Visiting from Arizona, I had tried their burger for lunch. Portion was huge, french fries were nice and golden and service was great. No frozen patties here. Prices were reasonably good and the staff were very friendly. read more

I do not know why they still have that best breakfast or whatever sign in the front of their restaurant because it is outdated and I would disagree. My friend and I both had the two egg breakfast special. She had hers with two eggs over easy, bacon, home fries, and toast. I had mine scrambled with no milk, sausages, home fries, and toast. We liked our eggs, our meats were okay, the toast was good, but the home fries were good that we didn't want to waste them but it's not remarkable and if they had another option besides their home fries, I'd take the option. The interior is a bit out there. A lot of dolls, puppets, etc. hanging on the walls. On one hand, it's nice to look at something while eating but on the other hand it's a bit unnerving. read more

Horrible experience. Horrible customer service. Waitresses are rude. Owner is rude. Restaurant looks like an antique shop. Screwed up our order and refused to make it right but I wasn't letting that happen. Proceeded to tell us to never come back once they realized they were wrong. To be honest we only attended this restaurant because lumberjack had a long wait but we spent 1.5 hours in uptown waiting for eggs anyways. Do yourselves a favour and go across the street! read more

Have been quite loyal to Lumberjack, as I love their steak and eggs, and their dinners are pretty good too. But, on New Year's Day, it was way too busy. So, as a few on this list have done, we went over to Uptown. It was also quite packed, but they got us in swiftly. The decor is pretty cheesy, but who cares?! The breakfast was GREAT! Gf and I both got eggs benedict (which anywhere else would not fill me up) so I added sausages as a side. Eggs benedict were amazing, egg cooked perfectly, and the peameal was thick and juicy. Hollandaise was great too, and there was a lot (maybe too much for some). The potatoes were excellent too! Seasoned well and they're almost red from the seasoning but delicious. Now to the sausages, HUGE! and delicious. Almost made me feel a little inadequate. My wife were looking for a place to eat breakfast on our last day in Canada before flying home to California. After unsuccessfully looking for several other places on Yelp, we discovered Uptown as we drove out Tecumseh. What a great find! The place is great, one of those little family owned restaurants that we love. The staff were so friendly and warm that we felt right at home. The food was delicious. I had the house specialty, Francakes, which the waitress explained was simply French toast and pancakes. I was really pleased to find that both were very good but the most pleasant part of the meal was the really good sausages. They were done just right and I could have eaten two more. My wife really enjoyed her eggs and crisp bacon. This place knows how to make and serve a fantastic breakfast. We'll be back on our next visit to Windsor. read more

fam-jam weekends usually involved a trip to the local Cora's. This time I objected so much we finally decided to venture into another breakfast spot. after an unsuccessful trip to paul's kitchen (how can you take family vacation when yelpers are trying to eat here???, i'm kidding enjoying your vacation paul, we'll find you next time), we found this gem. First impression, so cute! it's like hipster meets old-town charm. I am sold. Our group ordered two omelettes, a two-egg breakfast and a french toast. it was heaping portions we couldn't finish our food! You really get value for your money. Order three items if you have four people - seriously it was loads of food. Everything was homemade and delicious. coffee was fresh and yum as well. I'm so glad we found this hidden gem. read more

Went to the Uptown on Thanksgiving morning as the wait at another restaurant (the Lumberjack) was too long. Located across Howard Avenue on the same side of Tecumseh, we figured, lets check it out to see if we could get in. My niece had mentioned she's been in on several occasions and found the food to be good. Glad we ventured across Howard Avenue. The decor is VERY cheesy.....clowns suspended from the ceiling, fake plants, balloons, etc....but we didn't come for the atmosphere.....we came for food. 5 for bkfst came to $35 with tax...so price was good. Order was: 3 bkfsts with 2 eggs, bacon, home fries, toast 1 bkfst with 2 egg whites, home fries, peamal bacon, toast 1 order toast 3 coffees, 2 teas Home fries were excellent, bacon cooked perfectly. Staff were very friendly although only 2 waitresses were working and the place was packed. They never showed their stress.....ours joked with our table and not once did we feel rushed. It's a great greasy spoon type diner. Great staff who are on top of it. Food is good a priced fairly (breaky $10) I really like the the breakfast sausages. Not a a lot of seating but I've never waited longer the 10 mins for a table even during peak periods read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE, but good food. We went and had to wait a very long time to be served and there didn't seem to be any real rhyme to their reason when it came to who was looking after what table. We had someone finally come and take our order. We waited a very long time for our food and the server didn't bring mine out. She kept telling the other three people at my table "I will be back..." with this or that. Never said a word to me about my meal. Once she had brought everything out and the last thing was a single plate of bacon, we asked about my plate. She acted as though she had no idea what we were talking about. Why would 4 people come in and only 3 order food? She came back with my food very quickly, and when I touched it all, it was cold. The food, despite being cold, was actually pretty good which is why I gave them 2 stars. I think this must have been family run though because I don't know who else would hire the people I had to deal with... Go to the restaurant across the street. read more

Met a friend here for lunch at her suggestion. I was not disappointed. It was a nice family run type business. I ordered a club house sandwich platter that included fries and coleslaw while my friend had a 2 egg breakfast with home fries, bacon and toast. Everything looked like it was made from scratch. It's not a big place and customers were soon lining up, waiting for a table as the lunch hour progressed. Found the service to be a tad slow and some of the decorations a bit tacky (a collection of obituary notices on the wall ?!?!). Other than that, I would recommend this place for all day breakfast and lunch.
