Self service kiosk is always out of order. Line is always backed up because of this. I'm tired of it never being up and working.

There is a young African American woman with really long hair that works in the area where you buy stamps and take packages. She is fantastic and a delight. She is so very helpful. The rest of the staff and the mail carriers are horrible. A couple of their mail carriers are currently in trouble for stealing gift cards during holidays from the mail they were carrying. My mail carrier is so lazy she will balance your package on top of your mailbox in pouring down rain so she does not have to put it on your porch. She does it during dry weather too. My entire neighborhood has gotten to know each other well because we have to exchange mail often after she constantly delivers it to the wrong place in our subdivision. My sister is a mail carrier in another town and she says it is in their job description that they have to bring packages to your door if it does not fit in the mailbox. Don't bother reporting it to management at Meadowbrook post office because they do nothing. Management in that post office needs to be changed...all of read more

Waiting 8 days for my packages to leave Birmingham post office. This happens frequently. And ofcourse you cant contact anyone in charge.

I love coming to this post office. They are open longer than any other post office around. I ship packages a lot, so that is important to me. The staff is so nice and cheerful. This is my favorite location. read more

Your postal delivery people must deliver when they want to. No mail delivery yesterday in the Cotswold neighborhood. The streets were clear( no ice or snow). This has happened before very recently. Last week the siren went off at the ball field warning of lightening and the post lady asked if we had storm shelters! She probably didn't deliver anymore!!! Horrible. read more

My stars are for the employees. I am a regular and have been for years. They know me and remember my son's name and always ask how he is doing. The staff is always willing to help and take packages that are too large to fit in the drop box. I've had just about every scenario you could have at this post office and I've always been satisfied with the help they have given me. read more

Friendly, helpful staff! They care about the people they're taking care of. Office is nice and clean. Open later than other locations.

They make it so difficult to contact them about orders I place for stamps and supplies. They do not fulfill orders. Recently I placed an order for stamps and supplies and paid over $40.00 for expedited shipping, but I didn't get my order for well over a week after my order and still charged me over $40 for shipping, which was far from expedited. They don't send orders with tracking numbers, so if you try to contact them, they ask for your tracking number, which was never given. They do not want to help people. They do not have a stamp you can buy for the exact amount of priority express flat rate. The guy in charge has made such a mess of this government owned institution. US read more

Their reliability!!! I've had two packages shipped to me - one from the next town over and ended up in Detroit and the other was shipped from my town and has been sitting at the post office for 5 days!!!!! Horrible!!!! read more

Every time I send something to Birmingham it takes forever! I pay extra to get tracked and they have never delivered it's "OUT FOR DELIVERY." The recipient said mail person doesn't deliver every day to ZIP code 35226. I am going to request a refund and make a formal complaint... You would think they would at least deliver packages that have tracking for delivery that day! read more

The rudest woman works here. Very condescending. Why can't they hire postal workers who are nice. No help what so ever. Did everything she could to make what I was trying to ship a difficult experience read more

Just picked up two packages from Meadowbrook po. Latoya is always so helpful! She went above and beyond today for me! Thanks so much! read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Birmingham, Alabama

Yelp would allow zero stars. Probably the worst PO I've ever been too. As others have said, you can't mail a package on your own - which at this rate would be 20x faster - because "that option isn't available right now" on the lobby machine. So, at 4:30 p.m., we have a solo worker, 18 people in line and ONE customer has moved forward in 10 min. During this COVID-19 pandemic, the 6 foot rule is pushing the line all the way back through the PO Box lobby. Utterly ridiculous. A plea for customers at this PO especially: please know what you intend to do with your mail, have it packaged, and addressed BEFORE getting to the counter. The rest of the universe shouldn't pay for your laziness. read more

US Post Office - A whole lot of waiting...10 min., no movement. Thanks US gov... - Post Offices Near Me - Birmingham, Alabama

I Came in here at the beginning of December because I ordered some jeans in October, and the company I ordered from put this zip code instead of mine. The package was stuck here in limbo, and my local post office told me to come here, and they would look for it. The lady behind the counter was screaming at everyone to "STAND 6ft APART!!" , She was like a school teacher yelling at the students to stay in single file. It was a mad house, and the line was super long snaking throughout the building with only 2 postal workers. When I finally got to the front, 30 minutes had passed, and I was hoping I would leave with my package. The lady was very short and just stated, "there are trucks out back filled with unsorted redirected mail, NEXT" that was all. So rude. So COLD. I walked away not saying a word. I realize the mail was supper backed up last year, but she could have been a little more nice! I waited in line for 30 minutes! I highly recommend using any post office BESIDES this one. read more

I live in Arab, AL and all are mail goes to Birmingham before coming to Arab. My friend mailed wedding invitations in Arab. No one received their invitation. Since Dejoy became Post Master General I have had nothing but problems with my mail. Getting mail in my box for someone who lives several streets away and the address was not even close. Takes 10 days to get anything that was mailed in Arab to come to my house. Putting in DeJoy so he could slow down voting by mail in order to aid Trump. Glad that ploy didn't work out. I have had nothing but problems ever since Dejoy took over. Getting rid of the sorting machines is when all my problems began. I am a senior citizen and thanks to him he has made my life a living hell. read more

This place is horrible. Setup and paid for change of address and still had IMPORTANT packages delivered to old address. Once I finally filed a lost mail claim I got a call from a "Luchreisha Williams" stating she would speak with carrier to see what the issue is and would give me a call back... all I got was a email saying the package can't be located and to call the sender for a refund. HORRIBLE. Also They don't answer the phone I've called over 50 times and didn't get one answer. I'm not letting this go bc it was something important for my child so I will email and call as many times as I want bc this entire experience was horrible. read more

I could NOT tell you why this post office has such a bad rap. They may be a little understaffed at times, but the workers here have never been anything but helpful, timely, knowledgeable, and nice every time I have come. No matter how long or short you stand in line, they always say, "I'm sorry for your wait." I don't have anything bad to say. AND the building is situated in a pretty neighborhood. :) read more

I have contacted them twice online about a package. The first time they contacted me a couple of days later and said they would have it to me that afternoon. Over a week later and it still hasn't come. I ordered the package over a month ago. The second time, I never received a response. I call multiple times a day and no one ever answers. I am constantly not getting Mail. The ALEA has had to send me two hard copies of my license because I haven't received one from them. When I asked them about these pieces of Mail, they said they couldn't do anything about it without a tracking number. We receive the paper once a month if we're lucky. Not sure what's going on but it's been this way for months with no improvement. read more

This is by far the worst Post Office I've ever experienced. I went in there today to get a few stamps. I was standing in line and my entertainment was the woman behind the counter gossiping (loud enough for all of us to get an earful) to several other fellow employees about a guy who did something and she said "I'd like to see that guy again! I'd tell him to get outta my face!!!" Hilarious. She looked really mad and then did a complete 180 as she smiles sweetly to say "Can I help who's next?" I walk up and get my stamps from her then she sweetly says "Have a blessed day!" Minutes after she said she hates that guy and he better get outta her face!!! Every time I go inside I leave feeling down & out but unsure why..... Strange toxic work environment that affects everyone who walks in.... Yuck. I go to the UPS store now to mail something. Oh and last December I went inside and to avoid the line I used my debit card to get stamps from the stamp kiosk in the lobby. Well, guess what? My debit card info was stolen from that machine and the con artist got over $150 out of my checking account. Not the fault of the post office, but definitely inspires me to use cash only. Thanks to Navy Federal Credit Union for doing an investigation and letting me know that it came from that machine where someone put one of those card readers. I went back in the post office not long after and let the gossiping employee (get outta my face!) know what happened so that she could let someone know. Guess what she told me? She said "You're wrong, that did not happen, that would not happen here." Wow. Okay, let's promote denial. read more

This is a terrible post office. There is always one or two people there and one seems to always disappear or is doing something other than waiting on the long line of customers. Then they say "sorry for your wait"! Really, sorry for the 6 years that I have lived here and you still can't employ 3 people to efficiently wait on customers! read more

I have never dealt with such a worthless team of individuals - Supervisors and delivery drivers. They will NOT deliver packages to my door, simply hold them at the office for me to go and pick up. What a waste of time, but then again, no surprise. I don't understand why these individuals are allowed to work for the post office - absolutely an embarrassment to their Organization. I would hate to know I was responsible for such worthless individuals that will not deliver a package and then treat you so unprofessionally when you go and try to retrieve a package you paid to be delivered, to your house. I have talked to the Supervisor at this location and continue to get nothing but excuses - what an embarrassment to delivery drivers and Leadership. You all should be ashamed. I truly hope you all are proud of the Customer No Service you deliver on a regular basis. Great Job and exceeding expectations!!! read more

Awful!! They don't give your money back even if you pay too expensive for you package not be late and it is delivered super late! The website lies saying you can get your money back for a late delivery but when you go to the store they don't give a shit about you. HORRIBLE! read more

Self serve kiosk once again won't work. Can't mail anything. Have to drive 5 miles to try that malachite, which didn't work last time I was there! Also no small boxes available. Does the post office not want to offer service after hours? Biggest waste of time. read more

the worst post office in the world, maybe even galaxy. 2 hr line. One grumpy person working there.

Avoid at all costs! I was there today, and they didn't have postcard stamps, so I went to print some out of the self-serve. The clerk then told me that I could only use those stamps today, and when I asked why, she said "because it says so on the stamp." Which it doesn't. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she was rude, belligerent, and condescending, refusing to answer any of my questions with anything more than "because they're not Forever stamps." The clerk proceeded to laugh in my face during the entire transaction. Even worse, they were actually wrong, because I went to another post office immediately after, and Darlene, the sweet teller at the Cahaba Heights branch, explained everything to me in a very sensible way. I won't be back here again, and I even filed a complaint with them online. read more
