Update tracking was-"Placed in mailbox" Who the hell can put a pair of shoes in a city mailbox? Of course, the sneakers never made it to their destination. Our good old US postal service. I utilize the post office as little as possible. I would advise you to do the same. Back in the day, postal workers were trustworthy and respected. Not anymore! so far this Christmas season I had 2 items delivered by them and both items never made it to me but were marked as delivered. They just steal your packages for themselves . I was amazingly shocked at the customer service I received today from Mike. I was in a great mood when I walked in didn't mind the line. I bring in two packages one was a small box,I'm paying for shipping for and the other a huge box that was a return with a prepaid label, I don't own huge packing tape just the regular small house kind. So I kindly asked mike for a piece of tape, not thinking of it being an issue since I saw another customer using their tape. Mike states oh sure it will be 3.29 for the tape. My reply is your kidding right he goes no (the way he said it really sounded like he was joking) I then say for a piece of tape 3.29 he goes for a pack of tape. I'm like didn't ask for a phate thatack a tape, he goes well you have to buy it, I can't just give u the tape. I'm just really shocked and the sarcasm in his voice isn't pleasant. So I say ok since now I know this but I don't mail out huge packages, could you give me one piece of tape as a courtesy he says no! So I say really because it's a return prepaid label I shouldn't have to put money into returning it just for some tape. This is amazing but any who I ask if he could get his supervisor I mean it is just a piece of tape he then says ok but she is just going to tell you the same thing. I'm just shocked he would even make that comment. I'm like let's see he goes to this back open area I can hear him make a comment the female supervisor snickers I hear laughing he comes back and tells me she said no. At this point im just beyond upset like she didn't even come speak to me. And I felt like what was really said, so disappointing. So he tells me to go to family dollar across the street the must have cheaper tape. Smdh I can't believe this so I went bought tape just because at this point I felt like I'm not giving this post office any more money then I need to. Went back taped my package, paid postage on my small one and left beyond pissed. Like no sympathy from the counter rep Mike and this mysterious supervisor... So as I walked out I realize how rudely I was treated by Mike everything he said was in a sarcastic manner and not appreciated. No matter what field u should be understanding of your customer, they do not work there and know what you know so when providing info no need to talk to someone as if I'm interrupting your day. And secondly the supervisor not coming to acknowledge the inquiry was such a rude thing to do especially after overhearing the laughter like I'm done joke. this was around 5pm. I will be putting in a complaint, another worker have me the number after hearing my story and started I shouldn't have to tolerate what just happened. I called and was told to call back tomm before 530 hate that this is the only usps around me! ugh read more

Everytime I send a package from out of state AND pay the extra money to have it there by a certain time...the mail carrier DOES NOT deliver it on time. He usually waits until the third day past the date it should have been there and then puts a notice on the recipient's door....this is problematic because 1. I paid for it to be there on a certain day, 2. the recipient is home.....this boils down to flat out lazy. I want my money back. read more

the pickup area need to be more efficient and friendly and less racist . also i have never seen any usps delivery to my home ,they always lied about that they came and didn't find anyone,then i have to go to pickup myself.last package online info usps said unsuccessful delivery on December 31 2013 well im sure that there was no mail delivery around that time and i was home all day ...they need to stop lying and when we go for pickup they need to be less racist and more friendly . read more

The customer service in Bayonne is spotty. One day you'll get the obnoxious and rude lady at the counter (Cho? Chu?) who bites your head off for having more than 1 package to post and gives you a hard time for buying your priority mail postage online (which makes no sense at all, it's saving her the trouble!), or you'll get that one really nice woman who is very helpful. Then at home, you'll get a delivery person who's friendly and takes the time to actually deliver your package and ring your bell (what an honor!), or you'll get the sweaty guy with the cigarette hanging out of his mouth who throws your package like a Frisbee up 2 flights of steps. It's always a treat when you come home early and catch him doing it and he'll say in a gruff Eastern European accent, cigarette dangling, clad in street clothes; "You no home I leave package on stairs". More like you'll 'throw my packages up the stairs' ya lazy jerk. Stay classy, Bayonne. read more

It's unfortunate that I am obligated to give this post office a single star. I've been a resident ( living in a residential building) of this city for 2 years, but over the past year our mail carrier has gotten very lazy. He no longer rings the bell, nor does he bring the packages to the door. He continuously leaves packages (near the entrance) at the landing of the stairs where people are constantly entering/exiting, making our packages susceptible to thievery. In addition, there has also been a number of occasions where I have been home awaiting delivery; after checking the status of my delivery, the status of your item read "notice left." Of course there was no notice left because that would require an actual attempt of delivery. As a result of this lackadaisical careless mail carrier, we have had a significant amount of our packages stolen. So please if you receive deliveries from carriers working out of the 570 Broadway location, save yourself the trouble and opt to pick up. By doing so you will save yourself the inconvenience and hassle of debating and the reordering of your product. read more

Almost always a line. The line will move quickly when the customers are prepared to mail a package. Problem is that most people don't have a clue and it creates a backlog of people online. Too many foreigners lately mailing packages back to the old country and don't have a freaking clue how to mail a package from the United States. This post office has misplaced 2 packages on me since I moved to Bayonne. In one instance the delivery manager got involved and the problem was rectified within 2 days. The other time the Postmaster got involved and the problem was rectified within 24 hrs. I also had a problem with a driver not attempting delivery but saying he did. Saying he left a notice when he didn't. Postmaster came to my apartment building after I gave him a call. He actually came to my building. No BS. I showed him what was going on. That was the last time there was ever a problem like this. I've had problems with delivery on packages that I sent outside Bayonne. They were always willing to help and made the effort to put a trace on their end or make the phone call. What more can I ask from them? I have nothing but good things to say about this post office. And no, I'm not a postal employee or a relative of one. The few times that customers were prepared to mail a package properly, the line moved quickly. Today I went to them with a problem having a package delivered in Philadelphia. The delivery supervisor met me and took down my information. In a short while he came back with all the info about the shipment that contained my package that left Kearny to Philadelphia. He stated that he would call down to Philadelphia and/or email on my behalf. He said he would call me when he had a update. I know he will because they always do. read more

The worst service i've ever experienced and still with this local post office, a gang of liars working there from the driver to the supervisor, usps should fire all people working there and replace it with a honest crew know how to deal with people, my package still sitting there for more than 12 days and everyday i call them or the sender call they come up with something or a new lie, after waiting for my package 7 days and since i work from home and my apt# in the front, if a fly cross the street i see it(they updated online that a notice has been left lol what a crooks and liars you) they tell you we coming after 7 pm and they don't show up, you call again they say we closed already! do you wanna reschedule for tomorrow! on saturday they don't show up and i call them and they say oh we have some exceptions to deliver on sunday so ofcourse i could be the lucky one lol but again no1 show up. the next day the truck is not working so after you fight with them he/she tell you i'm individual here let me get you the suprervisor and he put you on hold and forget about you there and for today and ofcourse tomorrow they will say bad weather so i'm sure they happy to stay home since they work hard you know, these losers should be fired to learn. I am writing an awkward experience happened to me in Bayonne Post Office half an hour ago. 30 minutes ago, one of my office girl need to send out a 20lb package. Since it is raining outside, so I offered her a ride. So I drop off her at the post office an found parking meter space along the Broadway, and then I came to her. She needs to send out a package and also to pick up a package which was mis-del on Sat. so when it is our turn to come to the service window, I help her to pick up the package while she was sending out the package. Then just this moment, a man behind us yielded to me: Line cutter! And blablabla.... I tried to explain to the people work in the post office, but a woman with black hair, wearing a pair of glassed said 4 times " Line Jumper!" and shaked her head, do not want to hear my explanation. What is the worst is after she took 20 minutes to key in the info. to computer to finish the transaction, She pointed at me with one finger ( I cannot tell which one, she did that so quick,) "you! No more coming!" she said that with sneering smile. I will listen to her advise. Never stop by the Bayonne post office again. read more

I was helped by the guy didn't take a name who was working this afternoon and he had such an attitude. I'm sorry you're miserable and your job but you're supposed to give proper customer service that is what you are being paid to do ! This post office has the worst service. I live on 16th Street and In the past month I have received letters and packages for people who live on 15th Street, 17th Street and even 45th Street. Don't these mail carriers even know what street they are on. That being said, I don't know where my mail is because I haven't received anything with my name on it in weeks, causing my bills to go unpaid. Who is going to pay for late charges. Absolutely impossible to deal with. I supposedly received a package on 1/18, and the carrier supposedly knocked on my door, then left the package at my doorstep. Well, I was home all day on 1/18, and that didn't happen. I called to try to figure out what happened to my package, and I was transferred from supervisor to clerk to supervisor, then told to call back the next day. I called back the next day and the carrier insists he delivered the package and knocked on my door-- then he put a supervisor on the phone, who accused me of lying and was incredibly rude. Why would I possibly lie about this?! Did this man really think that I get my kicks wasting my time talking to incompetent postal workers? The next explanation offered was that my package was stolen-- highly unlikely, since I live on the top floor of my building and nobody is ever up here besides the people who live on this floor. The conversation quickly reverted back to accusing me of lying for some unfathomable reason. It must be nice to have a job where you don't have to care one iota about whether it's done properly. read more

This post office is like a dysfunctional family! There is a guy named Mike there who is rude, condescending, and arrogant. I try to be friendly with everyone. I go to this post office daily and have witnessed awful behavior. First of all, there are so many people unemployed who would love a good job like this. If Mike doesn't like his job, he should move on because customer service is not his best skill. I also feel sorry for the lovely women who work with this man. Most of the women work there are fast, friendly and work hard. They take 3 customers to his one. And anytime he has to work a bit harder, he finds an excuse to go for lunch or break. Saturdays he stands at the window complaining about customers coming in. And acts as if he is troubled by the fact people are there to be waited on. Most days, he is at his window with his cell phone on the counter plugged in and playing loud the most horrible heavy metal music. He huffs and puffs as he is annoyed you have interrupted his surfing the web on his phone. At Xmas time, I watched him be so rude to a nice elderly gentleman. And I thought about saying something because if that was my grandpa, I'd want someone to say something. But when I got to the window, he of course went to lunch. I asked another employee about it, and they said don't bother complaining about him, it won't do any good. This guy is a waste of payroll for the post office. If he worked for my company, I'd have broken his lazy bad behavior or fired him. The fact that he has been here so long proves there is a problem higher up. Including the postmaster at this location who when you do complain, is also rude and condescending. Once my post office box is up for renewal, I will no longer use this post office. There is no customer service here. read more
