We attended a fabulous event recently called The Manhatten Short Film Festival, at Urban-15. A friend of mine passed on some info about the event, and if you know me, I'm always open to something new especially the arts and food. Sooo googled Both, annnnd here's what I found- The Film festival consisted of the top 10 international short films chosen by the organization and shown internationally and nationwide...the public gets to view all and then vote for his/her favorite film and overall actor.
Urban-15 is a non profit organization that supports media/dance performances and participates in many citywide social arts events. Many performances are free!
The Film festival took place in the Urban-15 building. The building itself was old and historical, limited parking with a small lot and street. As we entered, we were directed up some stairs and led to an open room with a stage and padded fold up chairs. Open seating. Free serve yourself sangria, agua fresca, and water were available. Easy access to restrooms located towards the back of the room double doors. Everyone that worked at the venue was friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed the international film festival and found it very interesting. An array of emotions- comedic, sad, relatable to life, and even disturbing surfaced. I shed quite a few tears...
Films ranged from 3 minutes to 20 minutes.
I look forward to attending this yearly event again next year! Soo fun. read more
