If I could have given zero stars, I would have. Went to this location last night to drop off a computer to be shipped to Utah. There was one customer in from of me who was discussing a package that had not been delivered. The customer was having no luck getting information on the phone, so decided to discuss the issue in person. The agent was trying to be helpful but could not tell the customer where the package was or if/when it would be returned to the warehouse. 20 minutes later, the shipping clerk glanced at me and asked if I had a shipment. I told her I needed to ship my computer to Utah. She pointed to the corner and said "find a box and I can take care of you." There were no laptop boxes available. She finally went to check in the back and returned empty handed. She recommended I got to the other side of the office and grab a padded envelop and put that in the box. There were no padded envelopes so I returned to the counter where three more customers had arrived. She ignored me to take care of the first customer and then when she bothered to glance my way, she asked "you got a problem?" I told her to continue to take care of the rest of the customers and then we could discuss my problem. She said I didn't need to give her attitude. After she took care of the three customers, she went to the back again and remained there for five minutes. I just left. She expected me to put a $1,000 computer in a padded envelope and a box to bang around on its way to Utah. I don't know what the problem was or why I was being treated like a bother, when all I wanted to do was get my computer shipped safely. I am sure if she had completed my shipment, the laptop would be on its way to some unknown location never to be found again. read more

This is the WORST FedEx shipping center I've ever had the misfortune of working with. So far, out of all the FedEx hubs to deliver to my address, this is the only one that seems to be convinced my address doesn't exist. Rather than following the delivery instructions provided or making any attempt to contact me, the drivers keep returning my package to the shipping center and listing my address as incorrect. I've called four times in three days, opened up three different tickets, and have been assured by customer service reps every time that the driver will call me when they deliver; they have never once attempted to call me. I spent 6 years working in logistics, and it is crystal clear that this delivery hub lacks any and all training. It's truly pathetic. read more

Drivers from this facility lie about delivering packages. We have cameras all over my building complex and driver keeps lying about attempting delivery. I called several FedEx offices both corporate (overseas barely understandable English) and local offices. Filed two complaints and no one has followed even thought the package was sent overnight express and is now exactly 7 days later. I made the mistake of paying to have a package delivered early and here we are a week after it was suppose to be delivered. I got a called last week regarding my package, asking if the shipping address was correct. Twice they failed to deliver a perishable goods package for a friend of mine. They claim "attempted delivery" but no notice or call. This resulted in the goods going back to the hub and spoiling. The first round they redelivered the spoiled package and just left it, when previously stating no one was there to receive the package the first time. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Any businesses who ship Fed Ex are making a huge and costly mistake. I purchased an item that shipped on Wednesday arrived to the Fed Ex Hillside on Thursday but wasn't scheduled for delivery until Monday. On Friday I asked if I could pickup my package, I was told I could not pick it up until after my scheduled delivery. How stupid is this? They want their customers to pay for expedited shipping EVEN IF THE SHIPPING TIME IS ONLY A DAY OR 2. THEY HOLD YOUR PACKAGES HOSTAGE FOR DAYS BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR IT TO ARRIVE ANY EARLIER. This is very indicative of the LAZY, ONLY DO THE BARE MINIMUM culture at FED EX. If you choose Fed Ex to ship to your customers than youre sending the message that you also are only interested in the bare minimum. UPS delivers early ALL THE TIME. UPS doesn't hold your packages hostage, they deliver them as soon as they are available to deliver. I wouldn't feel comfortable having merchandise sit around surrounded by people committed to the bare minimum. The chances of something getting lost or damaged increases, it isn't their's to hold anyway. Intentionally holding merchandise that doesn't belong to you should be illegal. read more

I made a mistake and had a package shipped to me rather than my parent's home...where someone is ALWAYS home to get a UPS or FedEx package. Me... the odds of me being there to receive it are slim to none. Love the fact I got my Amazon Package delivered quickly, but when FedEx is coming by at 9am during the week... it does me no good. After missing my delivery twice, and not trusting them to leave it with the other people around in my apartment complex, I decided to make the trip out to Hillside from Lisle to pick it up. I'm not sure why, but I was dreading this. The plus side...they're open till 9pm so heading out at 7:30 didn't take me too long. Once I got there, plenty of cars were in the lot, but NONE inside to go pick up my package. I highly suggest going at on off peak hour - one person working, but no one in line so it was very simple, and a totally painless experience. read more

This FedEx has horrible service. I received a text that my package would be delivered by end of the day for 3 days. Then they called on the 4th day to say they made 3 delivery attempts. This is a lie. We waited everyday and didn't go to bed until midnight. They never came at all. The claimed that the last attempt was at 9pm last night. I missed my package the first day they came, so I left the signed door tag on my front door. That was 2 days ago. Called customer service and the driver is claiming they've been attempting to come everyday. The original door tag is still hanging, and I never received any additional door tags notifying me that this is the 2nd/3rd/final attempt. Turns out they've been going to the wrong address... Makes me wonder how the first attempt was correct, but the 2nd and 3rd were going to the wrong place? Also, I when I try to track the door tag number, the FedEx website can't "find it". The number Hillside has listed is just the general customer service number, even on the official FedEx website (probably trying to circumvent the calls/complaints people have)? if a package does not belong to their area. they sit on it for teo weeks and return to shipper. Stating you refused it though they sat on it and never put it in a truck to try and deliver it. Then you have to reorder the item or items And hope & pray it does not go back to Fedex of Hillside, its too much for them to send it to the correct Fedex location for my address. read more

I was told a package would be delivered to my apartment by 12pm that day and it required a signature. I waited all morning as I live on the second floor of an apartment and specified the delivery instructions to "ring first floor and second floor bells" to insure that someone would get to the door and I'd be able to sign for it. The delivery driver did not ring either of the bells and updated the instructions to "pick up the package from the FedEx facility at 1pm". I arrived at the facility at 1:30pm as I needed the package for work starting the next day and they told me the driver would not be back until after 3. This is more for the warehouse than the ship center, but it could be for the company in general. I have never worked with a company that cared less about their level of customer service. Apparently, they leave it to the delivery drivers discretion if a package or delivery site is " undeliverable". For 4 days the driver on my route has loaded my package on his truck, drove it around all day, then brought it back to be checked into the facility. According to the tracking data. Every day I have called and they can only say" it's in the truck" and a manger will call me back with an explanation which they have yet to do. I have been transferred to the shipping docks only to be told managers "need to work" and can not take time out for customers. The dock workers I spoke to went from zero to 60 on shouting and being defensive when they found out I was calling to resolve an issue. No one there seems at all interested in the simple expedient of asking the driver what is going on or giving it to another driver to deliver if he can't. "It's on the truck" seems to absolve them from all responsibility. It's been on that truck for 4 days! This is an issue that should have taken one or 2 days to resolve not turn into the story of one packages epic journey. read more

I have no clue how FedEx stays in business. I had an envelope sized delivery which clearly would have fit thru the mail slot. But still...they didnt leave it...it had a weird message saying they were dropping it off at Walgreen's....what??!?!? why!?!?...i call the 800 number to ask if thats right, that they would drop it off at Walgreens and the person says no. It will be available at the Hillside location after 7pm. Ok fine. And when you go back to the store at the requested time, nobody knows where the driver is. I had a package shipped to me next day on Saturday 7/28/2018 that was suppose to arrive at my home. The driver went to the wrong address when the label clearly states the correct address. The driver took my package back to the Hillside Fedex and marked incorrect address on the label. I had to drive 20 miles to receive my package. Worst service ever. The couriers cant even read the proper addresses labeled. They delivered my package twice to the incorrect address. I had to go through hours of customer service over the course of multiple days. I also spoke to the manager of the facility and she even had wrong information. She explained to me that the courier was new when the packages were delivered on the weekday and weekend which are done with two different couriers. My package was supposed to be delivered on Thursday, it was even out for delivery, yet it was not delivered. Okay, I still understanding that the courier was not able to deliverer all packages. My package is back out for delivery on Friday. I even called FedEx to make sure my package was going to be delivered, and the rep stated it would. My package was not delivered. The delivery date is now next week Tuesday! Whoever the drivers are working for this location are a complete joke. I have already filed a complaint and will be following up until something is done. FedEx is the worse. I've been dealing with their customer service for over 3 days on a package valued over $300 dollars. It required a signature, so the first day that they delivered it someone was home but never heard the doorbell ring. They never rang it. So I call them and they said that I can either wait until Monday to have them deliver again or I can drive an hour each way to get my package in the freezing snow. After talking to multiple people, they arrange to have it delivered the next day. I was home waiting for the package and had the signed door tag on the front door. A few hours go by and I check my tracking, showing that it was delivered and signed by someone I don't even know. Turns out, it was delivered to a completely different address in a different city in a retail space. After spending hours again on the phone with multiple people in customer service , I am told that someone will attempt to deliver it by 6pm today. No guarantees by FedEx. However, this should not have happened to begin with and no one is doing anything to be held accountable. They just keep repeating that they have to follow their protocol when it wasn't to begin with and provide no details regarding the situation when they have all the information. They are rude, put you on hold, and often end up hanging up on you. Someone needs to be held for this inexcusable error, an apology doesn't make up for it all. I am only giving them a 1 star rating because Yelp won't let me post otherwise. They deserve 0 stars. read more

I had a phone shipped through FedEx with Verizon Wireless. I am not very happy with these guys. First, I ordered the phone Thursday, and it didn't come till Tuesday after they told me it would be here Saturday, or Monday. I had 2 packages that I ordered from California Thursday night AFTER the phone was ordered, and they came by USPS on MONDAY! Why even pay extra to use FedEx? So then it turns out Verizon put West Lake St. instead of East Lake Street (there isn't even a West Lake St.). I was so frustrated at this point, my husband called the customer service center and they absolutely refused to change the West to East! He told him that the phone will be at the Hillside facility at 6:30pm. My husband works 6pm-6am. They wouldn't even allow ME to pick up my own phone .... even if I took in our marriage certificate!! (My DL still has my maiden name). The man on the phone basically told us tough sh*t. So after bitching to 2 other people from FedEx, we hit a nicer lady who called the driver and got him to come drop off the package. What a horrific, frustrating experience! Why should I spend my own money to drive and pick up MY package that they are suppose to deliver, just because they don't want to change the address? It was equally Verizon's fault, but FedEx could have been a little less rude and more understanding. I won't ever be using FedEx again, I will use something a little more reliable like UPS. read more

We live in a building and the building office opens only after 9:30. The driver attempted to deliver before the leasing office opens, they never call us on our phone. What they expect us to do, just sit in the building lobby waiting for them. Which we did actually. The tracking details said that they would attempt to deliver at 10:30, so we waited in the lobby from 10 onwards only to realize that they already tried before 9 like the previous two times. I had a package that was supposed to deliver yesterday and since I was not home I received a door tag stating that I could pick up the package in Hillside after 6 pm. When I got there of course the package was not there and they did not know when the driver would be back. They did let me know that they closed at 9pm and I could just wait there until the driver got back. Since I did not think that waiting for up to 3 hours was the correct answer I should have received, I now have to go back to the facility to try and retrieve the package again. If given the choice I would strongly recommend not using FedEx. I have always used UPS and never had these issues. If given the choice by the supplier I would not have shipped via FedEx. read more

lousy service!!! driver rang another doorbell (not ours) and left information receipt on door to our condo building, i sat at home all day waiting for ups driver to deliver sports tickets - i watched for him as well as to monitor any deliveries. no service for our unit so when my brother came home from a hard days work he saw that another unit had a notice. to check matters he contacted ups to find out where tickets were to game on sunday. he was directed to hillside of all places - we are a long drive from hillside and person on phone located his package and told my brother his ups delivered tickets are at hillside and won't be delivered until monday (well, usp - game is sunday and it was your driver;s fault not to pay attention to address label and ring another doorbell). where is the customer service on this???? customer buys expensive tickets just to have them go back to hillside - so......my brother has to go out in bad weather we had today to drive to hillside to pick up his tickets - nothing was offered as customer service to appease the matter just too bad - tickets at hillside 45 - 1 hr drive for him. driver or that business needs to compensate my brother for having to get his own tickets delivered!!!!!!! read more
