our 6-week-old baby at this USPS (2727 Mermaid Ave, Brooklyn). My husband took the day off, we arrived early in hurricane like weather, and the place was empty. The clerk was unwelcoming and rude from the start. She didn't even greet us. She looked at our baby's photo for a second and said, "It won't work -- the ears aren't visible." When I asked what we could do, she actually said, "Go grow your baby's ears -- your baby is too small for a passport." Our photo was taken professionally and fully meets U.S. Department of State guidelines, which do not require infants' ears to show. It is clearly stated at the Department of State website requirements. Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely uncalled for. We left upset and frustrated after doing everything right. USPS needs to train staff in both professionalism and actual passport rules -- no family should be treated this way. Unacceptable service, attitude, I would not recommend this location to anyone.
