The jacket failed some time back and started leaking water, they replaced it without question and I was really impressed. Now the pants are failing and I sent them in for repair or replacement, they said they couldn't fix them, the product has a "limited warranty", and they would offer me $89 to compensate me for a product that cost me over $350. It seems Arc'Teryx is trying to amend that original guarantee and is now not living up to the promise or standing by its products anymore. Must have happened when the Chinese bought them in 2019. I am extremely disappointed to find out the original guarantee I was given was not worth the paper it was written on. I even quizzed the salesperson with different scenarios of this product being damaged and/or failing, to all of it they responded, "we would replace it". The only reason I bought this overly priced garment was the lifetime guarantee, which apparently meant nothing. They are simply being untruthful and not standing by their product. I'll never buy Arc'teryx again. Here in Portland Oregon we have lots to choose from, including Columbia Sportwear Mountain Hardware brand rain gear which might be a far better choice for the quality minded outdoors enthusiast.

He's an avid wood tuner and his work shop (the garage) gets mighty cold during winter. His latest love is the Duluth Fire Hose Fleece-lined Relaxed fit pants. The pants have a microfleece lining that is very warm yet surprisingly lightweight and the large, deep cargo pockets resist punctures from the tools he uses. The 100% cotton canvas repels stains and water as well. One note: they wash extremely well but are very heavy when wet and a wimp like me has to transfer them from the washer to the dryer. No complaints, just a warning. LOL His other current favorite are the flannel shirts. There's a whole collection of them ranging from relaxed fit to untucked to fleece-lined and they are all on sale right this very minute. The brick and mortar store has deals you can't get online and vise versa so it's always a good idea to check both options. Many have concerns about the area where the store is located. And, yes, there have been high crime issues associated with the Jantzen Beach shopping center and many of the stores surrounding Duluth Trading Company are in fact closing. Homelessness is rampant in this part of town but the store is safe to shop in and I would suggest just being more vigilant about your surroundings. It's the times we live in.

The staff was very helpful, even though the item I wanted to exchange for wasn't in stock, they facilitated the exchange and honored the original price. A friend that came with me tried on some items and their help for people in dressing rooms is above and beyond. The brand aims to be inclusive (size, gender, race, pay) and sustainable. The clothing isn't cheap but it's high quality and stylish.

After consulting the few measurements that are available for online ordering we determined that an XL would be her best choice in vest, tux jacket and wide leg trousers. I was prepared to take the suit to a tailor to make adjustments. Buying online is never 100% so we were prepared. Unfortunately, the pieces we received were of such low quality the tailor couldn't alter them unless it was to take them in. The jacket sleeves were too small around and it was extremely tight across the back as well as too tight at the belly. But the XL trousers and XL vest both fit around her waist. The bottom line is that for the price they were ill fitting and the fabric so cheap that we couldn't even have them tailored.

I was specifically hoping to find boots and/or a jacket. On top of having an entire floor full of clearance jackets, they also had about a dozen racks under tents outside of the store. It seemed like they probably had every Columbia jacket that had been made within the past few years. There was also a ton of Mountain Hardware and Sorel. The Mountain Hardware jackets were about 25-50% off, which was still significantly cheaper than REI or anywhere else that I know of. I ended up feeling so overwhelmed by the jacket selection that I decided I needed to do some research, and come back. I ended up leaving with two pairs of snow boots: 1 Columbia, and 1 Sorel. I got both pairs for $55, including tax and a very small roundup for the National Park fund. I've been looking for boots for a couple of weeks, and the cheapest I've found comparable boots anywhere else was anywhere from $69-129. So, I was beyond stoked to find two pairs I liked in the clearance section. They were also having a store wide BOGO half-off sale, which is how the total ended up so low. I didn't have, and have actually never had any of the issues with outlet stores that other people brought up in their reviews. I used to work at the outlets in Folsom. Most of the merchandise isn't damaged or defective-- it's just overstock or barely out of season. The boots that I purchased are honestly of similar quality to brand new boots from DSW. I just got really lucky (and have a seventh sense for when things will be on sale due to all my years of working in retail). Staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and I would definitely shop here again.

But, not to worry, if you're on a budget, they have a trade-in program where they take back worn (in good/fair condition) items and re-sell them at a discounted price under their Eileen Fisher Renew collection. A circular fashion model where nothing goes to waste. This location is a bit bigger than the one in Bridgeport. The employees are very nice and helpful. I like the simple, timeless design of the clothing and the fabrics feel good against your skin. I always find something when I shop at Eileen Fisher.
