I like the concept and was looking forward to this place. Wasn't a fan of the quality of some of the beef cuts (fat is OK, but grisly and tough is not). The kalbi was barely edible; all bone although marinade was OK. Not sure what they served that supposed to be ribeye, but it was way too lean (no marbling at all) and tough. Cumin lamb chunks were good, although a little light on seasoning. The shrimp and scallops were barely defrosted, but seemed fresh. The buffet was pretty mediocre; I was hoping for something really homestyle although I did like the tomato egg dish (one of my favorites). I always find it amusing places put fries and chicken tenders on these buffets, but I get that people have to feed the kids (however I didn't see any at all; who's eating this stuff?). If you're a fan of Chinese BBQ and all you can eat dining, this place is a gem. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was clean and inviting. The selection of meats was great, you get to choose between legend and premium. The standout of our experience was definitely the service. Matthew made sure our table was taken care of throughout the entire meal. He was attentive, friendly, and always checked in at just the right time without being intrusive. The quality of the BBQ was great. The grills can take awhile to cook the meat so take care to not overcook them. This is from the POV of someone who has experienced KBBQ in Annandale, VA and SoCal. I wanted to like this place but it ain't it. + Presentstion was cool. Chill atmosphere. + Prices were fair. Not too crazy. Clear pricing on the Protien. - Customer Service was mixed. Some avoided eye contact. Dirty plates were stacked. Hard to get hold of a waiter even after summoning them on the tablet. Our burner was defective (only really hot was one corner) and all they said was "just turn it" and added oil for the fat to grease fire to make the illusion there was more heat... - Speaking of the burners. The waiter stated that all burners have that issue. The design. Fake coal stone on top of burners. The issue is the burners weren't even heating the coals. We literally spent double time because it took forever to cook the meat we ordered. I even debated switching tables but they said the issue will be the same. They gave us more oil to use as grease fire to cook faster. Who does that? - Food was just okay. It smelled funny raw. The weirdest revelation was no Bulgogi. In the last 20 years, I've never been to a KBBQ spot where it didn't have Bulgogi. KBBQ connoisseur's beware. 2 stars for presentation and pricing. -3 stars for Customer Service, quality of food, and Burner issues. Save yourself some money. Go somewhere else. read more

I really wanted to be into Meating BBQ, but it was very disappointing. Meat kind of smells, flavored meat has an odd flavor. A lot of the meat served is tough, and just not worth it. Kind of defeats the purpose of going to a BBQ spot. It's pretty pricey too. I'd pass on this one. read more

This is a very sad bbq place to eat, it's like a TEMU version of Korean bbq, they need to work on their sauces, the sides, meat and dessert in short everything! The meat choices are very few $27 for non member then bumped it up to $42 for just a few add ons is very disappointing, the flavors ..? Well they don't have very much flavors in them... it feels like the owner didn't even plan and study how to beat Kpot and the rest, they'd just open up a bbq place without even thinking, the price point? Soft openings are...well...challenging. Not certain who benefits if anyone. I was mystified by the name -Meating?- and was further puzzled upon a quick visit/review. Did not like the presentation - when it comes to food that's an important asset. Vegetables looked soggy, soaked in too much liquid. Cabbage was overdone and soggy as well. Some items were named, others were not. They should replenish from the backside, not wheeling an obtrusive tray in front of customers trying to serve themselves. Dorsey needs a four or five star. We need a lovely go-to with stellar food, service and ambiance in lieu of the mediocre diners that simply do not draw consistent, knowledgeable foodies. Houston's where are you? Ok maybe, hopefully, Mr Lee will pick it up a few notches Make it look delectable. Make one's mouth water. Make us want to return...and bring family and friends. Went for the soft open the first night and it was delightful. A little expensive for AYCE BBQ but they offered wagyu, short ribs, and other premium meats that I don't usually see at the AYCE Korean BBQ places nearby, plus buffet offerings like fresh steamed crawfish. They advertise as a Dongbei Style BBQ and Asian Fusion Buffet which seems very similar to Korean BBQ plus Chinese buffet. The service was great, very attentive the whole time, especially given it was their first night. They did struggle a little at times, but I figure after a month or so they'll have their coordination down pat. The dining areas were lovely. Whatever ventilation they set up made it so there was no pipe right over your head but no build up of smoke, leaving it feeling like a cozy dining room. Our favorites at the grill were the black pepper short ribs, the sweet garlic marinated meats, and the premium tiger shrimp. From the buffet I really enjoyed the Szechuan crawfish - often at buffets they get overcooked and soggy but these were lovely. My spouse liked the pineapple chicken and kiddo was big on the tempura shrimp. I was also really glad to have some nice vegetable sides to go with - pickled radish, bean sprout salad, and a lovely peanut salad. There were some things to improve - not all the sauces or buffet items had labels. Also the corridor between the buffet and the back dining room was pretty busy with a few near miss collisions of staff coming out of the back. We also didn't get all our items as ordered until asking a few times and the digital pad reset partway through dinner. Still it was a nice experience and I hope things will be even better next time! read more
