READ IF YOU USE USPS in SHAPLEIGH…read more I have filed a criminal police report regarding a suspected theft of a package committed by either the older man who generally works the front desk, or any other worker specific to the Shapleigh, Maine, USPS location. The value of the package's contents are $1,700.00. On Friday, 10/23/2020, at 2:35pm, I went inside the Shapleigh USPS location and handed 2 packages directly to an older man with medium length grey hair at the front desk. Video footage from inside the USPS Shapleigh location will confirm this if it's available, and I am in the process of attempting to subpoena the video footage to corroborate my account of the situation. One of these packages was scanned in nearly immediately, showing a "scanned in" time and date of 2:39pm, 10/23/2020. The other package, i.e. the "stolen/missing package", has still not been scanned in as of today, 10/29/2020. Upon calling the Shapleigh USPS location on 10/26/2020, I advised the man who answered the phone that I had handed this package over in person to the USPS worker whilst inside the USPS location, under video surveillance, so I knew they had it in their possession. The man on the phone insisted they had never received the package, and had absolutely no information on where it was - he tried to tell me that I hadn't brought it to USPS to be delivered yet, which I refuted, but was met with the same response. Next, I walked into the office on 10/29/2020 and asked the man at the front desk to look for the package again, because I knew it was in their possession. The man rudely and aggressively told me that I never brought it in, AGAIN, despite me insisting that I knew they had it in their possession. He then REFUSED to look further, and stood there looking at me aggressively and silently until I was forced to leave out of fear. I had not raised my voice this entire time and he just had a smug look on his face as he stood there and told me that he would refuse to look for the package again. I am actively working with local police, federal police, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the United States Postal Inspection General, and my attorney to get to the bottom of this situation. IF YOU VALUE YOUR PACKAGES, AVOID THE SHAPLEIGH, MAINE USPS LOCATION UNTIL FEDERAL POLICE CAN ASCERTAIN WHAT HAS HAPPENED. Use FedEx or UPS - they actually care about a lost package because they are a legitimate business with consequences for bad/thieving employees, unlike the USPS which has a tendency to hire and retain employees who couldn't care less what happens to your belongings and livelihood. If anyone has ANY information on stolen goods or packages in Shapleigh, Maine, or York County, please contact the United States Postal Inspection General or local police to improve our chances of righting what's wrong. It took about 2 hours before I was seen. Which is expected at any place like this. * you CAN schedule an appt and skip the wait* (I didn't know this). There were 4-5 people staffed. The lady that helped me was WONDERFUL! I had so many questions. As Maine laws are much different than Wisconsin. Additionally, I'm young, so I don't know how all of this works. She answered every one, she was patient and kind with me. I would highly recommend this place to anybody!

Had an appointment to transfer and out-of-state license to a Maine Real ID this morning, and wow!…read more It was a breeze, and I was in and out of the door in under 20 minutes. Here's how it worked: I booked my appointment online about a month ago. The day before you'll get an email and/or text verification telling you to text "check in" no earlier than 5 minutes from your appointment time. There were also three very friendly and helpful workers right in the lobby checking appointment names as well and providing direction (one woman verified with me that I had the right documents with me, which was nice). Basically after that I walked right in and my number popped up at one of the counters, and from there the whole thing took about 15 minutes. They do also take walk-ins, and when I arrived at 8:45 a.m. the seats were filling up but not yet full with those folks; I did see that some of them were being called up to the counters too, so they clearly have some sort of system going. Right now wait times are often super long; also, if you look online you'll see that the next appointments for this branch aren't available until mid-August (this is because of the Real ID crunch; I've checked online before and it's not normally like this). So if you do still need your Real ID, I'd book an appointment for the next date as a fallback (you can always cancel it), and then try as a walk-in mid-week or so, arriving first thing in the morning. Either way, they're efficient and helpful, and everything is organized! I've lived in a lot of cities and usually BMVs are an utter nightmare, but this was super easy.

I have been to social security office in Saco on a few…read more occasions over the years. I have never reviewed them before until now. On Monday we walked in to find a packed room full of people patiently waiting. The security officer James suggested we come back on Thursday typically a slow day. James happens to be the nicest person I have ever encountered. Not only is he nice but he offers to help everyone who walks in with a geniune smile & kind words. So we arrive back to SS on Thursday. There to greet us was James. As usual he's his same cordial self. Sure enough we had only a short wait. Our # 's were called & Nancy waited on us. There must be something in the drinking water that makes the employees extra pleasant. Kudos to the social security office in Saco Maine!!!
