New to the area & remodeling an old Nevada City house, I've been seeking recommendations for contractors last year +. A neighbor suggested Wildwood, but I didn't follow up. Jermaine & assistant came to install per amazon install date; they made call to wait until other work in build was done. I thought for sure I'd be charged for that visit plus rescheduled install. Nope. No additional charge. I've had 2 more projects. Jermaine is great, responds very promptly, figures out how to did unusual plumbing work & value for service very reasonable. I've even asked him for recommendations other contractors with his high work ethic.

So I called them up pronto, and got a hold of someone on their staff. I could tell by the tone in his voice that he was obviously a plumber busy on a job or something, you just could tell... He was kinda short with me, but no biggie. I get it. I told him my deal, that I needed help installing a sink. He said he could help me out & that after he finished with is current job, he'd call me back to discuss the details and to set something up later that day. Well my yelp friends, its been 3 days since he said he'd call me back, and its... crickets around here. Not a phone call, telegram, nothing. Now don't get me wrong, i realize i live in a small town, and things are done a bit differently around here. Im not dealing with some major corporation with a fancy QA team making sure things were up to par. But not hearing back from a company for 3 days? That's just unacceptable in my book. It tells me 1) they either have too much business for us "little folks" or 2) they simply just don't care enough and are resting on their 5-star laurels. This is my first review posted to yelp. And my hope is that it will serve my fellow Nevada County residents well. Wildwood Plumbing & Drain Service does not deserve their 5-star rating on yelp. Their customer service is meh at best. And when I say "meh" i mean, crapsville USA. I mean, c'mon. My wife hopes they just lost my number. She still believes in them. *Edit - My wife read this review and claims misrepresentation. I hired ABT to check out my older furnace, pre-winter, and Dennis was great. Super professional, and since I've kept it serviced, he only made non-required recommendations. His honesty, and thoroughness were greatly appreciated. He showed me photos of everything, explained all the parts that could be affected over time, and discussed any options. No high pressure. Very pro.

We had the septic lids dug up so we'd be ready if we were lucky enough to find someone who was available. Lucky for us, Bill was in our area so he was able to get to us in 30 minutes. We learned that we didn't need a pump for another two years, but we did have a clog in our line that Bill fixed quickly. He's also coming back this week to scope the line and let us know if there are any issues that need to be fixed. We love supporting local businesses whenever we can, and Anderson's Septic does not disappoint. Both Renee - who took our initial call - and Bill were wonderful to work with. I was quoted $75.00 per hour by someone else we used before but he was unavailable and they stated it would have taken 2.5 hours. When I told Gold Standard this the OWNER AGREED that he had quoted me $94.00 per hour and said, "well you should have used them then." These charges to me are unethical and unprofessional and should not be tolerated. If I had been quoted $188.00 per hour I WOULD HAVE USED someone else and there are plenty of options that are more credible to draw from. It is not the money .... it is not being up front and honest about the charges and sticking to an agreement.
