Disappointed! Rather than soaking my polish off, the nail tech scraped my polish off with a false nail & broke several of my nails. The color I requested was not available & when I requested another color she brought a different color - when I told her I didn't want glitter polish she kept saying, it's shiny not glitter! Y'all!!! I've been going here for 4 years and last week...the wheels came off!!! My 1st clue (which I ignored) was she had to ask 3 times what my color choice was. That's when I showed her my nails and said I want an ombré, exactly like (same color same glitter) what I have...it really was not rocket science! She starts "cleaning, sanding, filing my nails and gouges my cuticles (causing blood) on 3 fingers. This is unacceptable!! Then when dipping, she absolutely could not process that I wanted an ombré with the whole nail pink and glitter at the nail bed end. She dipped my nails and had to wipe it off repeatedly. Then the filing started again, and that's when her true lack of training showed. My coffin shaped nails turned into a terrible 1/2 round 1/2 square mess. And all of this and not for cheap either. I'm struggling to decide if I need to go back. I think I need a new nail salon. read more

I have been going to Upscale Salon for almost two years. This evening, my daughter went there, on my request, only to be sat in a chair and wait 30 minutes for nothing. Granted, it was an hour before close. However, a manicure and pedicure only takes 45 minutes if two people work on the client at once. If there is no time to do the job, fine! Just send her on her way instead of humiliating her in front of other clients getting their pedicures and nails done. She never gets her nails done and was so excited after working 12 hours. Well, I have been going to another nail salon. I didn't like it. I had to get it done all over again. I still wasn't happy. I decide to try Upscale spa & Nails. I had a great experience. I had to wait 40 mins after I told them a time. I get it, everyone is short handed. I enjoyed my visit but didn't like that I was there over 2 hours. I will tell u, that it was worth the wait. I had gone to do my nails the other day and i could tell they were busy because of the holidays and stuff but the lady I got seemed to lack attention to detail. No ones perfect but my nails look different lengths. The shape is definitely not consistent And some are bulky while others are not smooth. The lady my sister got was rushing with her and has left her nails feeling painful. Not to mention the girl snagged my twice and was looking all around and not paying attention. read more

Not my normal nail salon but had to grocery shop at H‑E‑B so I stopped in just to get my dip nails removed and the main lady was so rude .. she tried to use a nail tip to remove the dip and it hurt so bad I ask her to stop and just soak the dip off . She finally brought me the bowl to soak in and barely said another word. This was the LEAST relaxing experience ever. One person torturing my feet and shins, while another one did a dip french manicure. The lady who did the pedicure was asked several times to please stop furiously rubbing my shins, and I said several times "that hurts" but she just kept on with the procedure I paid for which apparently involves hot stones and hot wax. She used a sharp instrument to dig around my toenail cuticles. The man doing my manicure did not explain what he was going to do. I was interested in the powder "dip" but had no idea that in fact, they use a Drimmel tool to "shave off" the tops of your nails and then use a toxic glue on your nails that cannot be removed unless you go back to a manicurist. The nails were so thick with this process when I left that I can't use my fingers to button my buttons or even scratch an itch. I leave you with this picture so that you can see after about ten days of wear, how thick he layered on this powder and glue on top of my nails. read more

I have been coming here for years but after the new ownership I will not be coming back. I always receive the same pedicure and same nail treatment but the pricing is always different every time I come in. I had acrylic nails from the previous visit, and they did dip nail because it's "better for me" but didn't mention an extra charge to take off the acrylic. I understand a charge, but don't offer to change my nails if you aren't going to mention an additional charge for it. My pedicure was rushed with barely no massage at all (the catalog mentions a 25 minute massage in addition to hot stones) I look down at my toes and the top coat is only covering half the nail, making noticeable lines in my polish. My toes are not even, they are all cut slanted and not filed smooth. I have a cut on my toe. After a repolish they look a little bit better but not up to my standards. My nails don't look terrible, but there was no cuticle removal, which is necessary in the colder months. I was charged $108 for a pedicure and dip nail... (with out tip). They had my business for multiple years, but I will no longer come back to this establishment. read more

Just got pedicures here with my mom and we loved it. The atmosphere is so relaxing, the decor is beautiful, and they had piano music playing. They also did such a good job. I haven't been to this salon in over a year due to the previous owners. I gave it a second shot after hearing there were new owners and having a poor experience at another salon here in town. My nail tech was so sweet! She made me feel so nice. I'm very picky about my nails and she did a perfect job. Very quick. I got a set of dip nails and couldn't be happier. They're about medium length, coffin shape and such a beautiful unique color! She made sure I was happy and even gave a shoulder massage afterwards. I loved it here i have very short nails and they still managed to give me a beautiful holographic purple. I absolutely love the hot stone massage they give you and they don't rub your skin to the point where its raw. The massage chairs were also very heavenly. They made me feel very welcome. I have been coming to Upscale for more than 2 years now. Julie is a sweet manager and always has a smile on her face. I usually just do dip nails and I appreciate soaking rather than "drilling" off my old color like a place I used before did. They have a good selection of color choices and work hard to please the customer. I don't pick a particular stylist because I think they all do a great job. If you're complaining about a wait, call ahead and they'll let you know how busy they might be. I've waited a few times but they work hard to get you started. The pedicures are good, but I don't get them frequently because I don't like how long they take. I do often get my toes painted in warm weather and that's a great bargain. Upscale might not be the newest or the fanciest place in a town with way too many salons but they are hardworking and caring. Well worth a visit. read more

I went back to get them fixed and thicker and this was the result. I tried to give them another chance a couple months ago but it was the same problem. Why do I keep coming here? First they are too busy. Wait even on Monday. Second the dip nails are so inconsistant. Sometimes not straight. Sometimes lumpy. On French tips they build up the end a lot higher than the middle and then you get painful breaks. Third they soak you instead of helping you remove the dip so it takes twice as long. Cindy is my favorite nail technician, but they all do good jobs. The place is always very clean, and they're always very friendly and professional. I would recommend that you make an appointment, because otherwise it can be busy, and you might have to wait a little while. Cindy is amazing! So friendly and offered me something to drink right away. She introduced herself and asked for my name and had such great conversation with me the whole time. She helped me choose a color and asked me if i liked the way my nail looked before she continued on the rest. I love when a nail technician really pays attention to detail and checks with you to make sure you're happy and she did that! I didn't feel rushed and I'm so happy with how they turned out. This is the WORST EXCUSE for a professional business. I had an appointment with them for 11 this morning. My sister and I went in and registered, I went to pick out my nail color. Then I was informed I was late, my appt had been canceled. By this time it was 11:05 by my watch and phone. Their clock on the wall showed 11:10. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND UPSCALE SPA AND NAILS to anyone. They need to change their name to LOW BAR Spa AND NAIL because they they set the bar so low. I made appointments for three pedicures when they opened at 12:00. We arrive at 11:55, on time but apparently they opened the doors at 11:50 and took other people who were waiting outside and although we had appointment, there was NO ONE to start our peducures. Waited 30 minutes. The nail techs were great but the practice of making appointments wait is unacceptable. Also didn't offer us better beverages, didn't know there were margaritas, etc. If the manager doesn't get it, she never will, clueless to what she had done.
