The waiting area was clean, comfortable, and spacious and there were large screens keeping everyone updated with their place in line and which window to go to. The lady who helped my Mom was very professional and organized! She helped us update Mom's direct deposit info as requested and reassured is the reissued checks were on the way. We recieved the direct deposit yesterday and are so grateful for the staff for making the process very easy and pleasant! It has been a couple years now since household hazardous waste collection has moved into the new…read morePublic Works center on Lion and even though the old location was much closer to my house, this new facility is much better for everyone involved - volunteers and residents alike. A lot of cities in the IE have hazardous waste collection only once a month, or even once a quarter, but we are fortunate in Rancho to have collection every Saturday from 8am to noon (minus Saturdays of a holiday weekend). They take a wide variety of hazardous waste including electronics waste including monitors and TVs, pesticides, chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, motor oil, anti-freeze, brake fluid, paint, and more. Their website says they don't take tires or medical waste/sharps (though all RC fire stations have free medical sharps collection). This new location is in a permanent building, instead of sealand containers, and has a huge covered portico to keep it shady in the summer and dry in the winter. Everything is always well organized to get in and out fast. You may need to provide proof of residency, I usually have my water or trash bill with me that shows the address, just in case. Walk in and you are immediately greeted by the officer on duty. He will greet you then tell you to check in at the machine on your Right. It's a touch computer screen so just follow the directions. Take your ticket and sit down. No Cell phone! Turn them off because if it rings, the officer will announce out loud-the RULES!! This place is clean, quiet and safe. Your ticket number is just your number. The numbers are not called in order (several signs posted relating to this). Pay attention to your number being called out loud and on the monitor. Take a book to read or something quiet to do while you wait. Once your number is called. Quickly go to your window. Have your ID ready to present at the window. Be efficient and ready with your questions or paperwork/documents. If you are prepared then your visit should run smoothly. The individuals at the window are knowledgeable and know what they are doing and telling you. Pay attention and follow their instructions and or advice. Good luck

Not sure if that is the norm. I do have to say, the person who assisted us and the security were very helpful and very nice. The experience was surprisingly pleasant. The office is very outdated compared to the one in Fontana. But in reality that doesn't matter it's the service that makes the difference.
