I hired Moving USA LLC to broker my interstate move from Washington, DC, to Florida. Based on what I was told before booking, I expected a very different experience than what actually occurred. Before pickup, I repeatedly emailed the company with photos and details of my inventory, specifically asking them to review everything so there would be no surprises regarding truck access or additional charges. Those emails went unanswered. I was also told that the carrier was based in Florida and that delivery would take approximately three business days. I relied on that information when deciding when to start my apartment lease, and as a result I have been paying rent on an empty apartment while also incurring temporary housing expenses. After my belongings were picked up, everything changed. The carrier assigned was not the company I had expected based on my conversations with the broker. I was then presented with approximately $1,700 in additional charges on top of an original binding estimate of about $1,800, nearly doubling the total cost. One of the charges was a $500 shuttle fee for truck access issues that I had specifically tried to avoid by providing inventory information weeks before the move. Most concerning, I was asked to sign revised paperwork and accept the additional charges after being told my belongings would be delivered that same day/Saturday morning. Shortly afterward, I received another email saying there was now a "severe delivery delay." Despite repeated requests, I have still not been told: * where my belongings are currently located, * the specific reason for the delay, * or when they will actually be delivered. Instead, both the broker and the carrier continue sending generic responses quoting contract language while avoiding the specific questions I have asked. At the time of writing this review, my belongings are still in transit, I continue to incur additional expenses because of the delays, and I have filed complaints with the appropriate regulatory authorities while seeking legal counsel. If anything changes or the companies make this right, I will happily update this review. But based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend either Moving USA LLC or Planet Movers. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I could not have even fathomed how bad this would be... 1. Harassment by mover They showed up at 9 PM on a Saturday. One of the movers asked if I had a boyfriend and he asked for my number multiple times, ending with him cornering me in my empty apartment once the other movers had left to ask a final time. As a young woman alone, this was extremely unsettling and inappropriate. Even his coworker was trying to wingman for him. This was all insanely unprofessional. 2. Multiple add-on costs for fine-print rules Hidden fees added roughly $250 for versions things. One example is that the 'included first flight of stairs' is only free if it's 10 steps or less so just like that an additional $75 was added. 3. It took forever It took 10 days to receive my items (most of them, at least) for a move from Minneapolis to Oklahoma. 4. Broken items It's like they tried to break things. One plant stand was so destroyed they didn't even bring it to me. Other things were damaged, dirty, and scuffed. 5. Missing bag They forgot one of my bags and it took an additional three weeks to get it back. 6. Horrible claims process It took 100 days to receive my settlement for the damaged items. After all of this, I am only being reimbursed $140 for the damage. They moved a studio apartment for $2,200, and this was the level of service I received. Have to share my experience with this whole ordeal, just because it was so awful. Hopefully somebody reads this and saves themselves weeks of headaches and a thinner wallet. I first get enticed by a company called "Frontier Moving Solutions", which is a borderline scam. They are a broker that got me in touch with Big Shoulders, and please please please, avoid using Frontier AT ALL COSTS. They are the ones that roped me into this ordeal, and they have the bad reviews to prove it. They quoted me a price on a move from Indianapolis to California, which was NOT the price I ended up paying. They also didn't tell me about making a down payment with a credit card which would have a $50 charge... Just the beginning of the legal scam. When it came to Big Shoulders, they just continued the horrible moving experience for me. They get to my apartment and all of the sudden, they have to get ultra precise about the amount of steps that they have to climb and keep charging you. Then they charge you extra for every item that they wrap, which is where the SHADY business practices begin. The guy told me that he would give me a "deal" if he just charged me for the materials to wrap my furniture in, but said I could only give him CASH. It seems like I got charged extra so the driver could pocket some extra money, otherwise, why did I need cash? After making sure with the broker that I wouldn't have to pay anymore money, I ended having to spend another $800 over my quoted price. Plus, I had to load up my car with a ton of items just so I wouldn't get more charges from them. You'll also never know when you'll get your stuff. I was told on November 13th that my items would arrive at its destination in 5-7 days. I call them on the 7th day to see where my items were, and the lady boss told me it would be another week. So, not only did I get all of these extra charges, now I have to sleep on the floor for an extra week. When my items finally arrived on the night before Thanksgiving, I got hit with more nonsense. I tried to make a deal with the driver to only carry a few heavy items up and I would do the rest, just so they didn't charge me for more steps. The driver didn't even bother to bring help, so I had to move all of my stuff with him. Why did I pay for mover if I had to move stuff myself? Why would've happened if I wasn't there to help him? In closing, this is the worst moving experience I have ever had, and I want everyone to avoid this company like the plague. I will say for legal reasons, there is nothing "illegal" that this company did, and I'm sure they'll respond with contracts, this and that, but just because it may be legal, it doesn't mean it's ETHICAL. Big shoulders, along with Frontier moving are working in tandem to legally take your money. They will overpromise and under deliver. read more

Long distance move to Florida from Wisconsin and referred to them via a broker. Things were initially wrapped up well by the loading guys and stuff went somewhere to sit for a while. My estimated delivery date ended up being late by a few days and multiple things arrived broken- electronics, furniture, etc. missing boxes as well containing expensive items- I wouldn't notice this until after I begin the unpacking process. Driver showed up with random people from Craigslist to unload my stuff and made me sign the contract right away saying it was all delivered. Honestly I have 1500sq of things in your truck and you want me to go through everything to make sure nothing is broken or missing in order to make a claim? Anyways, that's what the fine print says. I'm pretty much SOL after dishing out $12,000. My recommendation? Drive your stuff yourself or hire a reputable moving company. read more

You would be hard pressed to find a worse mover in my opinion. They came to our location and when they found out we had 2 helpers, they proceeded to drag out the moving as much as possible. Example? They took a good super large box and said, no we cannot move that, we need to separate it into 8 very small boxes? They spent way too much time stretch wrapping everything, they even wrapped 2 wire baskets! They also wrapped a broom? Seriously? They just were trying to take more time and have a larger load so they could triple our original fee. Example? They actually moved a bag of garbage even after we told them it was trash. Do not use them, they picked up my furniture and let it sit in the warehouse for 2 weeks and in the midst of it all, they broke and damaged my furniture. Not only that, they only take cash, Zelle, money order or Venmo and that is all the red flags you need. I should have trust my gut instinct. They work alongside with Brightside Moving Company and why only those kind of payments, they want to make sure you can't dispute with your credit card company when there is a damage and stolen or lost goods. They also do not want to report their sales to the IRS. You broke and damaged my belongings and then have the audacity to tell me you can't verify the weight so you have to use industry standard weight of which is nil. My coffee table was well over $800 and you are only giving me back $33.00? Movers beware!!! read more

More than 60% of our things were damaged. Lost furniture was lost and when called company about missing items was asked to look for other peoples lost items. Files a claim with their insurance company and it took them three months to get back to me and my damages of over $13,000 (generous low end) was submitted we got 200 dollars back. When it comes to this company, trust the bad reviews. I have had one of the worst experiences of my life with this company & I want to help others avoid this stress and frustration. There is a reason the BBB revoked their accreditation of this company. Let's start with the pick up of my things. They said they would arrive on a Thursday afternoon to pick up but instead came on Wednesday morning with no warning. Then the movers tried to nickel and dime me the whole way, and tried to have me sign all the paperwork for payment while trying to hide the total. It felt very shady. Next, they could not give us any kind of estimate for the delivery. Literally NOTHING. When moving across country, I understand that my things won't be there instantly but I need a better window than 21 days. That's a lot of hotel bills in the meantime. When our things arrived, that's when it really hit the fan. To start, the lead mover was the rudest man I have ever met- to the point he had me in tears when he left. Eye rolling, "duh" grunts, the works. I just felt so degraded- it was humiliating to have this man berate me while unloading my broken things. Furniture was smashed, picture frames broken, a computer monitor bent in half. The rude man was also by contract supposed to reassemble our bed, but instead he put a few pieces together backwards, broke some of the supports, stripped the screws & then yelled at me that I should deal with this myself. (I did end up fixing the entire bed myself. That's how easy the bed was- a 95 lb girl was able to assemble it with no instruction.) All in all, this company was a scam. Oscar and Anthony arrived in Ohio from Chicago to pack up my 2/2 condo. Everything that they packed arrived unbroken because it was carefully packed in Ohio. These two hard working professionals are the best in the business and the guys I wish had been the delivery crew. Sadly they weren't and my delivery experience was vastly different and disappointing. Highest compliments to Oscar and Anthony, honestly the best part of my move to Florida. The rest of my experience was horrific: 1. Delivery driver called at 9:30 am, identified himself as "David" and said he'd be arriving between 4-6 pm. He insisted that he needed to be paid either in cash or with a money order from the post office with the payee name left blank. I told him it would be a cashier's check from the bank and he acted like he'd never heard of such a thing and insinuated that he couldn't accept it as payment. I called Big Shoulders customer service and verified that I could indeed use a cashier's check. 2. By 5:53 pm the truck hadn't arrived and the driver hadn't called. I called Big Shoulders customer service. The rep put me on hold and called the driver, then came back on and said he was still 2 hours away and would have to reschedule for Saturday, and asked what time would work best. Rep and I agreed on 9 am delivery for Saturday 4/5/25. 3. Truck driver called me at 6:12 pm and said he couldn't be there Saturday morning, that he had to make another delivery somewhere else in Florida and if he didn't deliver Friday night, he wouldn't get to Fort Myers until Sunday afternoon sometime. He said those were the two choices; either accept delivery Friday night or wait until Sunday. Sunday sounded pretty questionable so I agreed to the Friday night delivery. 4. Sometime after 8 pm, two scruffy looking local men showed up and said they "help" the driver often when he delivers in the Fort Myers area. They referred to the driver as"Mohammed." 5. A few minutes later, the truck came onto the property driving too fast, and bumped and bounced over the speed bumps on the property. It appeared to be a Budget rental truck. One headlight was out. 6. The driver came into my condo and demanded payment before anything came off the truck. Then he proceeded to sit in the truck in the air conditioning and do absolutely nothing while the two local men unloaded the truck. I had paid for a full pack and load and paid to have my furniture unwrapped and put together upon delivery. I was told that there would be a delivery *team* from Big Shoulders, not a driver who subcontracted the unloading to two scruffy unqualified locals. 7. It was full dark outside and the driver had no flashlights or lights for the unloaders to see by. He had no ladder to reach the upper part of the truck, no utility knife to cut the tape off the packed items, and no tools like a screwdriver or drill to put furniture together. The two locals had to ask to borrow my ladder and my utility knife. 8. Damage to some items was immediately evident. 9. The driver appeared at the very end of the unloading process and had to ask to use my utility knife so he could unwrap the couch. That was his one and only contribution to the work. He then proceeded to sit himself down on my couch and inform me that I got ripped off by the company. He said that the company only gave me 60 cents per thousand pounds worth of insurance on the load. He said that if I wasn't satisfied with the delivery (and it was very clear that I wasn't) that he'd give me back my check. Then he said that since I had used a broker, he couldn't return my money. He said that the broker "Interstate" was a bunch of people in Pompano Beach and Boca Raton who sit around and do drugs and handle the front end sales. He said they aren't expert movers like him, and all they do is rip off "old people" like me. He even made disparaging remarks about the Big Shoulders team that packed and loaded the furniture and household goods. 10. It was late and the beds and other furniture still needed to be unwrapped and put together but the two local men were obviously not good for much except the heavy lifting, and besides that they had no tools! The driver was worthless too. My son told the whole sorry bunch of them to get out. 11. As we unpacked boxes the next day I realized that several things are missing. Eithersome items were left in Chicago, or they were "lost" or delivered to someone else alongthe way. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone who is expecting movers who care and are professionals. This was the most expensive mistake I have ever made in my 75 years of life, and the frustration of having to call over and over again and never getting the service I was promised in previous calls. If you want your items lost and/or ruined then call this company. My advice is run away fast!! read more

We recently moved from Mid-Michigan to the Iowa City area. Although the original set up went through One Source, Big Shoulders and Juven did the actual move. There had been some confusion with One Source, but Juven listened and calmly found a way to serve us. He and his crew were respectful and efficient. Our items were treated with care and respect. The weather was terrible with sub-zero temperatures, and still, they had our belongings to us the next day! I understand that cannot always be guaranteed, but it was a welcome surprise to us! MAY THIS SERVE AS A WARNING!!! I am writing this review to ensure that others do not fall into the scam I did. This company, Big Shoulders (aka BS) is absolutely unprofessional, dishonest and lack any semblance of decency. I hired them to move a grand piano from Chicago to Seattle. They assured me multiple times that they were professionals and this was something they often performed. This a complete and utter lie. When they got to the west coast, BS subcontracted a dinky moving company from Oregon who refused to bring the piano to our house. Despite the contract (which he had on this clipboard) stating this was a piano move, he proceeded to tell me that they were not piano movers. They left my steinway in my driveway on a makeshift dolly. The entire time the Oregon group blamed BS and vice versa for the lack of communication, etc. I finally had to hire a professional piano mover myself as BS never made any appts with one in Seattle. They only care about money and after looking at some more of these yelp reviews, I should have known better than to hire these yahoos. I will be contacting the BBB to see if they can be stopped. Terrible movers. Big Shoulders was contacted by my moving coordinator who was wonderful and did all they could to remedy the situation. P problems started before the move. They were supposed to call me 24 hrs in advance re pick up. They called Sunday at 8pm to say they'd be there at 7am Monday ... next day. Except they were 2hrs late. I'd gone over my inventory with their rep. Pick up movers told me I'd have to pay extra to have my couch, coffee/ end tables, mattress/box spring. Can't imagine not wrapping them so I went and paid the extra. The move was out of state but 300 miles away. Pick up guys said my stuff would be delivered that day. WOW! I was pleasantly surprised. Yeah ... no! Called to find out when told they didn't know. Today, tomorrow, a week? Don't know. Called my moving coordinator who was able to get an answer. Apparently telling me was too much. Told that I'd be called 24 hrs before delivery. Called in the morning and told it would be that day. Asked that driver call when 50 miles away. Instead called from new place yelling that he'd been waiting for me. Good start! Brought up stuff that wasn't mine. Pissed that I couldn't shut down the only elevator in the building. Yeah like that would make a great first impression on my neighbors. Announces that my couch won't fit in the elevator. What??? Keep trying because I can't believe mine is the only couch that won't fit in. That's when I found out that the second move wasn't actually a move but a painter called in to help. What??? I paid for professional movers not a painter. Suggest they try the stairs for the couch. He's not happy and tells me it'll cost $300 to use the stairs. I call the coordinator. She tells him no. He then tells me it won't fit in the stairs. What??? Tells me it just won't, to bad. So rude! Fine then take it back. Says he can't. On fine take it to the complex dumpster. No. What?? Are you serious?? They refused and left it in the middle of the parking lot!! Now in disabled so dragging a couch through the parking lot was impossible. Any idea how hard it is to get someone to move a couch from the middle of a parking lot at 7pm on a Saturday night? Lost a brand new still wrapped carpet, an entry table the receptacles for my vacuum and steamer, and other misc items, in addition to more having to buy a new couch. Let my coordinator know of my experience and rather than make me deal with them again I can file the claim with her. These "movers" even made me tip before they'd take anything off the truck!! PLEASE, PLEASE do not use this company for moving. It was the worst experience of my life from pickup to delivery. The quote was way off from the actually price (4k off) and nothing was reassembled correctly at the destination. These idiots actually called me when the driver was close to the destination asking did i know of any helpers that could assist the driver in unloading the truck. I told him hell no, that's your problem. In the last minute, they actually found a couple of guys who were horrible. I'm not even going to go into the items that were broken and the many missing items. You have been warned. Upon delivery, we discovered that we were missing a large dresser. This was not just any dresser, but one that had been in our family for 3 generations (very special), and was FILLED with family heirlooms and collectables in every drawer (to save space, and reduce boxes), that are irreplaceable. It's been over a week since it went missing, and I have talked to the moving company almost every day, asking for an update. They don't seem to care, and are not motivated to find the dresser. They told me to file a claim, but I don't want money, I want my family heirlooms back. How do you loose a large dresser? Did someone steal it? DO NOT use this company. read more

We originally hired first rate movers for a long distance moving service. They outsourced Big Shoulders Moving Co. Immediately we were charged and extra 1k from the quote once they loaded our belong due to cubic sqf, which if it was extra I do understand. They were good at communicating with is throughout the process. We were called a day or so before our expected drop off date, they were inquiring if we have space to park a semi which we verified numerous times that we did have space and did not need a shuttle for an additional fee. That was agreed upon and they stated it would not be moved to a shuttle. We get a call the next day with Big Shoulders informing us we owe an additonal $843 dollars for a shuttle fee which we declined the day before and the company just decided to do this anyway. The company they outsourced were just following orders but would not release our belongings without the additional payment. We called Big Shoulders Moving comany and were met with a cold shoulder telling us they are not will to help us in the slightest. What it feels like is a scam, and now with our things being unloaded boxes and furniture are damaged. Absolutely Terrible experience. Do not use this company. read more

Big Shoulders offered a great rate and was willing to adjust pricing when they realized I had more items than originally communicated. They also were flexible in moving the pick up date multiple times. They were responsive and followed up to ensure I knew what to expect. I also appreciated the friendly text message reminders. Finally, when they did deliver, it was in a record two days from Chicago to Denver. If you are looking for speed, reliability, fair rates, and great people, look no further. I appreciated their to work with me. In the future I would just make sure that if your items take up more space in originally expected make sure you go back to your original contact and work it out because communication is key. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I moved from IL to CO and they nickle and dimed me the whole way. They could never tell me when my things could arrive- I had to call every day and I was told multiple different things by multiple different customer service reps. They straight up lied to me when they said my things were on the way but I could still see them in chicago thanks to an AirTag I placed in my boxes. Then, when I was finally given a date for delivery (and I could verify it was on its way with the AirTag), the driver came a day early. To be fair, I was actually fine with that considering my job hasn't started but what if I had to work and had not taken that day off? They charged me over $2000 more than my original quote for having "more things than I had quoted" (I had 7 extra boxes...), and for "long distance move" (my apt was at the end of the hallway instead of immediately next to the elevator). What is the point of getting a quote when it is so far beyond what the total would be? I wish I would've gone with a completely different company who had a higher quote but probably would've had better customer service and communication (read: *any* customer service or communication). Finally, I when I had been calling every day, becoming more and more frustrated, they never offered apologies, never offered to make anything right. I wrote them several emails without replies. The communication from beginning to end was terrible. Would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Unfortunately, they made our cross-country move even more stressful than it should've been. I would recommend using the several other companies that are in and around the Chicagoland area. Allied, Chicagoland Movers or New City Movers are far more professional. - Provided incorrect pick-up time and date - After giving an estimate prior to pick-up, that quote nearly doubled by the time they were done loading - without any notice given. - They intentionally arrive late or on the weekends so that no managers would be in the office to help with any questions/concerns. - Threatened to hold our items because they arrived late and our public storage unit was already closed, even though we requested to start earlier in the day so we wouldn't have that problem. read more

As much as I hate leaving bad reviews, sometimes you come across a company so rude and unprofessional that it's absolutely necessary. There was an uncalled-for extra $1500 that I was not made aware of prior, and I refused to be taken to the cleaners. Finally, after an hour of haggling between the movers and the moving company (two separate entities might I add) they agreed to bring the cost down to the original agreed upon price, which apparently ticked the guy off because he was talking crap to his buddy about it in Spanish (he didn't think I knew). I had to argue with this guy to take an item that was on his list of things to take, which he said wasn't on the list and I specifically pointed it out that it was, in fact, on the list. One of his excuses being "I don't have enough room in the truck for it." Okay, if he wasn't going to take it, then I will not be charged for it. Again, a short argument ensued, and he finally took the piece. But what angered me the most was that he disrespected me in my own home. Along with talking crap to his buddy, he wanted me to sign papers he refused to place updated pricing on, as I already paid them. He tried to rush me through it, stating I'd "already taken up all of his time" and "this isn't a scam or anything." Everyone knows it's never a good idea to sign anything without knowing what you're signing, and he never explained what I was signing, so I didn't until I read the form and he placed updated pricing in the paperwork, because at this point I understandably had zero trust of this man. This whole experience was nothing but an argument to 1) make them do their job, and 2) standing up for myself so I didn't get scammed out of my money by whatever bait-and-switch tactic they were using. That's not the best business model (or if it is, they're screwing many people out of their money). I really hope I can change this review for a bit better when and if my things are delivered to my new house, but as of right now, I would say to RUN to anyone considering these people for movers. read more

During the move, my TV, smoker, and dart board were severely damaged/destroyed ($3000 worth of items). I tipped the movers close to $1,000. When I called about my damaged items, I was routed to an outsourced claim processing company. 3 months later, I received notification I would receive $50 back. Just like so many reviews here, my advice is: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are unprofessional, extortive, and will easily turn nasty on you while they rip you off. Sales called me quickly with an attractive price, but, when the crew showed up, they jacked up fees and extorted me for higher tips or "extra fees". They overcharged me for 20 days of storage, and the owner only gave me a discount because I was quite polite. Then, they didn't want to schedule a delivery date, only a "ten day window" which was resolved when I offered a decent (or no) tip. They used another company to deliver my stuff, and its owner was a dodgy fellow as well, lied to me, and demanded that I pay the balance in cash! His crew caused over $2,000 in damages, but the "insurance", 3 months later, only offered $130 upon a notarized signed form. What's more, I found out that there was no insurance company as the website boilerplate of the "insurance" company said in small font!! May this be a warning! This company is the worst. They still owe us money for services not rendered. They were supposed to move my grand piano from Chicago to Seattle, however, they never subcontracted a certified piano mover in Seattle and my piano sat in my driveway/garage for two weeks until I was able to secure a mover. They are terrible, unreliable and despite multiple calls to Ben ( my contact at Big Shoulders) I've received no responses, no refunds, nothing. DO NOT HIRE THEM. I booked my cross-country move with MovingAPT and the sales guy was great "You are covered with us on insuring your things, we use the best movers"....And then QA and scheduling and pickup started. QA was rude and difficult, managers were unwilling to help. They used Big Shoulders Moving and Storage to move my things which was the worst thing to ever happen. Not only did they take 15 hours to move a 4 bedroom house into a truck. But they took 16 days to get me my things across 1200 miles. My things were delivered with the industrial treadmill broken and unable to be fixed, L shaped executive desk destroyed, 2 book cases broken. When I filed to be made whole... I was offered $75 because they felt that was fair for almost $5000 of product. Please find and use anyone but this company when you search for a reputable mover. read more

I don't really write reviews, but this was such a horrible company that I thought I would help warn potential movers. I moved from Chicago to Florida in November 2021 and I wish I had seen/read the reviews before hiring them. As previous reviewers warned, I will do the same: PLEASE, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Two of my boxes looked like they were dropped and or have been opened, then re-taped. All the dishes in it were broken! My solid walnut bedroom, dining and office furniture bought from Room and Board left my condo in Chicago in excellent condition wrapped in blankets, but arrived in FL unwrapped, scratched, and chipped. The dining room chairs looked like someone purposely stepped on them. As if that wasn't bad enough, when the 2 movers left, I noticed a bag of items that did not belong to me. I took a picture of the bag and texted it to them and told them it wasn't mine. The response: "I'm sorry for the inconvenience u can throw it out or call the office honey - Cesar". What an idiot!!! The next morning, I called Big Shoulders. He was very apologetic and said that someone will pick it up. That was November 11th and the bag is still waiting to be picked up. read more

Everyone I worked with was very nice and responsive up until the move. The crew who showed up to move us was very rude and continuously upcharged wherever they could. They even hit me up to tip out the crew which I was planning to do, but thought it was rude to engage me for a tip. The crew who delivered and unpacked our equipment was very nice, but we did notice some broken and missing items. We went to make a claim and were provided a site to fill out our info.and told we would get a response within 4 weeks.. we are past that point and are now 7nable to get in contact with anyone. My original rep doesn't return calls, the claims company sends me I'm a constant loop of emails and online chats, but never provides a response. They really seemed like a great company from the beginning, but have not followed through. UPDATE.. I lowered to 1 star.. after waiting several months on my claim, I was offered $60 to replace the 600-700 dollars worth of items they lost/broke. Avoid these guys like the plague. read more

these guys are simply flat out rip off and lie . i was not sure how much CF i paid for and extra packaging i paid for and they ended up using my own card board boxes . That ia with pick up . upon delivery idk who delivered but every box was crushed and flipped upside down and can see shoe marks everywhere . they refused to cover floors and carpets and it was simply terrible . do not use. Never never use this company! Your property will be lost, opened, broken and lost. I used them for a long haul move in November. When what ever was left of my property finally arrived some of my belongings were missing and it appeared that some boxes had been opened and items were missing and then re-sealed. Some of the extra always attract you. I have to move into my new home so I hired Big Shoulders Moving & Storage on a single call. She understand and even she gave me some of the suggestions and packages which save me money, this shows that the company has some vision and know the value of their customer. Big Shoulders crew came at 11 O lock it was a very cold day and they reached in time and started to load my households. 2 people helped me out too in wrapping some of the items. Their coordination collaboration was amazing. Some of the items were too much heavy and on the second floor they intelligently loaded them by using spiral it was not safe but they properly trained. I got more what I have decided on a phone call thanks Big Shoulders Moving & Storage. I Highly recommended to all my friends in future. read more

*** UPDATE: When Ben saw my bad review, he called and got hostile. He said as a result of the bad review, they were going to intentionally hold our stuff as long as the contract would allow (up to 21 business days). We spoke cordially a few days later and he agreed to deliver our stuff in the upcoming week. Our stuff delivered on 9/16, the delivery crew was great and we paid in full despite the fact that several items arrived damaged (a chair, a futon, and a couple items within a box that were clearly marked fragile.) We are happy to finally be finished with this nightmare and sincerely hope no one goes through what we went through with this company. If you're looking to experience the nightmarish stories you read about moving companies.... book with Big Shoulders Moving & Storage. Salesman intentionally underpriced to win the bid: We went through inventory with John B three times. They were the lowest of the 3 other bids we received, but they were all in the same ballpark. John used the other bids to price his out the lowest. Damaged Flooring: The movers on pickup day dragged a dresser against our hardwood floor and left a large scratch. Movers on pickup day left gaping holes in the truck that resulted in us "needing additional space": The lead calculated what he thought the additional cubic ft would cost and he said it would be another 2K. When I said I would call the main office to discuss, the onsite lead said "if you tip us good (10% of a 6k move) the rest of the stuff can go". I gave them the $600 tip and they didn't take our grill, several large boxes and other items. We ended up having to rent a Home Depot truck to move stuff to my mother in laws house for temporary storage. Butterfly Effect: We ended up packing our car with what didn't make it on the tuck and paid to have it shipped by a different carrier. Unfortunately, in some terrible butterfly effect, the trailer carrying our car got into an accident and now our car is totaled. This isn't BM&S fault, but it only happened as a result of them not taking our stuff that easily could have fit on the truck. Intentionally Deceitful about Delivery Dates: Thursday 8/26 - Pickup day. Ben said the shipment would arrive "the middle of next week" which would have been approximately Wednesday 9/1. That day came and went. Thursday 9/2 - Ben said the driver would be leaving that day and the truck would likely arrive on Monday September 6th. That day came and went and since it was a holiday, nobody answered the phone when we called. Tuesday 9/7 - Ben told me the truck would arrive "towards the end of the week" 9/10 - I called to get an update and Ben said "maybe Sunday or maybe Monday". When I pushed him to get a firm delivery date, he said the driver has several stops before he will reach Arizona and that it would be "a couple more days and to be patient". Later the same day, the actual driver called me and said he will likely be here on Wednesday 9/15 or Thursday 9/16. Buyer Beware: When I first booked with this company in June, they only had a few reviews but the salesmanship was great and they promised exemplary service. I was assured I would have a smooth and painless moving experience and was encouraged to support a local business instead of a bigger firm. Since then, this site has been flooded with bad reviews and I can fully understand why. I see lots of people complaining about missing and damaged items, so now I'm wondering if we will ever get our stuff, if stuff will be missing, etc. Save your sanity, spend a little bit more for a better managed moving service. read more

Items missing, broken scratched, etc. the insurance company had us jump through hoops and finally just stopped contacting us after 5 months of filling out their online forms.
