happy and tired after daycare, knocked out soon after this photo!
Alyssa C.

Updating my review! Ever since I first started coming here around September, I have absolutely fallen completely in love with this daycare. The staff here are like family to Athena, and no matter who greets her she's always going straight to them, tail wagging and trying to kiss them. I always feel safe bringing her here. They are also helpful in updating me on how she is doing and if she had finished her dinner or not. The staff here are also very friendly to me and if it isn't too busy I always have a short conversation with whoever has the night shift. I am also very thankful for Gus, the male staff member in my last review who helped me with her poop fiasco, but Danielle and the other staff members are all great, I wish I could remember all their names so I could just list all of them here. I am still so happy to have found this daycare and will always go here. I do hope one day they open up another spot in the West LA area because all my dog friends need a daycare in that area and I always recommend this one but they always say DTLA is too far :( I highly recommend this daycare for any dog, especially high energy dogs, because my crazy puppy has made fantastic high energy friends here and now she just completely knocks out at home.

My husband and I cannot recommend Uptown Pup enough. We have been trusting them with our dog Greyson for quite some time now for grooming, daycare and boarding; Grayson always comes back tired and happy. He's a big boy and can be a little rambunctious at times but they know how to handle his crazy energy and playful personality. Staff is very friendly, helpful and professional.

My dog got injured at this daycare, I took him to emergency that night, went home with insane amounts of vet bills. Dogs playing rough is quite normal, but that's why I prefer taking him to daycare instead of dog park, thinking he'll be in good hand. My dog and I loved it here, every staff members were super friendly to us, and we have been coming for awhile now. It was disappointing as they don't seem to take responsibility for the incident, and they refused to compensate the vet bills due to the waivers. So bear in mind if any happens to your pup here, you're on your own.

I LOVE THIS PLACE AND SO DOES TINSLEY! The staff is amazing. Polite, patient, welcoming and overall very happy people! I love the facility and the environment that the dogs are in! Every time Tinsley drops by and plays with the other dogs, he comes home more excited! And also very tired. Which is great since he has a lot of energy. I highly recommend dropping your dog(s) here! It's a great spot in downtown LA!

Great daycare and boarding! They don't keep your dogs in a cage all day. They play with other dogs most of the day so they won't feel as home sick!

Uptown pup completely made up for my pups last visit and gave teddie a free bath after his daycare experience there today so he returned home smelling very nice. The service was fantastic and the staff was very polite and accommodating. Apparently the food mix up was just a miscommunication between staff members which is fine, accidents happen. Teddie had lots of fun and enjoyed his daycare experience here today.

Thank you Uptown Pup! Our fur babies Kali and Coco have found their second loving home. Our family travels often for work and soccer, but, life has just gotten so much easier knowing they are always in great hands for a couple of days. Their day consists of well thought out playtime/games, diligent care and Instagram photobombs! My pups love it there!

The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.

Hollywood

We are visiting from Marin in the Bay Area, and our sweet pup Wolly has been coming to Wag Hotels…read moreHollywood almost every day this week for the All Day Play Plus program. Wolly is a 12 lb, 10 year old Maltipoo who is very social but definitely set in his ways, so we do not say this lightly: we truly cannot say enough good things about the care he received here. From a logistics standpoint, the entire experience was incredibly easy. The flexibility of drop off before noon without needing daily sign ups was a huge win for us while traveling and juggling plans. Pick up as late as 7 PM was equally helpful, and the pricing felt very reasonable for the level of service. What really stood out was the thoughtfulness around safety and care. The facility is secure and gated at drop off, and we watched staff carefully manage dog flow right at the entrance. At one point, a team member even positioned themselves between our children and a larger dog out of an abundance of caution. That level of awareness told us everything we needed to know. We also appreciated the small but meaningful details. There is a live camera so we could check in whenever we missed him. They feed dogs separately and sanitize the area afterward, which gave us real peace of mind. But the true highlight was the caregivers. The way they greeted Wolly each day, how gently they handled him, and how clearly they knew the dogs in their care made this place special. Every afternoon we received the most adorable photo of him, and by midweek he was literally running inside, tail wagging, completely comfortable and happy. As dog parents, there is no better feeling than knowing your pup loves where he is and is being looked after by professionals who genuinely care. Wag Hotels Hollywood made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Wolly. We will absolutely be back the next time we are in LA.

They have cameras, so I could peek in on her anytime (which, yes, I absolutely did). She had the best time. They even emailed me photos of her living her best life and sent home a report card at the end of the day. This is officially my go-to spot anytime I'm in the office. She gets out of the house, gets great stimulation, and I get peace of mind knowing she's happy--away from backyard boredom and the lovable chaos of my kids. Win-win.

They also regularly update with photos and emails to keep you in the loop which is very reassuring. Loki loves it there and is always wiped out when she returns. (She's been napping all day. Very clearly a happy girl ).

A little long but it's been nothing less than eventful with this place. I had hight hopes for this…read moreplace as the hours are so convenient for our family's busy schedules. Unfortunately, this place was a HUGE disappointment and had a huge negative impact on our pup. Long story short -- Everything here is a sales grab. The few girls care for the animals but the "managers" and men there are just there for the commission of your packages. I had a whole conversation about their unethical sales pitching with the employee while picking up my dog lol. It's "how they keep the place open" - the employee's words, not mine. Astounding. Said employee also asked what I did for a living because I questioned their sales pitch tactics -- I'm in sales. Also, If you need their VIP services for your unspayed or neutered pup, please spend your money elsewhere!! Before committing to a membership, we did a trial day and spent hundreds on drop in days, grooming, and overnight boarding to see if it was a good fit for our high energy pup. Our dog is not neutered and we don't plan on getting him neutered so we chose their VIP rooms. His breed is also extremely high energy and they promised they could accommodate. I also inquired about training multiple times and they kept saying the trainer would contact me. Everything went great after those few visits, they seemed caring and said he was a great fit for a membership so we end up signing up. Then everything went downhill. Upon the first day of the membership, our dog all of a sudden had behavior issues and needed to be picked up. In the middle of my work day I call the shift manager, and he states that if we want our dog to stay, he needs training ... (from their same trainer that I've inquired 3x about before committing to a membership, still haven't heard back). I asked why this wasn't communicated ever before committing to a membership and they didn't have an answer. I informed them that I would've paid for training before committing to a membership if they would've let me know that there were any issues. Our dog went a couple of more times until they could finally get me in touch with the trainer, 6 visits later. Actually I had lost complete trust at this facility. To add insult to injury, I was able to speak to one of their actual workers that is with the dogs and she let me know that our dog is only let out for about 10 minutes at a time, maybe 3 to 4 times a day during a 12 hour stay. This is their VIP option. So not only is he left in a room for about 12 hours a day, with dogs barking all around him, he's not being stimulated nor played with just being let out to go to the bathroom. Contradicting everything they say that they offer. Their "trainer" is also a joke. He is supposed to be from the Marines and well-versed in the breed of dog that we have. Upon washing him for 5 minutes, as I was told, he said that our dog needed to be neutered before he could be trained because of his energy. Our dog is a Malinois and is not supposed to be neutered before 2 years of age. We've since went elsewhere to get our dog trained from someone who is actually educated on his breed and he's worked on all of his anxiety and reactivity issues that our pup got because of this place.
