First we would like to complement him on his presentation pointing out a couple of very minor cosmetic along all of the good. The coach was everything it was presented to be and we enjoyed our drive home. We would highly recommend Hometown RV, Tony Senior, Sue and Tony Junior were very knowledgeable, courteous customer focused. We met some of their employees who shared their commitment to customer satisfaction. My wife and I highly recommend Hometown RV

I think Sue and Tony were great, but the RV we rented really needed some TLC. Considering the…read morecondition, I don't think we got a value at $250 per day. Here were the top annoyances: Air Conditioning - Broke completely in the middle of our July trip, the mechanic said it was quite old and missing some screws. It wasn't possible to fix on the road, so we had no AC for 4 days. Sensors - Many of the key sensors were inaccurate. Ex: black tank level, water level. This proved very challenging for first time RVers like us, who didn't have a feel for how often to empty or refill tanks. Door - The screen door was missing a piece of plastic, which created a hole for bugs to come in and the door itself required a VERY hard closure to latch. My kids could rarely do it themselves. Awning - Not functional; directions in troubleshooting book didn't match type of awning on our RV. Generator - Shut off inexplicably a few times. Mattress - VERY old and worn. Electrical panel - Literally kept closed with duct tape and wouldn't stay closed. Easy to accidentally turn things off. Privacy curtain - Held back with duct tape. Easily knocked open.

I worked here 10 or so years ago, as the Porter/RV Detailer. After reading all of these reviews,…read moreI'm laughing hysterically at how they still haven't changed. When I quit, the douche owner said I'd never amount to anything other than being a Walmart greeter. I should add, I was willing to put in two weeks before leaving, but Ryan told me he'd just consider that day my last day....AKA technically FIRED. He also refused to give me my last check. Well, he lost a fight with the labor board AND unenmployment, against me. He had an attorney, and I didn't, and was just a 21 year old kid at the time. These idiots FORGED a 1099 form supposedly filled out by me.....but my name was spelled wrong. How the hell would I spell my own name wrong? Had I thought faster, I would have gotten them for signature forgery. They also lied to the judge about what my job was, and even she knew they were full of it. A few years later, I was trying to get another trucking job (Walmart, eh?), and Ryan, the owner, LIED and said I had never worked there. Well, got the job, buddy. Now, I'm working an even better trucking job, 1500-2000 a WEEK. Much better than the measley, $9 an hour, under the table, with a forged 1099 you were paying me. These guys are CROOKED. I worked here for almost 2 years. STAY. AWAY.

RUN AWAY! Rented an RV over the weekend. Upon returning it we informed the owner, Ryan, that all of…read morethe water features: kitchen sink, toilet, and shower leaked. The shower leaked so bad it was running from the walls so we didn't use these features as intended. Ryan's response was that per section 9c of the rental contract, he does not have to guarantee anything other than the vehicle itself works. Reading other reviews it seems he doesn't even do this. I wish I would have read the other reviews before giving him any kind of business. All of the negative reviews are not a conspiracy- it's a pattern of horrible customer service and business management. Avoid so you can have a pleasant trip. Edit- we contacted Cruise America Corporate and they were helpful and apologetic after learning of our interaction with the owner of this location. We will not be giving THIS location any more business and warning others to stay clear.

I came in 2 years ago and got a fantastic deal on a 5X6 Trailer from Cargo Mate, and have been…read moreusing it ever since no problems no rust. Fast forward to 4 Months ago: I called Rich (manager), and informed him that we are growing and needed a bigger trailer and soon, we would need more. He was happy for me, and loves to see business grow. He is extremely nice, great salesman but it's important for customers to know what ACTUALLY happens AFTER you make your purchase. We purchased a 6X12 trailer which I assumed to be another Cargo Mate, but AFTER doing all the paperwork I was informed it was not in fact a Cargo Mate but a Commander. Big Tex Trailer World recently got bought out and started manufacturing lower end trailers according to Rich, THATS why I was getting such a "good deal." Within the first 5 minutes of driving off with the trailer I experienced a wheel hub wobble and flickering lights. When I brought it back, they gave me the runaround and told me "That's what it's supposed to do." After going back and forth and going to a different trailer place, they told me the wheel hub was in fact bent. It only took 3 hours of arguing until he "warrantied" out the hub-something I shouldn't have even had an issue with given that before signing I was told I have a no hassle "bumper to bumper" warranty coverage. Awesome, I got it replaced. 2 months later my leaf springs completely snap with the trailer not even close to hauling full capacity. I called them 3 times-all 3 times I got the same response: "I'll have to look up the warranty information and I will call you back." Still haven't heard back. I wish this company all the luck-they are extremely nice to your face and are really good at convincing you you're getting a good deal-but BEWARE. This Commander rust bucket won't even sell for half the value of what I paid-a 2019 should not be in this terrible of condition compared to my Cargo Mate. Good luck keeping customers with this type of quality.

Other companies I contacted simply told me they could not obtain the trailer nor did they have any information as to when they might be available. Big Tex in Homer Glen went out of their way to contact manufacturers individually, comparable trailer brand reps and other resources within their network to set me up with the best fit for my specs. I appreciate the customer service and effort put in by these guys and was refreshed to deal with a company that cared as much as I did about ending up with the right product. Thank you !
