This is a good stop for a quick meal on the big NorCal to SoCal drive. The counter staff is nice and helpful and the food is reasonably priced. The four of us all got the chicken banh mi. It was fine but next time I'd be interested in trying the tofu. The daughter doesn't do spicy and she got hers without jalapenos and with a different aioli. I prefer the banh mi from the actual Vietnamese place near me where I think the chicken is more flavorful. I'm guessing Urbane uses the same chicken in all their sandos. The staff here is super friendly, my fiancé and I were greeted when we walked in. There is plenty of seating inside and the restaurant is super clean. I had the UC Bahn Mi sandwich and it was sooo good! It's definitely a great sandwich to have on a hot day, it's super refreshing and has red peppers, radish, cucumbers, carrots and the option of tofu or chicken. I recommend the chicken. The sandwich comes with a house salad and balsamic vinaigrette, tangerine slices and feta cheese. Everything was delicious and service was quick! read more

Hopefully this experience was just due to the branch closing in an hour.. but I was recently disappointed coming here to get my usual sandwich and soup combo meal. The service was quick and efficient, but what disappointed me was the food. I quickly noticed that the soups given to me and my girlfriend were both extremely watery, and not the usual creamy consistency we know well from our regular Urbane Cafe. It was extremely hot and took super long to cool down too, it made us think that hot water was just poured into the soups by the cook and called it a day.. Next, it came with a slice of focaccia bread. This bread is iconic and delicious. However, both of our breads were extremely salty!!! We didn't like it and needed to dip it in soup to try to get over the saltiness.. My girlfriend didn't want to eat anymore of it. The BBQ tri tip sandwich had the perfect ingredients, and thankfully washed out the extreme saltiness of the bread. We also brushed off extra salt we saw on the bread with our own hands too. The Urbane Cafe is a small cafe that seems to emphasize healthy-eating. They're located in a shopping center with tons of parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly and quick. They have a variety of sandwiches, rice bowls, and salads. I got The Ahi Salad that came with mixed greens, raw vegetables, and seared ahi tuna. The tuna wasn't as red as I expected it to be (was more brown), but it didn't taste bad! The dressing (Japanese Chili) was flavorful and the portions are good. Needed dinner, but also craved greens, so Urbane Cafe it was! Don't underestimate the simplicity of salads! We got blueberry salad and the cilantro chicken salad-- both were scrumptious. The dressings were unique and elevated the greens. Generous portion with a variety of toppings that went with each salad. The mini cheese pizza was tasty. Their breads are really delicious! The main focal point of the cafe is their fire-baked focaccia bread. As expected, the bread was chewy and perfectly baked! Also considering the texture of the sandwiches, the balance of the flavors, and the well-mixed salads, I would definitely be willing to try more sandwiches from the menu. My son chose Urbane Cafe for our lunch. We arrived at about 11:30am just as the lunch rush was starting. He ordered the So Cal Chicken Sandwich while I chose the Seared Ahi Tuna Bowl with Focaccia. My son loves this place -- he devoured his sandwich pretty fast. :) My bowl was impressively fresh with nicely seared ahi tuna. I'm not a fan of kale, but their marinated kale was tasty. Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed with the focaccia. It was dense and dry, like rewarmed day-old bread. Overall good experience. The service was pleasant and quick. Can't Go Wrong With This Place When I first tried Urbane Cafe I was vegetarian and I wasn't a fan of tofu at all! Fast forward now the tofu bahn mi is my go to. It is refreshing and tasty. Although I am no longer vegetarian, I love that there are options that actually taste good and now just thrown on the menu. The staff here is always friendly and caters to needs. Urbane is still going strong. The unique bread and fresh salads have us regularly eating here. It is nice to know what your getting when you place an order as the sandwiches and salads are generally consistent. We use the app and pick up is very easy. As in the past from time to time they forget to add the substitutions we requested. We usually order and pay for extra dressing because they rarely fill the dressing container full. I have always found that the staff here is friendly but their desire to work as quickly as possible makes for mistakes in terms of special requests. We know this will probably be the case so we have to check our to go order before leaving. But, obviously it is worth it for the taste and freshness. The cookies are yummy too. I am shocked when people say they've never been here. Give it a try. They have indoor and outdoor seating for your convenience and plenty of parking. read more

It's my second time here and I was pretty underwhelmed. The first time was during Covid and I am not a fan of sandwiches but when my bf made me try the southwest chicken sandwich I was pleasantly shocked. However, this time it was dry and not as much avocado or other stuff inside. Not enough sauce for sure. I also ordered the seared ahi tuna salad cuz they said it was improved and I thought it was okay too. I've had their cilantro chicken salad before and I think I'd order that instead again. Yesterday I went to this location and ordered the Mediterranean bowl. It was nothing like the Mediterranean bowl in the urbane cafe in SD that I frequent and have ordered on numerous occasions. The hummus taste and look was completely off and not prepared well at all. The bowl is supposed to come with pickled onions and my onions were 100% raw! I went up to an employee and said my bowl comes with pickled onions he said those are picked onions when they were completely raw. I said they are not and then he agreed and said he would credit me. I used a door dash credit for this order and I still haven't received my credit. I won't be back to this location. read more

Probably my fourth urbane I've been too. Never disappoints. Was in the area, looking for something on the healthy side. This location is a little on the small side, but had to go orders staged right at the door and it was a constant flow of grabbers. We got the new ahi sandwich, the power veggie salad, Baja enchilada soup, 2 white chocolate cranberry cookies and 2 lemon coolers. Their cookies are seriously suuuuuhhhh good. The only kind and texture I really CRAVE. White chocolate cranberry is LIFE and lemon is a close second. They were warm when handed to us and we ate them as an appetizer while we waited lol Hubs enjoyed the soup and I REALLY dug the salad. It was a little "too healthy" for him and he said it wasn't worth the stomach space lol. But I ate more of it when I got home. The ahi sand was delish!
