Located on the main street of Wenatchee, Wenatchee Natural Foods offers organic, sustainable items, with lots of locally made products. It's not the largest grocer, but the selection was fantastic. We were able to get some grocery items here during our weekend trip and also tried the items that they prepare at the cafe area towards the back of the store. At the cafe area, they have a large menu of different drinks, with smoothies that are worth checking out. I loved the chocolate smoothie, which they make with almond butter and vanilla whey, so it's naturally sweetened. I also ordered a bowl, which you can make based on the different ingredients they offer, like a base of rice or beans, with different proteins and veggies. I customized my bowl with rice, curry chickpeas, avocado and steak and seasonal veggies and it served as two meals, which was delicious. For those wanting to dine in, they have a seating area on the side of the store, with outdoor seating where it's dog-friendly. It's a win for Wenatchee to have a store like Wenatchee Natural Foods, offering a great selection of healthy, wholesome items in a community-centric setting. I'd come back here again when in the area.

They charged us $5.00 each. One melon was so obviously rotten but no quality control. Second melon had a huge soft spot that your finger can go through . .We asked for a group of the tomatoes on the vine. What we. got was two tomatoes from somewhere. Plaza Wenatchee is a latin goods market that serves the large and seemingly growing Latin population in the city, foods and goods that may be relagated to an aisle at say the safeway a mile or so down the road. They have canned goods, beer and decorations among other things. Of course, however they have a food counter which was the purpose of our visit. My friend insisted we go here for burritos, but for me I was to have the Plaza Wenatchee special - the Cheeto burrito. Simple, a beef burrito, stuffed with spicy Cheetos. The burrito itself was large and as promised stuffed with beef and Cheetos, giving it a crunch in almost every bite. Nothing life changing, but a solid burrito for sure. If you happen to be out this way and craving a burrito, make it a Cheeto Burrito.

And they will count out or cut exact portions to suit your meal planning. My most recent purchase was fresh mussels for paella. I was disappointed but found acceptable substitutes. The prices are amazing especially compared to Safeway. However, when I was checking out the checker was obviously in a bad mood. He handed me my receipt and I thanked him. Normally the checkers are very nice but this one was a little rude and had a scowl on his face. I did not appreciate it at all.
