Our time at Urban Table was marked with highs and lows leaving me with mixed feelings. Pros: -CocoCrunch shrimp were good, perfectly fried, and the shrimp were a wonderful texture. The sauce they compared with was also delicious -Brussels sprouts were crispy and had a nice char -our waitress was the only person on the floor while simultaneously managing the bar. She was trying her best to keep everything afloat during lunch and was very sweet. Neutrals: -the margarita I ordered with mezcal was fine. It tasted like it had a premade sweet and sour mix. -the chicken Parmesan sandwich my husband got was nothing to write home about but was exactly as described. His sweet potato fries were also generically good. Cons: -the restaurant didn't appear to be too clean. The floor was a bit dingy and there was visible food debris on it. -I was served water in a glass where the rim had a brown syrup like liquid on the rim. Not sure if that was from a past drink or perhaps soda syrup? -the basil in my husband's drink was very unappealing. I know basil can be a finicky herb, but putting it on display in his cocktail was off putting. He removed it immediately. -having only one staff member tending to lunch seemed odd. Considering the building is two stories, I believe she was having to leave to potentially go downstairs to retrieve food. There were multiple times no one was upstairs. Came here just prior to going to Santa's wonderland. The building looks massive, but the restaurant seating is downstairs and the bar and lounge is upstairs. So the actual restaurant area is pretty small with limited seating. The inside was quaint and clean. Service was on-time and friendly. I got the give a dog a bone drink which is a sazerac that had dominant flavors in citrus so it wasn't too bitter. Started off the meal splitting a side Cobb salad which had candied bacon, deviled egg and avocado with buttermilk dressing. Our 2 main were the chicken fried steak and the black truffle sacchetti pasta. The CFS was good, well-seasoned and had good breading. But the size was a lot smaller than expected. Definitely not a shareable dish. Came with typical green beans and mashed potatoes. The black truffle sacchetti pasta was great! Sacchetti pasta is cheese stuffed pasta. The black truffle wasn't overwhelming, yet noticeable. And came with decent amount of grilled chicken. Very creamy and cheesy dish- this was shareable. While our service was adequate, the experience was subpar for a birthday celebration. We arrived for a 5pm reservation on a Saturday and all of the staff seemed to be rolling in with us. New staff were being trained on the rollout of a new happy hour and dinner menu. It was a little awkward. Our waitress had the memory of a Queen. We ordered essentially everything on the appetizer menu and had mixed reviews on everything. The biggest disappointment were the deviled eggs and the calamari. The star of the show were the potstickers. The cocktails were decent and I would recommend the HH Sazerac and a bourbon cocktail with maple syrup (seasonal but upon request they may make it). Still, there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the professionalism and atmosphere of this space. We didn't dare touch the expensive, overpriced dinner menu. read more

The food was outstanding and the service was terrific. The staff were very professional and consistently communicated with my wife and I during the event to make sure everything was outstanding. Chef Tai restaurant. He has been in the BCS area for years. He is known for their establishments. We make a habit of going to everyone he has opened. Urban Table is amazing! He has created a beautiful restaurant with an outstanding menu. He has also brought other menu items from his older places that are now closed. This has made me very happy. I went with a group of friends around 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday night to celebrate my Birthday. I was surprised to see that it wasn't busy at all. There was no one seated outside on the second balcony deck, so we decided to sit there and had the whole deck to ourselves. It was perfect because around this time of year, the weather is pretty cool. We were able to catch the sun setting, following with a rising full moon which was absolutely stunning! For dinner, I ordered the Rosemary Shrimp Pasta which also came with sliced Baguettes. The pasta was so rich and creamy, absolute flavor town! I will definitely be ordering this again. The calamari appetizer was decent. The softened Brie was also good. I did appreciate that the tables were spaced apart. So you don't feel like you're right on top of someone else. Urban Table is a really nice place to eat at in the College Station area! I absolutely love visiting this restaurant because the menu is constantly changing. The concept of this restaurant is so cool and I love how you never know what to expect. Restaurant: The restaurant has two stories. The upstairs is a lively bar area and the downstairs is a more relaxing and homestyle feel. I typically sit downstairs when I come here and it has a very chill ambiance. There is plenty of seating both down and upstairs. The interior is very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff is extremely friendly and constantly checking up on your table. Deviled Eggs: The deviled eggs were mediocre. The deviled egg filling has a very light herb taste and it wasn't too overpowering. The candied bacon on the top of the egg was a very nice touch! The only downside is the appetizer only came with 4 eggs. Salmon: The salmon was cooked very well and it was not too salty. The salmon also had charred marks on it which gave it a very crispy texture on the outside. The green beans are very flavorful and delicious. I did not like the mashed potatoes as much though because it had a very sour taste. Avocado Bacon Grilled Cheese: The avocado bacon grilled cheese was extremely cheesy. It typically comes with a tomato soup but we substituted it with sweet potato fries. The sandwich itself is basic but it is still delicious. Moreover, the bacon in the sandwich has a little sweetness to it. The sweet potato fries are insanely good! They are packed with flavor and crispy. Toffee Cake: The toffee cake here is so delicious! It is one of the best desserts I have ever tasted in my life. It is served warm and very flavorful. There is a mix of sweetness and a bit of sour from the berry topping. I wish the cake was bigger though because it is so addictive! Overall, I love coming to Urban Table because the food never disappoints. The ingredients are very high quality here at Urban Table. We got the truffle pasta, artichoke spinach dip, chicken Parmesan sandwich and the poblano soup. All of the food was mid with the dip being the worst. The poblano soup is just alfredo sauce with cheese. The Dr.Pepper was just syrup...how do you mess up Dr.Pepper. :( Ambiance wise the place feels stuffy and dreary. The lighting and coloring could use a good fix. Our waitress was very nice though and they did give us half off for the artichoke spinach dip. DO NOT GO. We have read the good reviews so we decided to go for brunch with friends who had read the reviews too. Clearly people don't know what good food is. First off, everything came out at room temperature. Scrambled eggs, bacon, potaotes, biscuits. Not even a little bit warm. So I watched as other peoples food came up. One groups order sat for 10 minutes before it was moved under a heat lamp where it also sat. The potatoes were being scooped out of a bin that was under a heat lamp. They were probably cooked an hour earlier. Nothing went into the bin while we were there Nothing was fresh made or scratch made. Everything is clearly frozen then cooked or heated. Biscuits are the frozen ones you can buy at the store. Potatoes were too. Bacon was clearly cooked at least an hour earlier and had been sitting under heat lamps, Cold and completely dried out. Coffee, room temperature. Now service. It was soooooo slow. There were only college kids working there and not a manager or adult to be found. Waitress comes over, puts her tray down to get an order, drops some of the food on the counter, uses her bare hands to scoop it up and put it back on the plate‍. We were happy to try a new spot that isn't a chain. The building was deceiving. I initially thought it was a huge place. The downstairs dining room was fairly small but had open tables on a Friday night. We didn't check out the upstairs area. The food, drinks and service were all wonderful. We started with the brussel sprouts. Those were delicious. We had the miso salmon and chicken fried steak. Both entrees were also great. My only complaint would be the oil. I gave this place another solid chance for en evening with my wife because I see they made the news recently about booming business after COVID fallout. I got the shrimp enchiladas and my wife got the chicken fried chicken. We both really enjoyed it (pics attached). The enchiladas had some good flavor and it was just enough of a portion. My wife had no complaints. We also got the spinach artichoke dip again with pita bread because it was really good last time. I'm happy to report it is still delicious! Very nice place, a little difficult to find but once you know where it is it's easier We were here in time for happy hour on a Wednesday. They say is upstairs at a table for 6.. I ordered the Brussels sprouts without bacon for an appetizer. They were plentiful and delicious, I love that they were a little crispy. For my meal I ordered a Cobb salad with no bacon and no eggs with the vinaigrette dressing. That vinaigrette dressing is a show stopper. It was recommended by the waitress and she did not steer me wrong. 100% recommend. I did order a drink off the cocktail menu, I don't remember the name but I asked for no simple syrup in it. It came out and damn it was strong. the round ice cube they put in it was such a cute fancy touch. This is a good place for a group of 6-8 people. Try it out. read more

My food was way over season/covered in pepper. When asked, the gentlemen at the table said their burgers were just "ok". For a $90 tab I'm not headed back. The service was fine, the food tasted good, but the portion sizes for some of the items were greatly reduced from what they once were. We've been going to this restaurant for years, and tonight was the first time that we were ever disappointed. The baked Brie was the most disappointing. There was barely enough brie for one piece of toast. The nuts and fruit were good on the toast, but there was not enough brie for each piece of toast served. We had a lot of issues the night we chose to eat here; don't know if they had just fired a chef or if one had walked off the job right after our order was placed. First, it took about 45 minutes for them to realize that they had totally lost our entire order - all seven people. This was after the server came out about twenty minutes prior and said our order was almost ready....OK. So we resubmitted the entire order, promised it would be the first one submitted. Later we found out that another table had similar issues and was comped a bottle of wine (or two). Once our order came out, most of the food was good, but my wife's falafel plate was missing a key ingredient - falafel! Even after pointing that out to the server and getting his apologies, the bill came without any mention of removing the falafel-less falafel plate. So I had to insist that he take my wife's plate off, which the server did. It sounds like they were going through a rough night - that's why I'm adding one more star. But the other family we were with made it clear that they would not likely be coming back over the next four years while their daughter (the roommate of ours) was at A&M. Urban Table had a large variety where nothing seemed to miss, from their pasta to their burgers to their chicken, it was all tasty. The service was friendly and prompt, and we had a very lovely waitress. The ambiance was perfect for a nice dinner with my friends, and the vibe was perfection for our night out. Definitely give it a try! Came for brunch on Mother's Day with a party of 9. Service was horribly slow and food, when we finally received it, was not very good. Chicken fried steak was tough, burgers over cooked, and everything was lukewarm. When the waitress served our drinks, I noticed we did not have silverware on the table so I asked her to bring some and told her I needed it to stir my coffee after adding cream and sugar. She showed back up about 10 minutes later and I reminded her we still needed silverware. About 5 minutes later, she shows up with one set of silverware and hands it to my nephew at the complete other end of the table and said she was still hunting down more silverware. Was wondering why she didn't give it to the person who had asked her for it twice and mentioned needing it to stir coffee before drinking it. By this time my coffee was ice cold. It was still a while before everyone got silverware. When those of us drinking coffee got refills, the coffee was full of grounds. At the end, my husband and sister-in-law each gave the waitress a credit card and asked her to split the cost evenly between the 2 cards. She came back with 2 receipts and they each signed one of them and we went on our way. A little while later, I noticed our credit card had been charged twice for the exact same amount. I contacted my sister-in-law and she checked her card and she had not been charged at all. She checked her copy of the receipt she had signed and it had our credit card number on it. The waitress had run our card for both halves of the bill. Rather than call the restaurant and deal with the hassle of getting them to fix it, my sister-in-law just Venmoed me her half of the bill. I noticed other tables around us also had very long wait times before receiving their food. In fact, one mom of several young children had a few words with some of the staff saying they would have gone elsewhere if they had known it would take so long. Her kids were hungry and cranky and they were ready to walk but their food miraculously showed up after she complained. Bottom line...I do not recommend this restaurant. read more
