The item I was returning via UPS pre printed label had explicit instructions not to drop off at a "box" and instead to use a drop off store as if that was some kind of substantive difference that anyone would know about, like the difference between a Nicaraguan and a Dominican origin cigar (one had airtime in a Seinfeld episode, the other did not.) The UPS locator URL schwiftposted this address conveniently just down the block from the Central Market one way and the Whataburger the other way down Westheimer. So I was slightly expecting an immersive package sending experience and not just sliding something into a box, also known as a glory hole for box sized packages in certain parts of town that "a friend" frequents. Instead I parked in the tiny parking lot, most spots blocked off for the gittin your nails did studio next door in the strip mall, and walked into a space devoid of customer experience. I approached the one woman working the entire store by herself and asked if this is where UPS packages go because this was either that, or the jerk store. She just points at the back to a box, which is what UPS told this beautiful bitch NOT to do in written instructions. I ask if I get a receipt or anything as proof I put this package where I was supposed to according to her instructions in this "authorized" store based on UPS website, in case some kind of scofflaw or other criminal were to stuff the package down their underoos and abscond with it into the night. She just shook her head no. Not excellent customer service. But the package eventually got to where it needed to go so I guess this thing works alright. Location conveniently located near the Whataburger on the right side of the street (Lamar side) for your post-package drop off victory celebration that you are full scale adulting and doing things on your own without the aid of an executive assistant or personal secretary that used to do everything for you.

They packed it and I insured it for $3500. UPS dropped it in transit and crushed the motor head. Imtra declared it unfixiable. UPS declined my claim against the insurance because they said the packing was insufficient. Your Printing Now declined the claim because UPS dropped the package. What good is insurance? Your Printing Now claims to be an agent of UPS. In the future I will take my expensive mailings directly to the UPS store so finger pointing is eliminated. John E.

Remarkably, ACTS Crating and Transportation Services was the last company I had seen on Yelp, and…read morealmost didn't call them. What a mistake that would have been! I had contacted other movers, but ultimately I was looking for a company to complete my overseas move by crating my oil paintings for safe transit. I had completed all other packing into boxes and needed someone to move the boxes to a freight forwarder on the other side of Houston, but to pack the paintings for an overseas shipment. The issue was I needed this at short notice, within a couple of days. I called into ACTS and spoke directly to Rick. Rick immediately began to understand my situation and asked questions about the move which showed not only his competence and command of the situation, (which was clear evidence that he had significant experience in such moves), but asked detailed questions on every aspect of the shipment contents. It was clear he wanted to be sure he was able to confirm not only that he was able to deliver a solution in the short time frame, but that the estimate for my job was both realistic and competitive. Rick then checked on the resources he had available and called back quickly to let me know that he was unable to make the move within my initial two days request, but that it would be possible by the end of the week. After I checked with my Shipping Agent, I confirmed with Rick that his job timing was good, and could be accepted. Right on time, Rick sent a team of two to load their truck and move the belongings back to their warehouse where crating could be made. Observations on the team were that they were very professional, took pictures of the load before moving anything, and were incredibly efficient with no wasted time. They also wore the company uniforms which communicated a strong air of professionalism in their service. After the items were returned to the warehouse, Rick subsequently advised me that their original quote was able to be reduced significantly, as they were able to comfortably and safely crate the smaller items in with the larger paintings. This resulted in more than $225 in savings. As an extra, Rick was also able to remove each and every one of the 40+ original shipping labels and replace them with the new shipping date labels I had emailed him. No small feat to remove and replace into plastic shipping pouches, it takes time, for sure. All part of the service as far as Rick was concerned. What a huge weight off my shoulders. The billing was fast, and upon completion of e-payment, my shipment was loaded and taken to its final destination within the hour. I can only say without a shadow of a doubt, that the experience I had with ACTS and especially the professionalism displayed by Rick and his team in meeting my tight schedule and requirements is second to none when it comes to moving. I do not say this lightly. I have been in the Oil & Gas industry almost 30 years and have traveled and lived in more than 37 countries. On each occasion that I had to move my home, it was without exception a period of great anxiety. However, on this occasion, it was truly painless. Thank you Rick, and many thanks to your whole team for the job you did. I will pass your name out in the community as best I can. Both ladies that I got in contact with claimed there were no company trucks with their company logo/name on there, however you clearly see the company truck having the company's name as well as a phone number clear as day on the driver door. The first lady that I spoke with said I need to call Cardinal logistics because that's not their company but when I pulled along side of the truck, I clearly see the phone number to their company. So I called the phone number and the same lady answered. I explained to her my safety concern and just wanted to let her know I was reporting the driver to the police. I am disappointed that even the office does not hold their drivers nor company accountable for the reckless driving that occurred at seven in the morning on shepherd going south bound. It's already a lot of traffic and there are laws put in place to avoid collision: putting your signal on ahead of time, merging into lanes safely, etc. The driver of this box truck failed to comply with the law and almost causes a wreck between him and another truck that was in front of me, all because he wanted to get in the right lane to turn right. If you need to do that you need to put your signal on ahead of time to let people know what you are doing and be in the lane in which you need to be in prior to turning!
