Signage as of 12/2/24 regarding requiring an appointment if you need anything done in terms of a social security card.

Recently got married, need to do a name change on my social security card. I live in Irvine but decided to go to this location due to the better reviews, my husband's recollection of it being a smooth operation years ago, and the fact that Brea is somewhat more isolated than other locations so was hoping the crowd level would be lower. First, I had issues with the social security website. Their "find an office near me" links are all broken. Secondly, I couldn't find any easy way to make an appointment online, it seemed I had to call to make an appointment or complete an application first. I tried to complete an application online, but my new middle name is too long for the online application to take as there is a character limit on the text field on the online application! Not wanting to submit an application with my new middle name spelled incompletely, I figured I would just go and try to walk in at the Brea location and see if a human being could help me out. They opened at 9am, I arrived at 9:24am. There was a line out the door of about 18 people. The security guard asked if anyone had an appt, because they could go in first, but everyone in the line was a walk-in. As we got closer to the door, I noticed two signs - one that said that starting January 2025, you would need an appointment for the majority of services, and another that said that if you were getting a new social security card (including name changes), you would need an appointment. (See the attached photos) The security guard/officer, Janice (I think that was her name), was super nice and helpful for everyone in line. She was pulled away helping someone just as I reached the front of the line, so I wasn't able to ask her at that time about the application process (and I wasn't sure if that was really within her job scope). She came back and directed me to the check-in kiosk. At 9:50, I checked in at the kiosk, got my number and sat down. A few minutes later, the security guard asked who was there for a social security card or name change. I raised my hand and she confirmed that one needed to make an appointment first. Another worker came out and said the same thing. I explained how I was unable to complete an online application due to my new middle name being too long. Janice really helped me out and instructed me to complete an application using my initials for the middle name and gave me a paper form to bring back, stating I could put my full middle name on the paper form and it will supersede the application. She made sure I was able to complete an application online and set up another appointment before I left. Even though I wasn't able to get my stuff done that day, I really appreciated all the help I received, especially from Janice! I'll be back in a few days and will update my review with that experience. Update: returned with an appt for 1:30pm. You check in on your phone using a link they text you one hour ahead of your appt, so you don't have to wait to use the kiosk to check in. I arrived and checked in on my phone at 1:18pm. There was no line out the door this time! But plenty of people in the waiting room. My number wasn't called until 2pm. The employee that helped me was very kind and he explained that SS can't take long middle names (more than like 16 characters), but it won't matter because DMV will, and they'll use the marriage certificate as proof. For the SS, I just put my new middle initials. They printed me a stamped confirmation and told me I could go to the DMV after 24 hours (for processing) and move forward with my drivers license change. No payments needed or anything. I was done about 2:10pm.

Security is a little extra strict but concise, I was in and out of there in 15 minutes, no wait but I had an appointment.

A bit of a wait, but once inside it went rather quickly. The phone call service was efficient and helpful.

Before the scandal, his presidency reshaped both foreign and domestic policy in ways that still impact us today. On the global stage: * He made a historic visit to China in 1972, opening diplomatic relations after decades of isolation--completely shifting the balance of the Cold War * He negotiated détente with the Soviet Union, including arms control agreements that helped ease nuclear tensions * He worked to wind down U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War and ended the military draft At home: * He established the Environmental Protection Agency, laying the groundwork for modern environmental protection * Signed the Clean Air Act and supported major environmental reforms * Advanced policies that reshaped federal power and economic strategy during a time of national division What stands out in the museum is how these accomplishments are presented alongside the unraveling of the Watergate scandal--a moment that led to his resignation and permanently changed public trust in government. It's a rare place where you're forced to hold two truths at once: A president who made major global strides... and a presidency that ended in one of the most significant political scandals in American history.

# 500 Review Saved…read moreit specifically for Thy City I Love... My 1st review on a City ever There's so much to say about Yorba Linda. Let me say it was the Best Decision ever to purchase our 1st Home together in Yorba Linda, summer of 2015. My husband and I looked at Hones in other great cities, Irvine, Cypress to name a few and even looked to stay in Fullerton/Near Troy HS. We were looking literally almost 5 years. When we looked in Yorba Linda, i just knew of this city as the well known Richard Nixon Library along with it being his birthplace. Never thought I'd be raising our little humans here. It's been almost 8 years living at the Land of the Gracious Living. And loving every second of it. Watching our kids grow, meeting and going to school with other great families. The neighbors are all so friendly and even strangers that ends up being friends. Everyone is all so welcoming since we moved here and we have made other new families feel welcoming. I haven't heard any negativity from anyone that has moved to our town. It's quite a bummer reading other reviews about Yorba Linda stating it's a snobby town. I highly recommend looking into purchasing here in YL. You'll get your moneys worth for the amount of land you get. When we moved here in 2015 the town hasn't had much development as of big stores. Until In 2017 i would like to say. We finally have our own Yorba Linda Town center right next to Old Town Yorba Linda Main Street. It's a beautiful town center with our very own Regal theater. Our new Public Library is a beautiful place to visit for books & other children department programs they have to offer. The city is definitely a knit tight community. I grew up almost basically my entire like in Fullerton and I didn't feel a sense of closeness for the less than 8 years I've been here as much as I feel living in Yorba Linda. We have so many parks also. The biggest addition to one of the best parks is we recently just had our newly renovated Adventure Playground added to one of our parks. Definitely a Must visit! It's a pretty safe city to raise or begin a family here. The school ratings was definitely one of the reason why we chose to bought our 1st home here.

Especially if you and your friends / family all like different things or have dietary restrictions. There's a couple shops, but this place shines in the food and bar department They have everything from a pastry dessert place and even a speakeasy that is for any bar lover They have everything from a grilled cheese place that is on the casual side But then they have The wooden pearl which is a higher end place They have a casual bar such as the hammer bar (highly recommend) Also, they have a Randy's donut location. But, if you're in the mood for sweets I recommend, Hans ice cream During the week during lunch time there's usually no long lines. During dinner and weekends it does get busy. The whole place is clean, even the bathrooms It's a nice place to come, and kill some extra time. I've spent a whole day in here when it was pouring down rain They have one of my favorite places which is - Mini monster cafe. However, it just has the drinks here. I highly suggest going to the long beach, 2nd street location that features-macarons, ice cream, coffees, teas, milkshakes, smoothies, boba, and more desserts One of my favorite things to do inside the Anaheim packing district was this place called - Pique-Nique. It's a cheese / charcuterie bar with drinks and even wine tasting We need more markets like this!!
