Wow. Really, just…read morewow. I stumbled into this store a little over a month ago while desperately looking to buy a dozen roses for my boyfriend last minute. I was very pressed for time and the English Rose Garden just happened to be located a block from my boyfriends business. Based off the location alone, it was a no brainer. The store was actually closed when I got there, but the woman inside was gracious enough to let me in. I very quickly picked a dozen of the most beautiful colored roses I've ever seen. The arrangement she made for me was stunning, and the fact that she was so nice and seemed genuinely happy that she was able to accommodate me was incredibly refreshing. Since then, I have been back twice for more roses, and on my last visit, I had the opportunity to meet the owner who was equally as cordial and accommodating as the woman who took care of me the two times before. My boyfriend still talks about the first bouquet that I got for him, and has stated on many occasions that the color of the roses were the best he's ever seen. I placed an order with UrbanStems well in advance of Mother's Day, paying nearly $30 for express shipping to ensure delivery by May 9th. The flowers never arrived. What followed was not only a deeply disappointing customer service experience, but one that raised serious concerns about honesty and accountability. On May 11th -- two days after the expected delivery -- I reached out to inquire about my order. I received an email from UrbanStems confirming that my order (#3880026) was "currently unfulfilled" with no tracking information available. This was a straightforward acknowledgment that my package had never shipped. What happened next is where my concern becomes more serious. Later that same day, I received a separate email from UrbanStems stating -- and I want to be precise here -- that "your order left our fulfillment center on time," attributing the problem entirely to the carrier. These two statements are irreconcilable. An order cannot simultaneously be "unfulfilled with no tracking information" and have "left the fulfillment center on time." Both communications were sent on the same day, by the same company. One of them is false, and the chronology makes clear which one. This kind of contradiction is not a minor inconsistency -- it is a credibility issue. Customers deserve transparency, especially when they are paying a premium for time-sensitive services like Mother's Day flower delivery. When I requested a refund -- which I believe is entirely reasonable given that the order was not fulfilled as promised, express shipping was charged for a service that was not rendered, and the delivery missed its purpose entirely -- UrbanStems refused. I was told the situation falls "outside their refund policy" and was instead issued a store credit. A replacement bouquet was eventually sent, arriving May 12th -- three days late and after Mother's Day had already passed. I want to be clear: I am not writing this review out of frustration alone. I am writing it because customers considering UrbanStems for a meaningful occasion deserve to know that if something goes wrong, they may not receive a straight answer about what actually happened, and they should not expect a refund even when express shipping fees were collected for a delivery that demonstrably did not occur on time. For a company built on the promise of delivering joy for life's important moments, this experience fell far short -- not just in execution, but in integrity. read more

My initial set of " The Peony and The Peony Tulips" arrived dead , and withered something I have personally never experienced with 1800 flowers nor pro flowers. Naturally I emailed customer service who stated and I quote "Based on the photos you sent, I believe your tulips are still in good shape and will last well in your vase with a little bit of TLC. If you trim the stems several inches and place the tulips in bright light they should perk up for you. Tulips arrive around 14-inches tall but with this particular type of stem, they actually continue to grow in the vase and can become top heavy, which gives the tulips a droopy appearance even though they still have lots of life left in them. Every couple of days, replace the water and re-cut your stems by about 1 inch or so. As for the peonies, I do want to encourage you to be a little patient with your peonies. They're really special stems, and unlike some of our other bouquets, they travel best when shipped dry and in bud form. So when you first open the box, the flowers may look quite tight and the leaves may seem a little droopy. But if you give them a fresh cut and get them into a vase with water, they'll rehydrate and typically bloom within a day. We also recommend stripping most of the foliage from the stems to help more water reach the blooms. Ultimately, your peonies will last longer in your home when they arrive this way. So if you give your peonies a little time, they should develop into the showstopping blooms that you know and love. Additionally, if the peonies haven't bloomed after 1-2 days, try soaking the heads in warm water for a few minutes then blotting them dry and/or knocking the heads gently on the counter. Both techniques can help to break up the sugars in peony blossoms that hold the petals closed. Thank you so much for understanding and being patient with your peonies. Please let me know if you have any further questions about your order..". After reading such an appalling gaslit explanation for poor foliage . I then re sent my photos and asked so what do I do about the dead leaves and spotting brown ones ? Finally the company offered a reshipment of the flower or 50% credit . I foolishly choose the credit only to receive another damaged plant "The Reed". Again this plant arrived with both welted leaves and damaged foliage. It's safe to say I will never purchase here again . read more

I am very disappointed with this company. I placed an order to have a bouquet sent to my elderly mother on a Wednesday for delivery by Friday. I get an email sent Thursday night which I saw Friday morning that the delivery would be delayed an most likely not received until Saturday by "close of day". I respond to the email asking what happened and they offer a partial credit and let me know most likely it would be delivered by Friday by 8:00pm. I check the fedex tracking provided and the update at 8:00pm is that it would delivered by 12:00pm on Saturday. Okay, I let my Mom know again that she should look out for it. She's 84, calling her multiple times to be on alert, not great. I check at 12:00, call her, no delivery. I all the "happiness" customer service line, now by end of day on Saturday. I look at the clock it's 7:40pm, call her, no delivery. I call the "happiness" line again, the rude customer service person Jonn tells me it is not the responsibility of UrbanStems but is Fedex's problem since they created a label. At this point the Fedex tracking still shows that the package still has not been picked up in Illinois, my Mother is in California. Now this not so pleasant customer service person says, it should be there by Sunday now, "should" be there by Sunday. I request a full refund since my initial order was to be delivered by Friday. She say's "you already got a partial refund", I tell her " yes, but the delivery has not been done when your company says it will be delivered. My husband listening to the entire call and sensing my frustration takes the phone and just request a refund please with no further excuses as to why the delay is not UrbanStems fault. I checked the Fedex today and it still says "pending". In the initial email to UrbanStems said they could not cancel an order but could offer a full refund...question, will these flowers now show up at my Mother's? This was the worst experience with an online company I have had in a while. All I wanted is for my Mother to have her flowers delivered early. read more

The delivery was scheduled to occur between 9am and 12pm (the person they were a gift for was leaving work by 1pm). I attempted to call the company when it was after to 12 to inquire where my order was. I also sent an email asking for a response for the same concern. 36 minutes later, my phone rings. I answer the phone to an extremely rude individual telling me to open the door. I told him that since it is an elementary school (noted on my delivery instructions) that he needed to ring the bell and the office staff would let him in. This is a safety protocol because this is an elementary school and we care about the safety of our students and staff. Once the man arrived in the office, I told him that he was 36 minutes late and that I needed the number for customer service. He refused to provide me with the number. I asked him for his name, he refused to provide that as well. Having an individual refuse to identify themselves in a school is another safety concern. He told me that his name was attached under my order and that you all could figure it out. He then began to tell me that I was lucky to even receive my order. I told him that I must have heard him incorrectly, because I did put the address of my location into the website and the website confirmed that I was at a delivery location. He went on to say how far her lived away and essentially blamed me for where the delivery was. He then picked up the flower order and told me that he would just take it and leave. I told him that he could not take it, because I had paid for it. He then left the main office of my school laughing. This was my first and most likely last order with Urban Stems. I have had several coworkers recommended Urban Stems and I was completely shocked with the customer service I received. What makes it even more awkward was that the coworker who recommended your company was in the office watching and listening as your delivery man behaved inappropriately within a school. #88242606 read more

I placed an order from UrbanStems the day before Valentine's Day, and I was impressed that the flowers arrived right on time, even on such a busy holiday. The bouquet was absolutely beautiful, and my wife loved them! However, I noticed that the arrangement seemed smaller than what I had originally ordered. I had placed an order for the double size, but only the single size was delivered. The next day, I reached out to customer service, and Michelle B., the agent I spoke with, was fantastic. She quickly asked me to send photos, and after reviewing them, she immediately confirmed that I had received the wrong order. Without hesitation, she offered me two resolutions: A full credit to my UrbanStems account, which would allow me to send another bouquet later (credits expire in 12 months) or a fresh delivery of the correct bouquet, free of charge, as soon as possible. I opted for the credit so I can send my wife a birthday bouquet in April. Mistakes happen, but the way UrbanStems handled the situation was outstanding. Their customer service was quick, responsive, and truly made things right. Beyond their stunning floral arrangements, UrbanStems also supports a cause that's deeply meaningful to me. As a breast cancer survivor, I truly appreciate their partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Every October, they design special bouquets, with a portion of the proceeds going toward breast cancer research. This disease impacts not only those fighting it but also their families and loved ones, so it's heartening to see a company actively contributing to the cause. Their commitment to giving back makes me even more grateful to support them. I highly recommend UrbanStems for their beautiful arrangements, excellent customer service, and commitment to making a difference. I will definitely be ordering from them again! read more

(Originally a one star review, see edits below.) I'm sure the flowers are lovely, but they were never delivered. Looking at other recent reviews, comments on the company's Facebook, and tweets at the company, it looks like a whole lot of people never got their Valentine's flowers. The company has also gone totally silent, even though their customer service is theoretically open through 9 PM. I'm disappointed not just that the flowers were not delivered, but at the total lack of communication and customer service. I'm preparing to dispute the charge on my credit card and other disappointed customers might consider doing the same. EDIT: Three and a half hours after the end of the delivery window, I received an email confirming that the flowers were not delivered. Ten minutes later, I got another email confirming a refund. While this is the minimum action necessary to ensure that I don't dispute the charge (likely costing Urbanstems in chargeback fees,) I am unlikely to give them a second chance. There are so many companies in this space which can, and do, perform better. 12/15/17 EDIT: After I sent a few followup emails, I did get a response from their customer care team. They confirmed that I was receiving a refund and that they would send an apology bouquet to the flowers' original recipient. I'm still not super happy with the way Urbanstems handled the issue -- they knew how many orders they had, ostensibly knew they didn't have the ability to deliver on them, and didn't have messaging ready or staff on deck for complaints until nearly 9 PM? -- but I am, at least, mollified. I'm upping my review to 2 stars because they at least openly owned up to having messed up and are making overtures to make it right. read more

Flowers never arrived. I scheduled these flowers to arrive on May 7th 2 weeks ago, I received a confirmation email a couple days before the schedule delivery to say that they would arrive on the 5th. The company tried to blame covid as the reason why my flowers would be delivered early? That makes absolutely zero sense if you can have my flowers on May 5th then deliver them on May 7th like I asked and don't blame covid for delivering early!!!! I I contacted customer service to say that's not good enough my mother's birthday is not on the 5th and I canceled my order. Customer service then reached out to me and credited my account the amount of the bouquet and promised to render services on May 7th after I explained that it was my mom's first birthday after the passing of my father a couple weeks ago. They assured me that the bouquet would arrive on the 7th I even received confirmation and a FedEx tracking number. By 11:00 p.m. on May 7th there was no delivery and all of a sudden the status is unknown. I could have utilized another service if this service didn't promise to deliver the flowers and here we are being my mother's birthday and she's left with no delivery no flowers. Shame on you. Imagine a flower delivery service not being able to deliver flowers on time and what's even worse is you send confirmation that my delivery is out to be delivered. Unreal. Could have at least given me the option to get flowers from a better and different service the whole point was my mom to get a beautiful bouquet so she didn't feel as lonely without my father on her birthday and you guys ruined everything. read more

Urban Stems almost seemed too good to be true: great variety & website, fair prices, sourced locally, & guaranteed delivery in specified time windows. Unfortunately, they did turn out too good to be true for me. I ordered a large bouquet of flowers for my wife well in advance to be delivered to her work on Valentine's Day between 8 AM and 1 PM which seemed like a fairly wide but reasonable time window. After not hearing anything from Urban Stems all afternoon regarding delivery confirmation, I tried reaching customer service via phone and email multiple times with no success. I did receive a mass email from them around 5 PM saying that they had an order surge that morning which backed them up and will get the flowers delivered as soon as they could. The flowers were not delivered until nearly 9 PM, 8 hours after the end of the delivery window and unfortunately well after her office had closed for the day, so they just left them outside on the doorstep all night. I'm extremely disappointed in their failure to deliver in the committed time window, lack of professionalism, and complete absence of customer service as this prevented my wife from receiving these flowers on Valentine's Day. I understand that Valentine's Day is probably the busiest day of the year for flower companies, but this was completely unacceptable and I doubt I'll be using them again as this was a miserable first-time experience. read more

Honestly, I would've given a 1/2 star review if possible. Where to begin, I had two different orders for Mother's Day; each got messed up and one was CANCELED entirely by UrbanStems without notification. Let's start with the one that was canceled. I wasn't aware it was canceled until I called to get an update on the status, since I hadn't yet received a "confirmation of shipment" email. After being on hold for 15 plus minutes once giving them my order number and asking for status on it, yes 15 plus minutes, I was told that "the arrangement might get there on Monday or might not arrive at all." (It was supposed to arrive on Saturday.) Needless to say I was furious, am furious, I held it in and tried to ask for more clarification since those are two very different scenarios. Eventually got the FedEx tracking number from them to do my own digging. Turns out UrbanStems CANCELED my order the day prior without notifying me at all. They didn't even have the respect to notify me. Now my mom will not be receiving a bouquet for Mother's Day and this is very disappointing. What terrible terrible customer service, especially because they didn't even have the decency to notify me of the cancellation. They refunded my money, but that is beyond the point, they treated my order like it didn't matter. Overall I would never recommend UrbanStems to anyone unless you want to be disappointed and let down. read more

I wanted to update this review since hearing back from their customer service team. The quick recap is they blew it on Valentines day by not delivering the flowers I ordered and then not responding to emails and phone calls. Judging by the other reviews here that seems to have happened more then once around the DC area. Fast forward to the following day and the flowers did finally show up. They were beautiful and my wife loved them. Later that night I saw that my money had been refunded and the customer care team reached out to me personally asking how they could make it right. I have to say they redeemed themselves in a big way and I will be giving them another shot in the future. Previous review follows: This place failed Valentines day miserably. Flowers were supposed to be delivered yesterday and they still aren't there 24 hours later. They are happy to take your money but don't expect them to take your call. I have called, emailed, tried them on social media and my only contact has been a form apology saying they would try to deliver today or some other time this week. SOME OTHER TIME THIS WEEK. And that email didn't arrive until after 9pm on Valentines day and almost 9 hours after they were supposed to be delivered. Valentines day was yesterday. It didn't sneak up on them. I ordered ahead of time and they didn't deliver and they still haven't a full day later. read more

I'll start the list going from the least bad to the worst. 1. Pre-ordered the Valentines flowers on 1/26. That's a little short of 3 weeks. Absolutely no incentives for those who made earlier commitments (you'll see why, or be able to guess from other posts here) 2. Was 5 pm - 10 pm slot, received an email saying "We screwed up today" at 9:42 PM giving me exactly 8 minutes shy of my expected latest arrival time 3. Of course, never got the flowers (but this isn't the worst) 4. 25 dollar refund credit for the screw up so I can buy more imaginary flowers? Don't try to scoop up the 99% of the customers who won't be returning, fix the situation first and provide rewards for customer attrition. 5. If you guys had sent the email about being bad at doing your own job (packaging flowers and sending them to their respective addresses) and tried to make up for it by being super transparent, keep the communication going. Tell us where you are and how you are amending the screw-up (flower business screw up on a valentines day is like Amazon halting their shipping line during Christmas? Worse probably?). Instead, to all of my 3 emails, Urbanstems did not reply. Everyone checking out Urbanstems should try out Westside market (grocery store in east village). Real flowers and you can pick them up for 8 dollars. They are totally real too. read more

I ordered my mom a bouquet for Mother's Day and when they arrived the flowers were dying, damaged and wilting- along with turning brown. I was pretty disappointed and embarrassed with this when my mom sent me pictures, I just wanted to surprise her with all her favorite flowers for Mother's Day, (especially for how much I paid I would think they would be perfect seeing review pictures online & that was definitely the opposite), they looked awful. I reached out to customer service and asked for a full refund and they said they could send me another bouquet on them or a credit to use next year, which I I still wasn't happy about that knowing I could possibly get damaged and dead flowers again...would you want that? What would you do? The service agent agreed with me she wouldn't want that either & so she wanted to look into things further to see if they could offer a full refund and to my surprise they finally agreed that would be the right thing to do. Meikah was an amazing help and I really appreciate the time she took to look into it further for me. I gave the company 2 stars because of how bad the flowers looked but I hope Meikah gets a raise because she deserves 10 stars for her amazing service. I appreciate her but will definitely be not ordering from this company in the future. read more

Valentine's day flowers never arrived! Heard great things about this company and have been the recipient of their flowers so thought I would send some. Selected the four hour delivery window. Called them midway through the window to check on the delivery status (just in case I needed to make other arrangements). Could not get anyone on the phone or a response via email or through their website. I've left two voicemails and two emails and have heard nothing. I JUST (in the midst of writing this review, an hour and a half past delivery window) received an email with a refund of my order. NO explanation no apology, just an email with a refund receipt. I understand it is the busiest day the year for them but they should have accounted for the extra demand or at the very least notified their customers that flowers would not be delivered on time so we could have made other arrangements. Extremely disappointed! UPDATE: Since writing this post, Urban Stems was extremely apologetic and they sent a beautiful bouquet free of charge to my intended recipient. I am still disappointed that the flowers did not arrive on Valentine's day, but they did their best to make up for it. In the future I will use them again, but most likely not on a heavy flower giving holiday. read more

When my peonies arrived, the package was delivered upside down. The flowers were not in the vase, and the vase was not secured by anything. Because the package was delivered upside down, upon the box's opening, the vase fell out and smashed into a million pieces on my floor. After I spent 20 minutes cleaning up glass fragments, I noticed that, because the package was delivered upside down, the tops of the flowers were also smashed. I called customer service. It took 30 minutes with a first customer service person and another 15 minutes of escalation to a supervisor to get the issue addressed. The peonies, however, are very pretty. The company needs to somehow improve its packaging in a way that makes the glass vase not able to slide around or fall out of the box unintentionally, and the box labeling needs to make it more clear for the delivery people regarding which side is UP. The flowers are a bit scruffy, not cleaned up at all, but after I stripped off some of the extra greens and gave the flowers a few days to open, they do look and smell nice. the flowers are fresh and have excellent beauty and sweet fragrance. I have not ordered peonies before, but I am surprised that they cost nine dollars per flower stem. read more

I ordered "The Firecracker" bouquet on April 30, 2026 for Mother's Day delivery on May 8 to my mom. Paid $88.32 including shipping. The flowers never arrived. Tracking (OnTrac) has been stuck at "Waiting for package from shipper" since April 30. I contact OnTrac on the delivery date, they never received the package from Urban Stems. No scans, no movement, nothing. I spent days emailing their "Happiness Team" and got a string of canned apologies, excuses about a "tech error," and offers to reship on May 12 (after Mother's Day) or give store credit. They eventually processed a refund, but only after I threatened to report them to the FTC (which I plan on doing after this review). This was supposed to be a meaningful gift for my mother, and instead it caused stress and disappointment. UrbanStems advertises fresh, on-time delivery for important occasions and then completely drops the ball with zero accountability. Their tracking is fake, their communication is scripted nonsense, and they rely on AI-generated responses that don't solve anything. Do not order from them if you actually need flowers to arrive on time. Save yourself the headache and go with a local florist. read more

Florists make a significant amount of their revenue on Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. Therefore you would think that a company that just received millions of dollars in funding would foresee this and ensure that their delivery schedules on those days were met. Not the case here!!! Terrible business!!! I ordered a flower arrangement for my partner to be delivered at her place of work. The confirmation stated delivery between 1 and 5 pm. Well, it's now 7:45, my partner left her office 2 and a half hours ago and still no sign of flowers. Called their customer service and no answer; sent email and got auto response saying they were busy because of Valentines. Pathetic. Horrible way to do business. Lesson learned. I will stick to local florists that at least answer the phone. UPDATE: got a refund at 8:25 pm. No explanation, no apologies, no nothing. Damage is done, I am truly disappointed in this company. If they can't deliver excellent service on what is supposed to be one of their biggest days of the year, they should seriously reconsider their business model. Whoever invested in this company at the tune of 7 million should seriously look into this read more

To say I am disappointed by this company is an understatement. We are so disgusting about the dead flowers we have received. My mother was left "disgusted" when her chosen flowers arrived early today 14th December with "dead" flowers that weren't as advertised and was forced to go buy for somewhere else. I would not recommend this company for your floral needs. Worst company I have ever dealt with. This is must to be a joke. The picture showed this beautiful arrangement and they delivered a bunch of stems and dead flowers We were mortified when we saw it. Totally ruined the experience for both my mother and myself. I will be ordering from a local florist going forward. We would like a full refund on all of this order as this flower is just not up to consumer standard. As we need to resolve this ASAP your timely response on this matter would be greatly appreciated. If I do not hear from you within 2 business days, I will forward my complaint to Consumer Affairs for further advice. I will also post negative reviews of your customer service on various social media platforms. Please see attached photos for your reference. read more

Terrible. Just terrible. I placed an order on 5/4 for delivery on Friday 5/7 (two days before Mother's Day). On 5/7, I received an email from them saying the flowers will be delayed until 5/8 and offering a $25 gift certificate. No flowers 5/8, no flowers 5/9 and no flowers 5/10. I called the customer service line and waited on hold for 30 minutes only to have their system hang-up on me before anybody answered. I initiated a live chat on their website only to be told they were too busy to answer. I sent an email to the customer service box with no response. After calling back again, I finally got in touch with somebody who told me, "sorry but your order has been cancelled due to supply chain issues." When were they going to get around to telling me this? The last communication I received from them was 4 days prior. DO NOT USE THEM. Regarding the response to my review---It is a cookie cutter response they use fore everybody. I actually did email their "happiness team" or whatever their customer service department is called. Their response was that they would give me a refund (to post in 10 to 14 days). Thanks for nothing! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Today is Mother's Day... and it's my mothers first mothers day in assisted living... during a pandemic... WHEN I HAVEN'T SEEN HER IN MONTHS. And she's in a memory care unit with early onset dementia... like... This is my legit situation. I spent $120 on a bouquet and candy for this woman TWO WEEKS AGO, thinking " Oh, that will be plenty of time with how busy this season will be!" Except, today is mother's day. And my mother is in an assisted living facility. With no flowers. That's odd... perhaps they'll just arrive later this afternoon... *click * click * click* of the keyboard to see the status of my order "There is no record of this order number, please check your information and try again" Hmmm that's weird.. as there was a debit of $120 from my account two weeks ago.... let's call... "ma'am I'm so very sorry as this was our mistake, but it looks as though we never contacted FedEx and your order has been left in our warehouse SINCE THE 5TH and wasn't delivered." -_- she refunded my money and that was it. The most garbage thing to happen. I'm literally disgusted by this company. read more

I received flowers to my address with a name I did not recognize. I texted a friend to see if she might know who the correct owner was. She did not text back, so I called the company. They said it was meant to be delivered about 10 states over from me in Nevada. They said congrats and enjoy your free flowers. Later, via the friend, I deduce whose flowers I have and whose chocolates my kids ate. I try to get the company to understand their mistake. I'm then told that the flowers were supposed to go to Illinois. I try to explain that they were supposed to go to someone down my street! They then try to give ME a store credit! They tell me that I will need to email the company to explain their own incompetence to them. I am finally told that they will take the correct address and fix it. I have no faith that they will, so I have to explain to my neighbor (who I have never met before) that I inadvertently stole his wife's Mother's Day present. To top it off, the flowers were not even pretty, but I did really like the vase! I'm sorry about your mom's flowers, Rush and family. Next time, maybe order from a local florist. read more

My only gripe is that it's VERY old school, you fill out an interest form online, then they call you, then there might be a game of email/phone tag to take payment over the phone or confirm additional details about the delivery. Next time I'll probably order elsewhere that has the full online experience to place the order, pay, and get real-time delivery updates, I just don't have time to deal with the old-school ordering process.
