This Urban Barn is relatively new. It's in the Ottawa Trainyards, but the newer section where Nordstrom Rack, Figaro Coffee and Healthy Planet are. This Urban Barn seems much more fancy and upscale than the one I'd usually go to in Stittsville. I really like the displays. I find the prices a bit on the higher side for furniture, but more affordable for things like decorative bowls, pillows, picture frames, etc. Staff are nice and it's a fun place to browse, even if just to go for decorating ideas ;) Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot.

For the amount of money I paid just for the wood floors this so called professional was anything but...I removed the old carpets myself to save a bit on the bill and Mike was to do the rest...midway through the flooring I asked him about screwing down the sub floor before laying the new floor and the reply was that was my job to do and it was on me...when i called the company about this their response was you should have asked, well if I'm the customer and they are the so called pro's maybe they should have brought this up at the time and I would have paid whatever the extra cost would have been, that being said the so called best installer did a piss poor job with nails from the nail gun coming out of the new floor...the company did not offer to fix but said this happens ever so often...REALLY....the same installer tiled my kitchen floor and when I asked him about my dishwasher being able to get it out of its slot he said there wouldn't be an issue he does this all the time and nobody has complained....well I am! I don't even have enough room to even try to lower the front legs to shimmy it out ...again the company knowing I had a dishwasher should have brought this to my attention before hand and I would have had my granite counter tops removed so everything could have been done correct the first time.....the overall quality of work done in my home was poor and the overall response I got from the salesman and the owner of the company was extremely piss poor and I would not recommend Athens to anyone because of the lack of response...I know that sometimes thing happen and things can go wrong and if Athens would have responded in a much better fashion and dealt with my concerns at the time then just blowing me off like they don't care now they got my money I would maybe recommend them to others but this is a company that only cares about being paid in full then onto the next victim errr I mean customer.
