I got the hungry man's breakfast for my wife and I, and we barely could only eat half.

It was busy, but…read morethe wait was under 10 minutes, and the interior felt surprisingly upscale for a brunch spot. Service was friendly and welcoming, which set the tone right away. The classic breakfast with a small stack of pancakes (4/5) is exactly what you want it to be. Well-cooked eggs, generous and perfectly done bacon, and pancakes that lean slightly dry on their own but come together nicely once the maple syrup hits. The halloumi bowl was my favorite dish. Portions are very generous, even the smaller size, and the vinaigrette ties everything together without overpowering it. The halloumi was the highlight and delivered exactly what I was craving. A solid 4/5. Overall, The Twisted Apron is a solid brunch spot with good food, efficient service, and a polished feel.

Greeted us immediately with drinks and was attentive throughout our stay. They have standard brunch items and some unique ones. We shared the Dirty Bird, the hot honey Benny and a side of small stack pancakes with the biscoff tiramisu topping. Everything was delicious. As folks visiting from Toronto, we did not expect this caliber of brunch in Windsor.

I ordered the Hungry Man Special which was yummy I loved how it came with pancakes. The pancakes were a bit chewier than expected compared to their fluffy look. My friend ordered the Eggs Benedict, Western skillet, and Country skillet which they all liked. My friend and I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake Mimosa which was so yummy and barely alcoholic lol. The ice cream in it was so yummy.

There really isn't parking so street parking is your best bet. The building itself looks modern and inviting. Inside was the same. It's a big open low lit room. Black Colonel walls with plenty of seating, the waitress told us to have a seat anywhere, so that what we did. They were so friendly. They even gave us Canadian coins to feed the meter. After we placed our orders it was a short wait. What I noticed was that the three waitresses worked together to tackle the guest. There were no arguments. They just helped. When the food was put down, I immediately realized, this wasn't American food. The butter, was great the strawberry jam was different and even the orange juice tasted better. I completely loved my meal. I would go back every day if possible. But border crossing is a real pain.

Obviously I have seen all the people posting about their pancakes, and yes, they are the size of hubcaps. For real reals. The guy next to me ordered them and my eyes almost popped out of my head. But when I walked into this cute little spot on Agnes in West Village, right there on the wall, on one of those dark boards where you slide the letters in (I think they are called felt letter boards) were six glorious words: This Week's Specials - Fried Bologna Sammy. Well there you have it folks. Decision immediately made. Here's the caveat though, it wasn't your typical thick sliced baloney (yes, I know what I did there) with some American cheese on a bun. Nope nope nope. This was pan toasted bread, pickled onions, lettuce, cheese and her bed mayo that was nothing short of spectacular. I didn't know if I would like something more than what I usually had and I can emphatically say yes I did. Had a delicious cup o' Joe to wash it all down and honestly was the happiest fat boy in the whole wide world. The service was fantastic, the food was fantastic, the experience was fantastic. What more could you ask for ?

Guests of a "certain size" may need to opt for the chair not the bench, like I did, to avoid butt swiping the table next to you. I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich, without the spicy pimento cheese (they have cheddar available). I found their sausage to have a bit of a heat to it, but my SO thought I was crazy, so that's just personal preference - I like a sweeter sausage. I also got a side of the breakfast potatoes and schmear. They say "smashed" on the menu, but I was pleasantly surprised by the full mini potatoes. I could slice them up how I wanted and could choose my level of schmear to dip. I found them very good. The SO got pancakes and a side of sausage and enjoyed them both. They came around a lot to ask if he needed a refill on coffee and to top off my water which was nice. The food was out extremely fast, helps to have a limited menu! I would definitely come again.
