I was having some basic stomach problems last year. I'm not sure how I ended up with Dr. Ladabaum but it wasn't a referral. I'll make this as brief as possible. First, he spent all of five minutes with me in the initial appt. Then he scheduled a "flex test" for me (partial colonoscopy). I agreed and did the basic blood work before the test day. I prepped for the procedure (which is horrible) and was all ready to get the test done. Dr. Ladabaum arrived two minutes before and asks if I had my blood work done. When I told him I did, he looked a little puzzled. He went away for several minutes and came back with my results. Low and behold, something didn't look right and he thought I should come back another day and have a full colonoscopy. Fantastic! Because he didn't do his job and look at my charts before the test like he said he would, I had to go through the test prep ANOTHER time. Fine, I did that - like an idiot. The day of the colonoscopy came. I'm all ready and get wheeled into the procedure room. This time, he thinks that my heart rate is way too low. He pumps me with drugs to get my heart rate up (while the nurses all freak out). Then decides that there must be somthing with my heart (I'm 36 and in perfect health). This time, I end up in the ER (yes, the ER) having several people run ecocardiograms on me. Finally, a really nice ER nurse said she couldn't find anything wrong with me but that I should see a cardiologist to make sure everything is okay. I did that and the cardiologist basically said I was fine and that Dr. Ladabaum was reading the heart rate monitor incorrectly. Needless to say, I never went back to Dr. Ladabaum and never had the colonoscopy. I recommend that anyone going to see him think twice. I normally don't write reviews about anyone/thing unless something goes wildly wrong. This guy was unprepared, impersonal and just didn't do his job very well. There have to be better GIs in the city. read more
