I LOVE LA POBLANA! If you don't listen to any of my reviews, please listen to this one. Not only is…read moreLa Poblana my favorite food truck, but I would argue that it is one of my favorite mexican spots I've ever been to. First, the food is absolutely amazing. I've visited La Poblana more times than I can count, so I've tried almost everything on the menu. Tacos, Quesadillas, Burritos, they have it all. This visit, I ordered the Chicken Burrito with a side of chips and guacamole. The burrito was incredible. La Poblana does an incredible job of balancing out each ingredient. There's never too much of each ingredient. It's always just right. The guacamole is so flavorful and tastes amazing with anything you could possibly buy. One of my favorite things about La Poblana is that you get to pick what salsa you want with your meal. I always get a side of both the mild green salsa as well as the spicy red salsa. Both of them are delicious compliments to your meal. Finally, you will never have better customer service. The people who run the La Poblana truck are so incredibly friendly and kind. Every single time I order, I am greeted with a huge smile, and they take such pride in serving their delicious food. If you are in the Bloomington, Indiana area, go check out this truck. I promise you, you will not regret it. God Bless America and God Bless Food! Your friend, Dan Hanis

The two people running the truck were friendly and efficient overall. We were pleased to find that they accept credit cards (I guess that's getting to be the standard, but you still find a stinker from time to time that only accepts cash). Both arepas were hot and tasty. I had the chicken arepa and it was assembled fresh on the spot. I have no idea what an arepa is supposed to be but the tortilla/shell thing around it was very moist and spongy. It was a different texture than what I was expecting, but I really liked it. The chicken was well flavored and the cheese complemented the whole thing well. After I finished eating, I inquired as to why they don't layer cheese and meat rather than just adding the cheese to the top. She said that is the more traditional way to do, so they prefer to stick with that. Works for me. Maybe give this food truck a try for yourself before passing a final judgment. I think Juancho's has a good thing going as far as late night food options in Bloomington.

One platter was supposed to have ribs, they weren't included, and rib tips were substituted with no communication. When we asked, we were told they didn't have any available. The tips were tough, full of fat and gristle, the waitress offered no remedy. I asked for flat cut brisket, that request wasn't followed. I got very fatty chunky portions that a lot of my party simply couldn't eat. The brisket had very little smoke flavor and didn't taste fresh. The "tenderloin" doesn't look like what's advertised, it's a thin, frozen, fried patty, and it was cold. The baked beans don't look as advertised either and tasted thin, like they came right out of a can. The penne mac and cheese was the worst, no flavor, not even cheese flavor, which is weird. It tasted like noodles in yellow water. The lemon icebox pie was frozen solid with a refrigerator taste. This item was forgotten from our order. When I brought it to the waitress's attention, she told me she'd given it to me separately, that wasn't true. I had laid out every item from my order on a table and didn't leave because I wanted to check accuracy, since we could hear other customers with the same issue of forgotten items. I genuinely don't know where the positive reviews are coming from. Everything was low quality. We were disappointed and feel taken advantage of, given the advertising versus what you actually get.
