I purchased a Groupon for Footprints Yoga and was excited to learn a different style of Yoga. I had been going to another studio in Denver and I love it. I didn't realize that this yoga studio was located inside a small gym (directly off the freeway). If you decide to go, please note you'll need to drive past it, turn down a street, go through an alley, then drive through the Sherman-Williams parking lot to get to the place. It doesn't say Footprints Yoga anywhere on the building either, just Ascent Fitness. I entered and was greeted cheerfully and shown to the yoga studio. A tiny, tattooed young man apologetically told me he would be my instructor for the class and that the most important thing I needed to do right away was fill out a consent form that relieved them of any legal responsibility if I got injured, (all without making eye contact with me). Then he scampered off to a corner in the studio to intently examine his smartphone. For the duration of my time there, he didn't make a single effort to engage me in any conversation, and his body language and demeanor indicated he would rather be anywhere else. I went to the locker room to change. Very nice, Ascent Fitness, you are the reason this review has two stars. Footprints gets zero. The locker rooms were clean and I loved that the keys were already in the locks and attached to a clothespin, brilliant! I came back to the studio, put my mat down and tried to get focused for class. The ambient noise from the gym in the next room was so loud I couldn't concentrate. That, and the yoga instructor kept dragging bags across the floor, and the personal trainers kept shouting "Five more pushups!" and in general the entire atmosphere was the opposite of the calm, nurturing, serene place I was craving. To top it all off, 6:15pm rolled around and I looked around and saw that I was the ONLY person in the class. I haven't felt so uncomfortable, so out of place, and so conspicuous in a long time. I couldn't take it anymore, and I left.

Instead of taking accountability or offering a professional apology, I later received a hostile and insulting response on Instagram after leaving an honest review. I was mocked for expecting communication from a business, accused of wanting "instant gratification," and told I was hurting their business over a "minuscule first world problem." That level of unprofessionalism speaks for itself. Businesses miss messages sometimes -- that's understandable. What is NOT understandable is attacking a potential customer personally for expressing frustration. Customer service and professionalism matter, especially in the fitness industry where people are looking for a welcoming and supportive environment. The response I received completely changed my perception of this studio and confirmed that I made the right decision not to join.

It was ridiculously easy to sign up for a membership, I was able to do everything online and then picked a time for my safety orientation at the studio where I paid and got my required gear. I got to meet the owner and the staff, and everybody was so professional, pleasant, and helpful. I'm a little baffled that anyone would have difficulty signing up for a membership, the website made it incredibly easy and I found all the information I needed. This location is super clean and everything works. The other members are polite and kind. I go almost everyday, I am psyched to be on the leaderboards and the summer burn challenge has been really fun. The app is easy to use. All the gear I've bought from them (heat-resistant mat, towels, row gloves) has been great. I'm looking forward to using my earn-the-burn points from the Summer Challenge to get some free swag. Hot iso and sauna training has been life-changing for me.

I took a power yoga class and was a little nervous Intel. I showed up and realized every class is welcoming of all levels. The studio was incredibly clean, including the yoga mat that I borrowed. If you forget your mat, they are available to rent. Props like yoga blocks, yoga, straps, blankets, and bolsters are available at no charge. This studio has a strong community atmosphere, and is not intimidating. I think this is an excellent place for people continuing their practice or just giving yoga a try for the first time.

Her class not only inspired me to take another class, but to also join BSY's Yoga Teacher Training. BSY's YTT is a 200-hr program that is accredited through Yoga Alliance. During BSY YTT, you'll learn all facets of yoga: history, philosophy, anatomy, spiritualism, meditation, hatha and vinyasa flows, theming classes, the chakra system, trauma in-formed yoga, prenatal yoga and nutrition. BSY's program sets their students up for success and to feel prepared to teach at graduation. Lead teachers Kiana and Sean are extremely knowledgeable on all things yoga and have been teaching yoga for many years. I did an hour session consisting of 2 intervals of sauna for 20mins and ice bath for 5-10, then ended with a quick shower. I truly felt so amazing during the experience and after. I've been loving all of my small group and zoom classes here!…read more Brian and Danielle have been great instructors on all of the equipment (I've taken classes on reformer, tower and chair), and I've gotten to try out so many new movements with them. As someone who has previous pilates experience, it's so refreshing to come to a studio where the teachers actually value and teach good form, while making sure you get a good workout and follow social distancing (masks on, everything's disinfected, windows open, etc.). At the same time, there's a great balance for beginners to get comfortable with the movements and equipment, since classes are so small. I brought a friend to her first equipment class a few weeks ago and she had a great time, too. Over zoom, I've had a blast with Dana and Brian. I wasn't really a fan of mat pilates classes before, but they've both taught me new equipment-free exercises and exercises with resistance bands that have helped me stay strong at home.
