Since the store is pretty tiny, it can feel pretty crowded, especially during the weekend, which was not very pleasant, but the lines were not too bad. I knew exactly what I needed to get, so I got in and got out in a matter of 10 minutes. I have to say the cashier serving us that day was so friendly and cheerful. Bonus points for that! It is quite opposite during the weekday. I stopped in again on a Monday evening and it was pretty quiet. The cashier asked us if anyone had helped us during our visit, and that really made me think. We were never asked if we needed help finding anything on both visits. That can be a good or bad thing; if you like to shop in peace without the hassle of sales associates then rest assure, you probably wont be getting any sale pitches during your visits. The down side is, if you are having trouble finding an item and nobody has offered assistance, I can see that being frustrating; especially if there is not an associate in site. From what I noticed the associates usually keep to their selves, stocking or cleaning, so the only customer service you will probably receive is at checkout. The store carries EVERYTHING that you can possibly imagine for your home, but it will cost you a pretty penny! They do have a lot of high end items, but also have some bargain items set up at the entrance of the store. Their return policy is awesome. Apparently you can return anything, anytime, no questions asked. My advice, avoid this store on the weekend if you hate crowds. P.S.I believe they have a larger store in Barrhaven!! :)

I'd forgotten Canada's reputation for call centre penny mining stock scams and seniors frauds of 30 years ago. I see we're back at it in a different format. At 7 weeks I wrote asking where they were and was told the factory had closed for Christmas. I told them to cancel the order. They said they couldn't as they were in production. They just lied. Either the lamps had not started, they were being built, or had been built. If they were being built, they would not take more than a day to finish - they were just being retired for North American wiring. They were built which leads to the last option - they were built. if They were built or in production, it has taken 8 weeks to ship them from Europe to Toronto - and they still aren't here. I leave this weeks for 8 weeks and no one will be here to accept delivery. The Modern Shop says it's not their problem. customer Service just lies and says they're on their way. Dont believe them. The company is a scam or it's insolvent. They take your money and don't deliver. I'll be more careful and check Trust Pilot in the future before ordering again. DON'T DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE

Artemano is a Montreal-based company that sells furniture with a pristine quality of exotic wood (our table was made of suar wood imported from Thailand). The quality is there and is a rare find, especially when you compare to flimsy, cheaply made tables from other companies. Marcia helped us out and boy is she a pleasure. She gave us a lot of information about the table we were eyeing, took us to the back to select which exact table we wanted (since they are all made uniquely), and even slashed 50% off the table and chairs (not specifically for us but we loved her for it anyway!). We bought the the table and four chairs and they told us it would be delivered to our new home in two weeks. The table was delivered on the exact day that we were moving in (as expected) and they set it up right in our dining room in no time. They were friendly, polite and professional. We then realized that we probably should have bought two more chairs to complete the set. We returned to Artemano a few weeks later but sadly, the prices of the chairs already went up! Just as I was about to give in, the manager there worked his magic and honored the original price of the chairs for us. That is quality customer service. My Artemano dining table set is my favourite piece in the house and gorgeous to look at. I'm so fortunate I got it at such a great price too (even cheaper than many other furniture stores for such good quality). The customer service was excellent throughout, even with the crazy holiday rush. I had such a great experience and definitely recommending this store to everyone I know!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Criminal and dishonest, worst customer service ever…read more They have a beautiful showroom and lovely pieces, but once you buy, it's downhill from there... We purchased a table, bench and chairs, spending several thousand dollars. The table was missing a piece and it took over three months of constant follow-ups to get the store to mail it to us. The bench color was off and they flat-out refused to exchange or return it, saying that since we had transported it ourselves they could not do anything to help us. Finally, and worst of all, the four "leather" chairs we ordered came six months later, and were 1- not leather, 2- smaller, with less cushioning, and 3- cheaply made - basically a very low quality replica of the luxurious floor models, which were beautiful quality leather. See pictures attached. The chairs were wrapped and boxed up, and, had we not checked them, we would be stuck with them because their policy is that you can't return or exchange anything. It would also have been difficult to be sure of the quality difference, because we would have been unable to compare them with the floor model. Finally, there was an error with reimbursements and they charged our credit card without communicating it to us, several days after our last conversation. This is completely unethical and unacceptable. Throughout the whole nine-month ordeal, it was difficult to get a hold of a manager and to solve these issues. These are all absolutely unethical business practices, and far from our expectations when buying from a store that brands itself as selling quality furniture. Avoid at all costs, seriously. Save your time and sanity, and go elsewhere.

For such an expensive set, I expected much better durability. I've tried to reach out to customer service, but I didn't receive the support I anticipated. It's incredibly frustrating to invest so much in a sofa that just can't hold up to normal use. Their 'after sales service' is very very bad. I bought 1 sofa set that includes a 3 seater, 1 one…read moresit and 1 two sitter for $6,500. They delivered to my home and I found the 3 seater faulty wood. So, I did not take it. they took it back and then delivered again a faulty one. I did not take this also. then they said "come to our store, we will open the sofa for you, then you can check, we will deliver after that". I went to their store today (Saturday), checked and found the sofa faulty again. They told me to go their again on coming Wednesday. I live 35 km far from the store. its wasting of my time, harassing me a lot.. I will not buy anything from here for sure.. Is there any authority so I can complain against them? they dont seem to be honest businessmen..
