Great food!! Service is great as well! Seafood options are great and delicious!!! Seating area is good and close to bar.

We visited Forest Buffet for the first time since it was renamed (and remodelled) for Eastern Buffet & were very impressed with the new layout (perhaps the same owners as Blossom Buffet on Sunset Blvd in West Columbia perchance, as the layout is eerily similar?). As for the quality & variety of food dishes available, whilst it is an improvement on Eastern Buffet's offerings, it falls way short of the excellent selection offered at the aforementioned Blossom Buffet. We will not return - we would rather take the 20 minute drive to Blossom! read more

This was the best Chinese buffet around. The selections were bountiful. They even had delicious frog legs, coconut shrimp, and oysters. I was quite impressed with their old school creamy jello desserts, just like my Grandma used to make. My favorite part was the made to order stir fry. I did shrimp, mushrooms, onions, bean sprouts and noodles. It came out amazingly delicious. The set up and decor was very nice. Last, but not least, our waitress was quick to pick up our empty plates. I'd definitely go again to enjoy more of the buffet that I didn't have the chance to partake of. read more

Food is rather OK, and probably priced a bit high for what it is, unless you literally go there really hungry. Probably good for families that have a bunch of picky eaters, as there is something likely for everyone, and it's quick, and the service was very attentive. Unless you have people with really big appetites, I would say there are better options in Columbia, that are tastier, more value, and offer a military/veteran rate. read more

WOW! The interior is beautifully done. Price: Lunch and dinner each include a drink. You pay, select drink and tip when you go in, before eating and 2 hour time limit. As of today, lunch is $15.91+tax = $17.50 M-F 11AM-3PM or dinner is $20.91+tax = $23.00 M-F 3PM to closing. Sat and Sun pricing is dinner pricing all day. Booths and tables, multiple rooms, and large spaces. Mushrooms were good, stuffed mushrooms were great, garlic green beans were good, salt and pepper chicken was good, orange chicken was good, noodles, egg drop soup were good, red jello cubes were great, bacon wrapped cocktail sausage was great, warm creamy imitation crab was great! Sweet tea was good. Recommend and love the interior. Soups are kept warm separately, there is a meat section, sushi section, salad section and hot rows of sections. Duck sauce and other condiments available at end of food sections, soy, s&p, sriracha and hot sauce on tables. I loved wall outlet in booth for charging. This hasn't been opened but a few days. It use to be Eastern Buffet. They redid the inside. it's very nice. The food is awesome. It's like most high end Chinese buffet. The staff were very friendly. It's not cheap but very good. I'm definitely coming back here again. read more

Tried Forest Buffett for first time today and it was really good! The buffet was hot and fresh and the buffet was constantly being replenished. They also have a stir fry bar that was super clean and fresh. I don't know what happened but as I was dinning in and all was going well until a group was set and it smelled like straight urine in there. It filled up the whole section I was sitting in but had to request to sit somewhere else. Sat on a whole opposite side of the restaurant and by that time my appetite had left me that's how horrid the scent was. As they frequented the food area there were other things that turned me off as I watched and was very unclean. But the scent even lingered by the food. Also, I don't know what kind of Rangoon or wontons they think they making but those mini replicas are terrible! read more

We had eaten at Forest Buffet the week they opened. It was good so we decided we would go there for Christmas. They were not real busy at 1:30 and we were seated immediately. The waitress was great. The food wasn't. The sushi was not cold enough. The boiled shrimp were mushy and bland. I love frog legs so I was really excited to see them on the buffet. They were overcooked, dry, and totally without seasoning. Not even salt. There were huge, beautiful prawns. I can imagine what they cost! It was the first time in my life that I took a bite of something and immediately spit it out. It tasted like kerosene. The rice noodles were good. The house special chicken was good. They have really good soft serve ice cream. My husband was as disappointed as I was. It certainly was not worth $40. We won't be going back. read more

I had a great experience dining at Forest Buffet. The interior of the restaurant has been remodeled and it's gorgeous. The buffet had a ton of options including crispy egg rolls, dumplings, fried chicken, lo mein, seafood, sushi and hibachi. The sushi was fresh and the hibachi was very good. The buffet was hot and fresh. My server was friendly, quickly cleared our plates, and refilled drinks. Definitely coming back next time with my family next time I'm in the area! read more

Since it is new it is very clean. The atmosphere is quite nice, especially for a buffet. While the food is very good it is not quite as good as other buffets, especially the one on 378 near Lexington hospital. The Service was very good. We will most likely go back but wish it was a little better, after all it is close for us. read more

Forest Buffet is a beautiful restaurant. The cleanliness and decor are amazing. The food on the other hand was flavorless and very bland. Which was shocking to us, being a Chinese restaurant. I highly don't recommend eating at Forest buffet off forest drive. It use to be a different place and it use to be good food. They closed down and remodeled and opened on January 21st as Forest buffet. Sushi wasn't the best so I didn't even eat the raw ones. The general Tso chicken was really dry, some was slimy. The crab Rangoon I bite into and it tasted like a mouth full of table salt. My sweet tea was unsweetened. I added sugar to it. The mushrooms definitely had no taste. The green beans was alright. I will not be going back. Paid like 35 bucks for that (Two people) Table waiters did come by often, I was actually shocked by that. read more

I have been eating here since it was Eastern Buffett. The food was ok, nothing to write home about, the decor was average but worn. Since they have remodeled, the Decor is very nice. The food has also come way up in quality. Since I don't eat Bait, I cannot address the Sushi, but everything else including the Hibachi is VERY GOOD. We have eaten here for Lunch as well as Dinner and the quality as well as service has always been wonderful. read more
