    Table with broth

Great portions and fresh ingredients. Was a little overwhelming for a first timer - there aren't many instructions or staff around helping. But there is a fun robot that brings around food which is cool.

As a big fan of hot pot, I had to try this spot by Columbia Mall. This place has parallel parking out front and shares the mall parking lot so theres plenty of spaces. This place is a bit smaller than most hot pot places ive been to but the service was great. You take your order on a tablet and a robot will bring your food. The servers will clear plates often to keep the table clean. The food was great. The broths were flavorful, meats and veggies are fresh, but the sauce bar was lacking. They didn't have as many options and dont keep it well stocked. They do have buffet hot plates with fried foods like shrimp, chicken nuggets which were decent. With tip, it ended up being right under $100. Great place!

Loved ordering from the iPad, the food kept coming. We ordered multiple times and got several rounds of meat, mushrooms, bean sprouts, fungai, udon and ramen noodles. Portions were generous and fresh. We had cake and tapioca coconut dessert, so yummy. Friendly staff, definitely coming back!

I had a wonderful lunch at Urban Hot Pot. I have never eaten hot pot by myself before and didn't know what to expect on portion size. So I ordered what I wanted to eat thinking they would give me small portions, but they have very generous portions and I couldn't quite finish. The hot pot ingredients were very fresh and clean. I ordered medium spicy and it didn't taste as spicy as I expected, so next time I can try spicy. They had the robot guys bring plates to people, I wish I had more stomach room to order more food so that the robot can come to my table. So fancy and modern! The restaurant is conveniently located right across the street from the mall. Parking was easy. Bathroom was clean.

Urban Hot Pot offers a unique experience of all-you-can eat hot pot of veggies, meats and seafood within your own personal hot pot. It's a different way of experiencing food and I highly recommend. The wait for a table can be at least 40 minutes during the weekend so I suggest getting there before the lunch or dinner rush. I believe there is a two hour limit once you are seated. Once seated you order your food via a tablet and the food comes out quickly. We ordered a ton of meats, seafood and veggies. It was a great experience to cook your own meal at the table. The robot, Jessica brought out some of our dishes. My favorites included the sliced US beef, octopus, baby bok Choy and all of the mushrooms. Be aware most of the broths are pork based, the veggie and chicken broths are both good. The spice levels can we very intense, I prefer the less spicy option. The price for the hot pot is about $35 per person and dessert is included. I will definitely be coming back.

One of my favorite hot pot places in the area. The broth, vegetables and cuts of meat are always consistent. Yes some of the meats come out frozen, but 2-3 mins in your steaming hot broth will cook everything. The location has tables on both sides. There's a conveyor belt in the middle with some random ingredients. I really like the high ceilings and Koi fish lights on the ceiling. The music here can be a bit loud if you plan on taking any calls. I've come here for lunch and dinner. Dinner is about $10 more at $35. You get some more premium cuts of meat and they offer better seafood options a la carte. Service here is always on point. There's always a staff member close to you ready to clean your table, refill your drinks and the food comes out really quickly. They even feature those robots now to deliver your food. The sauce station is always clean. Definitely try their meat sauce. If you're by the mall or Columbia in general this is the spot for hot pot.

Regular diner here!! Like mentioned in my last review, me and my girlies always come every few months to have some good food and catch up. We love it here. Here are some recommendations when ordering: (MY) ORDER: Pick 2 seafood boil (snowcrab + crawfish) SUB sausage for extra corn. SAUCE: x2 Cajun, x1 garlic butter, x1 lemon pepper (yes, I order the sauces just like that) SPICY SERVICE: for how busy they typically are, they do great.... There's also a call button on the iPad if you need AMBIANCE: love it. All booth seats

Tip: Pack your patience if you get there when it's busy; the wait can be lengthy. Urban Hot Pot is a unique hot pot spot because it has a Cajun seafood broil menu. We did both hot pot and ordered off the Cajun seafood broil menu. The hot pot is the Individual pot style. The menu consists of the standard hot pot items; meats, veggies, seafood, etc. The Cajun seafood broil menu had a variety of different options that was a mix of crab legs, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and crawfish. You can add extras of some items for an extra costs. The flavor was excellent and fulfilling even without any extras. It would be nice to have more options by the pound of an item rather than base options that's not specified to one item. Note, not all items were available for extras that we wanted. For example, we wanted more crab legs than sausage. Based on the available additional options, what we wanted extra and for the price; we ended up just getting an entire bag of Cajun seafood broil to make sense of the price. We shared the extra bag. It would have been nice to just order an extra pound of crab legs. Overall the dual option of hot pot and Cajun seafood broil was a plus and great. We'd definitely go back again.

Great food, pretty good service and chill atmosphere. We ordered (kind of over ordered lol) so many things as it was our first time. We just had fun choosing things off the iPad. I will definitely go again!

Tom Yum Soup was delicious with lots of garlic.

The quality of the meat is good, but I just feel like there could be more options and consistency. For example, I am a fiend for enoki mushrooms and they never have them. My family also loves watercress and it depends on the day if they have them. They changed their winter melon tea to a plum tea as well. Service: 5/5 polite staff, no complaints! Just be aware you get up to grab your own meats/seafood/veggies as well as the sauces. The servers are there for the initial broth placement orders, drinks, and if you need additional help there are server assistance buttons at each table. Ambiance: Every time I have been here, the place is not too crowded or loud at all. Plenty of tables to seat 4, some partially enclosed tables for parties of 6-7, and a round table to accommodate 8. There is a TV in the center playing dramas or music videos but usually no audio. Parking: large shopping center parking lot, but it can be busy.

They have a great 12-4pm lunch special on weekdays, two-hours of grill-it-yourself All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ or Hot Pot (pho-like soup) for $21, (less for kids). Arriving about 12:15pm, we were seated by the alert host with no wait. I think they could fit around 40 in booths for 4 to 6. There's a whole other area further in for maybe 50 more, with some tables for large groups. The room was lively with conversation and music. We were immediately greeted by our attentive friendly fun server, Mahlah, who explained it all to us: menu choices and pricing, the wireless ordering-tablet, techniques for grilling, and the buffet appetizers and desserts. She lit the grill that is built into our table, and took our first order so we could start in as soon as we got back from the buffet. At the buffet we filled a dish with nicely-fiery flavorful kimchee and a similar spicy mix with tofu. We got lettuce, carrot shreds, and fresh tomato chunks. Warm sesame-covered mochi-rice balls, lightly sweet and fresh with a chewy inside. Fresh hot finger-thin 2-inch spring-rolls, crispy and flakey with a little bit of veggies inside. I got small hot flakey crispy rangoon triangles filled with cream cheese with just a little crab-flavor. I ate a couple to manage that spicy kimchee and tofu :-). They had fries and breaded shrimp and chicken wings, too. We filled smaller bowls with several of their dozen or more flavorful sauces, from a KPOT signature red sweet bbq sauce, to a pretty-spicy red sauce, to a bowl of soy-sauce to which we added chives and onions and garlic and jalapeños and such. All very tasty and fresh. The lunch-menu Korean BBQ offered a wide selection of meats and seafood and veg. Mahlah was always nearby, watchful for any requests, and brought our first course in mere minutes. The "spicy" bulgogi beef was cut in medium-thick slices, maybe 1/8-in thick, and it cooked quickly while staying very juicy and very tender. The prime brisket was cut in thicker slabs, maybe 1/4-in, and it was marbled enough for good juicy flavor and tender texture even on this hot grill. We used the scissors to size it down for eating. The beef-belly was very thinly sliced, paper-thin, and it cooked up in a flash, getting a a slight crust like a well-done Italian porchetta. That took some practice to cook without almost evaporating it! The trick? The table-grill is hottest in the middle, so cook delicate foods around the edge of the grill. We had tender chunks and strips of juicy marinated garlic-chicken breast, and tender juicy good-sized garlic-shrimp, which were both very easy to grill. We tried some thick slices and long tangles of squid, and they were tasty but we didn't really figure out how to keep them tender, so we cut them up into smaller pieces with the scissors and marinated them in soy sauce which really enhanced the slight char. We grilled sliced white onion, thin zucchini circles, chunks of fresh green peppers, thin tasty white oyster mushroom discs, and thicker chunks of peppers and portobello mushrooms. On we go! We ordered twice more. An order of the thicker cuts of pork-belly, which came out like fancy not-salty bacon. Bright-red "spicy" (not very spicy) sweet juicy white-fish fillets, which cooked fast! Sweet tender "Hawaiian" bulgogi, which we spiced up with sauce from the buffet. More of those tasty garlic-shrimp. Probably a few more items that I'm not remembering right now. For dessert we got some little chocolate ice cream and fruit-flavor sherbet cups from the freezer by the buffet, and chose tiny wooden spoons just for fun, instead of the available silverware. We got fresh fruit and a slice of light cake with a light creamy layer on top. Then Mahlah overheard one of us say "birthday"! She laughingly scolded us for not telling her sooner, quickly came back with a large wonderful slice of delicious super-light cheesecake with a candle, and happily sang Happy Birthday with us! It felt like another friend had joined us! Luckily, one who remembered the cake :-) We ate for nearly two hours, until we couldnt eat any more! It was so much fun, and we chattered happily the whole time as we were adding to the grill or serving or sneaking tastes along the way :-). We thoroughly enjoyed our tasty flavorful generous meal. KPOT is a great fun place for fresh grill-it-yourself foods. There's five more KPOTs within 45min and several more within an hour. I had no idea! But this is the only location with Mahlah, our lovely friendly skillful server.
