We ate here after a long drive from Sacramento and we were starving. I tried calling to do a take out order but I guess they were super busy and so I was on hold for like 8 mins. I decided to hang up and just order online but my iPad decided to just lock on me and it deleted the order. My husband by this time had already driven over there to pick up the food, but he just ordered in person instead. The person taking the order knew I tried to call earlier and he felt bad about the long wait so he comped our kids meal. Very very nice of them to do that and the food was super good!! This was really good! I got the antioxidant salad and because I'd had food poisoning the night before, this was just what I needed. I think however had I felt normal, the salad would not have been filling enough. My husband got the Santa Maria bbq sandwich and loved it. We came to this Urbane Cafe after a long day of driving, the evening of 11/8. I was so ready for my favorite sandwich of theirs, the turkey cranberry brie. I ordered it with extra cranberry chutney, since often the restaurants only use a thin layer. We got it to go for the road. Come to find out that not only did they not include the side of extra chutney I paid for, but they didn't put any on the sandwich at all. A turkey cranberry Brie sando with NO CRANBERRY. Not sure what happened there. I wonder if they were out of the chutney, and since it was a to go order they knew we wouldn't notice until later? Possibly. If you get sandwiches to go here, be sure they get it right before you leave so you're not disappointed. read more

First time here 48 Tesla superchargers available and this is closest restaurant. $13.25 Pastrami Tri Tip sandwich which also came with a nice salad. Great recs from Phillip who was very friendly, knowledgeable and provided excellent service. Split on 2 plates for us... since we were 1st timers he gifted us a free cookie (cranberry white chocolate was ). They serve you and deliever to your table and Phillip checked back with us. We shared the Ahi salad and the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. I was starving so inhaled the turkey sandwich. If you like focaccia bread you will love this place. Focaccia for the sandwich and the salad. The turkey sandwich was delicious with Brie, cranberry sauce, turkey, and the great bread. Came with a large side salad, although the balsamic dressing was a little too tart for me, next time I'll ask for dressing on the side. Ahi Salad was very fresh, good slices of seared ahi tuna and a wide variety of vegetables, everything from radish to edamame on the bed of lettuce, and a generous piece of bread. It's located in a mall with plenty of parking. I do find Arroyo Grande wonderful, and an interesting place to drive because intersections can get complicated, parking lots have odd turns, and the hills make sure that nothing feels perfectly flat. Service was very efficient and the restaurant was a little small on the inside and very clean. On a nice day, eating outside is the way to go. read more

Foods great, but that darn door that keeps slamming the whole time you're there is horrible! Last three times I have been I end up leaving annoyed lol. Came here to charge my EV and was expecting Panera level quality since I never been. The food quality is so much better. The chimichurri steak was tasteful but not too oily or overcooked and the mandarin salad was very good and not drenched in dressing. For $14 a big sandwich and a side salad is definitely worth it. My bf and I were driving home from SoCal to NorCal and we stumbled to this cafe. They were closing within 40 mins when we got there. The restaurant looks and feel so clean. We bought a few items to eat on the car ride. Cilantro chicken salad, cranberry cookie (I ate this first while waiting for our food, and Chicken Banh Mi sandwich. I loved my salad, it was perfect and well flavored. The cookie is delicious with crispy around the edge and gooey center. My bf loved his banh mi sandwich but I like the salad more :))) I am so glad we stop by here at this cafe and no drive into In n Out or other fast food joint that is near by. We went her for the first time for lunch. Most of the menu items seem pretty healthy. We got the turkey sandwich and a tomato soup. The sandwich was good. The bread for the sandwich and side with the soup was also good. The soup changes, but if you can get the tomato soup it is pretty good. The people who worked here were very nice. The place was very clean. It was in a nice mall. There was ample parking. It is not too far from the freeway and major roads. We would recommend this place and would go back. We come here at least once per month. Lately the place has been getting dirtier. Sticky floors, grime around drink dispenser, tables and chairs not clean etc. The food is still good but it's getting to the point where we may not want to go back. I think the manger really only cares about food and the till. Hope things change and cleanliness is again top priority. read more

One of my first lunch sandwiches in this area, was at the SLO location about a decade ago, and it did stick in my mind as a good sandwich place, but who goes all the way to downtown SLO, fight over parking, to have a sandwich? Fortunately, fast forward several years, and an Urbane Cafe happens to pop-up almost in my backyard. If anything, I think that they improved over time, especially when you account for the pandemic factor. Since I was already shopping along that area of the 101, where there is easy parking and fewer tourists, it was really a no brainer to grab a bite here. While I did miss some of what was in this area of the mall before, I was very pleased by both the friendly service and the food. Their take on a Vietnamese Sandwich while really not too congruent with what one can find in a true Vietnamese Sandwich shop, was nevertheless tasty, fresh, and I enjoyed it. If they could have crisped up the bread a bit and added some Jalapeño slices to it, it would have made it more authentic. Next to the sandwich was a nice little fresh salad, which was welcomed. While I was kind of famished when I walked in and asked a million questions about the items, I walked out later really pleased, but did kind of wish for a item that could be super-sized. The interior and exterior of the store was very clean & well appointed. The outdoor area even had radiant heat, which is a nice feature for people who want to dine social distanced & outside. This is one of the few places that takes a fast food concept, but somehow makes it more classy, friendly, tasty, & even relatively healthy. Thanks for being here! read more

Usually the food at Urbane tastes really good and would satisfy me for the whole day. However, the tofu sandwich I got was not that great in taste. It was lacking and needed more spice and flavor.
