Urban Wok is Fresh Global Fusion Stir Fry: Fast, Fresh and Flavorful. They offer an array of options for every dietary lifestyle: vegan, vegetarian, paleo, gluten free & ketogenic diet. They're also gluten friendly! The customer service was a 9/10. The food was decent. The chicken potstickers were my favorite. The dipping sauce was delicious. In contrast, the rice was very oily and lacked flavor. It was my least favorite. I liked the option of creating my own dish and they offer beer and wine. Dining area was cleaned and inviting. read more

Not even worth a star. My husband and I had high hopes, in fact he even drove the 20 min. to grab takeout and when he came back home our rice noodle Korean BBQ dish and potstickers tasted like burnt wok oil. Extremely disappointed. Based on the previous reviews it's not even worth us calling to get our money back because it seems like they have poor response to customer complaints. If you decided to eat here I hope you have a better tasting meal. read more

Urban Wok - Smells and taste of burnt wok oil. - Asian Fusion Near Me - Columbia, South Carolina

Four of us went to the restaurant this evening. All of us enjoyed our food. It's set up so you can choose your vegetables, proteins, sauces, etc. We got the tikka marsala sauce, which had a nice little kick. We also ordered the potstickers as a side and they were tasty. Everything was cooked well and fresh. Service is a little slow, but that's probably because they prepare everything as you order. We all enjoyed our meals and would go back again. read more

Mediocre but not bad. They tend to be heavy handed on sauces so I ask them not to so that it won't be too salty. This is by no means a high end Asian dining experience so manage your expectations accordingly. It's a noodle shop. It's an ok noodle shop. If you are expecting a fancy dinner this isn't your spot. This is noodles. out the container in front of the tv type joint. That's what it's giving and for that it does just fine. read more

Opted for rice noodles; texture was thick and starchy. Korean BBQ sauce was just bad. The garlic ginger sauce was super salty. Had to pay a 3.5% service charge for using the kiosk as no cashier was available. Overall: overpriced small portions of bad food. The Urban Wok experience begins with placing your order at a kiosk. Choose your base for your stir fry (choice of different noodles or rice), then protein, veggies, sauce. As a vegetarian I can appreciate in all veggie option or tofu. You can also add an appetizer or dessert, alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. read more

This is not what I was expecting for the price I paid. The dish was dry, rice noodles were not fully cooked and I had plenty of carrots. There was a 20-25 minute wait but I didn't see hardly anyone walk in or out of the restaurant as I sat in the parking lot waiting. There was only one couple dining in. My order was the only one on the counter when I arrived for pickup. Wish them the best. read more

I took my daughter to eat here and she pulled about 3 hairs out of her food. When I brought it to their attention, there was no accountability. Pathetic And nothing like hair nets on their cooks to prevent this. The health dept needs to check this place out thoroughly. read more

You use a tablet/computer screen to select your ingredients. Pretty straightforward. Food is cooked to order, comes out nice and hot. Sauce wasn't as spicy as I hoped but still was tasty. Price is fair. read more

The rice was seasoned well. When you want spicy they provide you flaming hot!!! The service was good. It wasn't crowded and not sure how much business they get. It always seems empty. Hopefully, they are able to survive! read more

We tried this place for the first time today3/3. I basically I took a shot due to their awesome reviews. Bigest MISTAKE EVER, our meal was HORRIBLE! Hands down plain OLE NASTY. I just don't understand what's up with the Southerners' taste buds. Being a westerner, obviously, we differ. I could not find one single good thing about our meal . My husband and I chose the build a bowl option, rice noodles, steak (add shrimp) w/ broccoli, cabbage, green onions and the curry sauce , hubby had mango habanaro salsa on the side. The broccoli and noodles were over cooked and smushy, the steak was dry and gritty, the shrimp added cost us $4 extra per meal I got EXACTLY 3 tiny salad shrimp in my meal and my husband didn't have ONE SINGLE SHRIMP. $8 FOR WHAT? Oh, and we had chicken potstickers, I didn't realize someone could actually mess those up. Well, Urban Wok did! Sadly dry and hard. This food experience was probably one of the worst we have had since being in the Carolinas! The restaurant should be liable to RETURN our FUNDS for serving non- edible food. The two bites that I did have TURNED my stomach over in flips!! read more

Honestly, it's not great. Food was simultaneously over and undercooked. Maybe I came on a bad night but I probably won't be back.

The helper I had was named Tay, he was pretty sweet to us when we walked in. Asked if we had any questions or any help. Someone please give this young man a raise! read more

I ordered a delivery from Urban Wok on Killian Rd. I have been supporting this business since it opened and on this occasion my food was delivered to the wrong address. I called the restaurant and told the worker who answered the phone that my food was delivered to the wrong address. All he said was that the door dash person picked up the order. He didn't offer any empathy or apology or anything. After that interaction I will no longer support this business. Food is to high right now and the worker acted like he could care less than I didn't get my order. I can spend my money elsewhere if this the attitude of the workers. read more

The slogan "doing fast food a new way" IS completely misleading. I had never been to Urban Wok before, but for me, it was Urban Walk 10 minutes after attempting to complete my order from a kiosk. The gal behind the counter's only greeting was to tell me they only accept cards. It would have gone better if they had a menu with prices visible on the wall or simply directions on what to do like similar establishments do. I tried to delete an item and ended up erasing the entire order and had to start over. Finally I get to the point of ordering a beverage, but canceled when I find out they only have bottled water. I had no desire to pay $3.00 for a regular sized bottle of water without refills. read more

Urban Wok just opened. It is a stir fry, asian fusian dream. You order and pay for your food at the kiosk. You can sample any of the 12 sauces. We tried several. You pick your base ingredient (choose from 8 noodles and rice options), choose your protein, and up to 8 veggies. They also have appetizers and pre-made options. They have beer on tap and several other beverage options. My husband and I loved our choices. The proprietor came out to greet us and accepted our feedback. Highly recommend. Had to grab the take out menu, as my husband suggested I stop and pick up dinner next week. A new favorite for us. read more

Recently came in on a visit to Columbia. In a town with little effort put forth by many employees, this is a shining star of passion and effort to deliver a solid food quality with a positive environment. 10/10 Will fine again if I pass through. read more

I pulled multiple hairs out of my food and when I tried to tell the staff, they were very nasty and told me that there is nobody with grey hair in the kitchen. A couple of cooks were peeking their heads out of the kitchen and they hand longer hair (almost a male bowl cut) WITH NO HAIR NET. They were wearing hats but their hair was clearly too long for that to prevent hairs from getting into the food. They continued to deny that there was hair in the food, so we threw it in the trash and left with no refund. As for the food itself, it was mediocre at best. The steak was very chewy and pale in color. They could have gotten a better review if they had acknowledged the hairs in my food and made it right, but now this is the review that they get. Very unprofessional and nasty, both in terms of food and customer service. read more

Excellent food and excellent service. One of my local favorites. Every time I go, I try to change it up and get some thing new and I've never been disappointed read more

I like the concept of creating my own meal. This was our first try - no reception that greets you when you come in to at least introduce the process. Did not see the authenticity of the meal as it is being prepared. The workers don't even look like having any appreciation for having a job. It'll be awhile if we wanna try again. read more

My food was not good (do not recommend the Korean bbq sauce), but my wifes food was good. Luckily the portions were pretty large and fed both of us with just her dish. I added potstickers to my order, and to my surprise they came mixed in with the stir fry...thats....new. There were way too many options in a not so-user friendly kiosk that you order from. There are no plates, you eat out of a chinese to go box. Not really kid friendly in that sense. Just order it to go. read more

Food was not great. Waited 20 minutes for two meals that we had to order on a kiosk. No customer interaction at all from the staff except a welcome. $ 30 dollars for two mediocre meals. The kitchen also didn't let us know when our meal was ready so it just sat on in the counter for several minutes. Meals come in Chinese take out boxes and are pretty difficult to eat out of. They should offer done in plates. All appetizers are $10. $10 for spring rolls? Lol. Also added potstickers to my wife's meal for my son to eat but they mixed them in to her meal. She is gluten free. Overall a terrible experience. read more

We had a great meal! Potstickers were great and our meals were yummy! The garlic and soy sauce was amazing! Will definitely be back!

Way over priced and the food was not good! The kiosks you order from were really dirty too. Save your money and go somewhere else!

I do not know how food is cooked here, but it is not cooked well. My veggies were raw, and the sauce was so lacking, I am not sure if i even got any. Waste of $20+. Go somewhere else. read more

We visited the restaurant (in Northeast Columbia, SC) on Friday, 6/24/22 in mid-afternoon and was very disappointed with the both the quality and quantity of food ordered (asian wings and miso soup). We had already eaten lunch but just wanted to try the place out since we were close by. First, before ordering a single item, no matter what pictures you see on the screens, please make you understand the portion size you will be receiving for the cost you are paying. I did not fully understand this and ended up paying $10 for a 5 oz "cup" of some type of unusual "soup". I don't remember seeing this ridiculous size anywhere before ordering but it was printed in bold on my receipt; when I questioned the size upon receiving my order. You will need to also understand that your actual food may not look anything like these beautiful pictures. The asian wings were so heavily dipped in some type of dry "seasoning" that it was not possible to continuing eating them; even though there were significantly overpriced and I felt bad for wasting so much money on them. Mind you, if the food quality was actually worth the ridiculous prices, this would be another matter. Also, you must fully understand that when you receive your food order, your food will fit in a small-to-medium size gift-like bag...with napkins like you would find in the public restroom. This was not only the case with our food but everyone's food. There was one cook, a big guy, whom I'm guessing was the owner/manager, visibly preparing all the food and all other staff were either standing around (watching customers struggle to use the screens to order) or just moving around waiting to be told what to do. I actually felt bad for the staff because this place; with its crazy prices and low-quality food don't seem to fit into the area. I was really disappointed that we spent nearly $30 on this order and was not able to finish eating either dish due to the poor quality. Go somewhere else. read more

Visited location @ 1033 Roberts Branch Pkwy, Suite 204, Columbia, SC 29203 today. I planned to visit Jersey Mike next door, but I saw Urbanwok for the first time and decided to try it. So disappointed that words cannot describe it! When I entered the building, a very nice Asian young lady greeted me. She was very welcoming and explained the order process. The very warm and welcoming initial service did not equal the taste or cost of the food. The chicken was very dry. The garlic, ginger, and soy sauce were horrible. The pot stickers were dry and were not freshly made. Overall, the entire meal was more disappointing than my combination of words can do justice. Finally, the cost of my meal was too expensive. The food was not worth the high price. I had to get someone's attention for assistance to order from the kiosk. The employees stayed in the kitchen area. No one monitored the counter. They were all in their little world. It didn't feel like a restaurant. However, the young Black female who gave me my food was pleasant. First visit, last visit. read more
