For me the hardest part about coming here was the parking. Whenever I have gone to this location, the staff have been friendly and chatty, And I have never had to wait in line, which is always good for me. I have never received a package from them anytime anything has been shipped via UPS however these employees love to hold my packages hostage at their location but me eight dollars to pick it up after I already paid for shipping. Since this is the distribution center that is closest to me, and most likely serves the area I am in, I just want to say this location sucks. If I could give this a negative or minus star review I would. Suck as in suck a golf ball through a garden hose, suck. The drivers routinely drop my packages and the packages off of my neighbors everywhere except where they are suppose to be. Drop off centers, back alley areas, etc. and getting the customer local service reps to do anything is a joke. Can I give less than 1 star? There seems to be a problem with every single delivery that gets dispatched out from his office . I logged on to my app and authorized package to be left at the door. The driver took it back with him. I called and a supervisor promised me it would be delivered at end of route between 8 and 9pm so I sat in my lobby with a cup of coffee and a blanket from 7:50 to 11pm. No package. Currently here for 45 min. Waiting for a package that they couldn't deliver yesterday because they said my address was wrong. It was not. We called last night and asked to have it held to be picked up. We are now being told they can't find the package because the driver didn't take it off the truck and the driver isn't in that truck today. But the truck that it's supposed to be on they can't find. There is no manager on duty and the rep told us "I only make 10.50 an hour. I can't help you". This UPS location does not deserve one star! The shipping manager onsite, Aurora needs serious customer service training. She does not have any skills in listening, makes up her own procedures regarding delivery of packages and is very rude. Aurora has an issue providing services to the West Side of Chicago. Not sure what her specific issue is with this address but she adamant about not delivering here at any cost. I paid for expedited shipping for a product I have yet to receive. The UPS driver has falsely file a "address not available" report for a delivery attempt that was never made. When the shipments are small UPS never had problems delivering them but when ever there is a heavy shipment they find innovative reasons to not deliver. I am on the lease, my number is on the buzzer and packages can be left at leasing office but they are LAZY to carry heavy packages. They leave a note in my mail box after entering the building saying I am not on the directory !! how did they find the mail box if I am not on the directory?? ridiculous !! I want to begin by saying that the first person to help me at this location with my Amazon return was kind and professional. Unfortunately I had placed a large Amazon order for clothing in one order. However Amazon sent two QR return codes instead of just one which made the return more challenging. I had never done this before so I simply followed Amazon's instructions which stated to return all items and not to worry about boxing. As the 1st customer service rep was helping me, a white woman in her 60s came up front and started to demean me and say you should've done this at home. We don't have time for this and this isn't our job. Go get a box and package your things. We have others customers to take care of. I understand the reasoning but I tried to explain that I've never had this happen with an Amazon order before when I've returned to Whole Foods or kohls. I also explained that Amazon instructions clearly stated there was no need to package all the items into a box. She was also rude to her employees. I can only assume she is a supervisor. In case anyone Is thinking im complaining for a racist reason, I too am white. It seems to me that perhaps this woman is extremely unhappy with her job at UPS since she is mistreating customers as well as employees. It may be time for her to retire. UPS likes to pretend that they've tried to deliver packages when they haven't. I can't even count the times the driver has left the "delivery attempted" notice while I sit by the phone, waiting for a call or knock on the door. Is it...too much work to actually ring the doorbell? I mean, you're standing right next to it, because that's where you posted the notice. Incompetence I can understand and even sort of deal with, but outright lying to your customers is pretty awful and really unnecessary. And every time I call to complain, they tell me that I can do the hour long drive out to Franklin Park to pick up the package. It's like a restaurant telling you that it will take them 3 days to cook your meal, but you are welcome to pay them and then go home and make your own dinner. I'm calling BS! We have a 1 year old border collie puppy whose greatest daily joy (and the bane of ours) is to bark insanely at any noise downstairs. Birds, the mail carrier, the wind, delivery people, anyone coming home or walking by, and she's on it. She thinks it's her job and she does her job all too well. You really expect me to believe for the first time in her life she finally didn't bark? Or...okay let's be honest, you just left all the stuff on the truck because it was cold and snowing and the many packages were heavy and it was much easier for you to quietly stick a sticker on our door so we can drive to forest park and pick it up ourselves? This was @ 11:15 this morning. I started calling for a redelivery immediately since the driver's area is within 3 blocks of our house and have been given the run around all day with the driver STILL in our area. It is now 5 pm and through numerous phone calls I have been told that the package would be redelivered tomorrow, no wait, they would try to deliver today again, no wait, they would make an exception and deliver at my husband's business 1/2 mile away, no wait, they want me to get in my car and even though I've told them I'm 7 months pregnant, I should try to run down the street to chase the truck that is a 1/2 block away? Yeah. That's responsible. Good plan. And if any of this stuff doesn't work or the computers don't boot up I can wait for you to pick up and return the stuff you damaged by leaving it sitting in your truck all day in the cold. I missed the first delivery attempt of an important package and was told over the phone that I could pick it up this past Saturday from the Franklin Park facility. When I got there I was told that my package wasn't even on the premises and that it was in a warehouse that no one had access to that day. The woman I spoke to kept trying to tell me they could reschedule delivery for Monday even though I stressed the fact that no one would be home until after 6 that evening and the package would be missed again. I also explained that I needed it by Sunday to complete a business order. She told me I could have someone pick it up for me Monday evening as long as we have the same address. Monday afternoon I called the facility to make sure my father could pick the package up for me and was told he couldn't. Despite the fact that we have the same address, the woman on the phone said that he was not allowed to pick up my package because we have different last names. She then transferred me two times and disconnected me once. I talked to another woman who seemed a bit more sympathetic and transferred me to a woman at the front desk to see if they would make an exception. When I spoke to the next woman she told me my father could pick up my package with no problems. She actually sounded confused and annoyed that I was told he couldn't. My father was able to pick it up without any further complications later that evening. UPS definitely needs better communication among workers, especially at the Franklin Park facility. I dealt with 5 different UPS workers throughout this entire ordeal and none seemed to be on the same page regarding the status of my package and how their system operates. read more

So I was a bit miffed that UPS made one attempt to deliver my package, called it final and automatically sent it to the service center for pick-up. Calling to discuss this and specifically ascertain where my package was sent me into automated voice system Hades although I finally managed to speak with a live person who was wonderfully pleasant and helpful. On to the service center, I was there less than two minutes. My interactions with UPS, and this particular Customer Center in particular, fill me with a brand of rage previously reserved for Chase Bank. As of today, I have been trying to return a package to the sender for THREE WEEKS. I started out by searching the UPS website. Then I called the 800 number. Got absolutely nowhere. So then I sent an email. The string of emails between UPS and I is currently at around 20. I was told a representative from my local delivery center would call me. They did--I was working and missed the call. So I called back during business hours. No answer, no voicemail. More emails are exchanged. I'm told they'll attempt to contact me again before the close of business that day. Hours roll by, no call. I send another email. Yesterday I call this place AGAIN and finally get Tim on the phone. Tim is rude from word one. I try to explain the situation, give him the tracking number. He says, "This package was delivered on October 31st!" I say, " I am well aware of that. That is the problem. I have not been able to resove this issue with UPS in 3 weeks." Finally he agrees to send a driver to pick up the package. He tells me I have to be at home because the driver will have to inspect the package and question me before he accepts it. I'm not allowed to leave it in the mailroom in my building, which is where UPS left when they delivered it in the first place. I tell him in no uncertain terms that no one will be home until after 7 pm. He says he will send the driver the next day. When I got home, there's an InfoNotice on my door. This morning I left the package and last night's info notice in the mailroom. I called UPS once again. This time I spoke to Vera, who seemed to have been infected by Tim's attitude problem. She tells me that she sent a driver to my address to pick up the package weeks ago, which is a lie. She's tells me it's hard to get a driver to pick it up when I put time constraints on it. She wants to know why I won't just leave the package in the mailroom. This is after I explained to her that Tim--her coworker--expressly forbid me from doing so. Eventually I say, "I don't care if you send a driver and hour from now. This has been going on for 3 weeks. I want it taken care of." It took me three days, a great amount of Tweeting, calling the 800 number, emailing them, speaking to two local supervisors and someone finally came and picked up a package that shouldn't have been delivered. I was stick at home waiting for these guys to pick it up. Neighbors complained. Fire Dept came and cited for violation the box was so big. We just moved to a new neighborhood and since then had nothing but problems with UPS. Almost all packages which are delivered by them end up having some kind of issue. It happened twice now that packages just went back to Franklin Park and were held there without actually informing us about this (I had to find out by tracking the package online). Why? Because the apartment number was missing due to an online error. I have a newborn baby so I am not willing to make the track out to Franklin Park - a 45 minute drive - just so I can pick up a goddamn package. Why there is no closer UPS station for me, I do not know, I think it's ridiculous. What is also ridiculous is that other delivery services like Fedex have no problem leaving the packages for us even when the apartment number is missing. So why is that? And why is there no other option for me than to pick it up all the way out there? With Fedex I can go online and have it either re-delivered or delivered to a closer location. I NEVER had this problem when I was still living in Lakeview, how come? I feel like it must have to do with this UPS location. They sent a postcard saying that our name wasn't listed at our address so they couldn't deliver, when it is CLEARLY listed on our buzzer right by the door. So they finally got in touch with me after calling and thinking they were going to attempt it again, but told me it is being sent back to the shipper and I have to contact them. The lady I talked to was very rude, even when I was being very pleseant about the situation. My rating for UPS in general is one star. It is hard to understand why UPS can't ring a clearly marked door bell. Usually they will leave the package outside and leave even when I've sat home all day waiting. I've gotten around this particular "not my job" thing by making sure that I go online and have UPS notify me when delivery has been made - I get an email. When I receive that, I go to my foyer and find the package by the door outside. Extremely frustrating. I would give this facility 4 stars. I have gone to the Franklin Park facility on a Saturday and have not encountered any problems getting my package, I do go right when they open. Everyone has always been nice. I've gotten my package, and out of there in 10 minutes. What really is annoying is we've paid for shipping to our door, but because it must be against UPS regulations to ring a door bell we have to drive somewhere and pick up the delivery that we paid for to come to our home. I received an email today stating my replacement debit card was to be delivered by UPS from Bank of America. I received a message stating it was delivered to my front door at 1:41 pm. When I got home from work it wasn't here. I called UPS twice which is a complete waste of time. No human response, only a prompt to file a claim which takes a long time to complete. This is a missing debit card, it needs to be addressed immediately. I mostly blame Bank of America for this mess. I live in a condo so UPS doesn't have access to my mailbox so the envelope was probably left on the floor where anyone could take it. At least the Post Office would have put it in my mailbox. I do not believe a delivery attempt was ever made. These packages did not require a signature. There wasn't even a missed delivery post-it on my mail box. These packages should have been left at my mailbox like all my packages have been in recent weeks. I believe the driver didn't even come to my apartment or make any effort to delivery these packages and now I have to wait three more days for the holiday weekend due to his laziness. The word furious does not do justice for my level of anger and frustration with your service. I have had countless issues with this UPS branch, specifically one driver in particular. That is why I removed the signature requirement for all my deliveries; otherwise, I would have to drive to the distribution center and pick them up myself. Now he is just skipping me. Absurd!! I also have a landlord that sits in his office 90% of the day whom willingly accepts packages for the entire complex and holds them for his tenants to retrieve conveniently. UPS service is only as good as your driver, and I have to say that most of them over the past 2 years have been providing sub-standard service. Much of this, as explained to me by my old UPS driver (whose route was reduced and my street was collateral damage), is partly due to the contracts that were passed several years ago. They are no longer required to hand you your package. In the old days, and I am talking about just 5 or so years ago, packages went hand-to-hand, from their hands to yours. Now they can just leave it. I'm in an apartment building so it's a judgement call for the driver, and the not so good ones will just dump the boxes and not bother to ring the doorbell, so they sit there in an unsecured area for the entire time until either you come home, or happen to go downstairs (since you have no idea your package was delivered since they didn't bother to ring your bell), or someone else comes and helps themselves and decides that what you paid for are theirs for the taking. We've had people shop for goodies on our block before, so obviously the word is out that UPS dumps and runs. This has also happened to a lot of my neighbors, who are normally home during the day since we have a lot of people who either work from home or are retired. It's tough to get your package right away if you have no idea it was left, somewhere. Even worse, they will state on the tracking that it was left at the front door. Sorry guys, but I do not live next to the sidewalk, our front doors are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. And thanks for leaving it where anyone walking by on the sidewalk can help themselves. I have lost count of the times that I waited for a "Signature Required" package, and then entered the tracking number to find that the driver lied and said that an attempt was made but no one was available. Maybe if the slough offs would actually do their job it would sure help the recipients to get our packages. After one of the second stringer drivers lied and said I signed for a package I didn't, my neighbor went ballistics and called the Franklin Park Operations Supervisor, and for one full week, they gave us our old UPS driver back. That didn't last long, or long enough. Today I was expecting two packages, both Signature Required. The alternate driver brought one of them. After an hour, I went online to find out what the deal was with the second package. Same story: "Customer not available." Excuse me, I was available for the first driver... but he rang the doorbell so I could answer the door. And yes, thank you, the doorbells here all work fine, as long as you remember to use them. They do not, and perhaps this is the huge problem, they do not work telepathically. They require someone to physically press the little buggards. I'd post the phone number for the Franklin Park Operations Center, but it changed yet again, and the number one of my old drivers gave me doesn't seem to work anymore. By the way, if there is a company that you regularly do business with that ships UPS, you should alert them about the low service level that your particular area is getting. This way you are on record with notifying them. It is easier to have the company apply pressure to UPS than a single individual, since losing a big shipping customer would not be a plus for them. And one more thing. I used to love, love, love my UPS service. I had several drivers who could almost walk on water. They were great, they were friendly, helpful, hardworking, zipped up to my 3rd floor flat with no problem, even if they were carrying what seemed like an impossibly heavy box, and were so service oriented that I used to ask that my items be shipped UPS. Wow, have things changed. My love affair with UPS is no more. I'd give them a second chance if they'd put my old drivers back on the route, or give us drivers that have the sheer strength to consistently raise their arms to ring the doorbell, and even bring our packages upstairs to us. I so miss the old days of UPS service, you know, the ones a few years ago where they actually brought your packages to you!? PS One of my good friends is a driver for them, and he used to be one of the guys who almost "walked on water" when he did this route. He still hand delivers all his packages, but he's "old school."
