Came here to get a cut the day before a wedding that I was in. I came up here from LA so basically fielded barbershops in the area based on recommendations and referrals. Needless to say, this was a solid and stellar recommendation. Got my cut from the dude Adrian (@ac.blenderson via IG to check his work out) and he did a dope job to say the less. Their process is pretty accommodating and scheduling isn't an issue at this shop. Definitely a lot more organized than a LOT of the spots I've tested out (both in NorCal and SoCal). Fairly punctual on time and without a doubt wasn't a half assed job. Even listening to the barbers here chop it up, you can tell they put a lot of time in their craft. They've got their regulars here and I see why. I never fully understand why folks get mad about accommodation, it's not like barbers just push all other customers aside for one person (unless you're paying a ridiculous amount haha). Just be better at your own time management. The folks here have their simple rules to follow when scheduling and it's really a seamless process that you can track digital, makes life a lot easier instead of guessing time frames. So yeah, if you're in a time crunch to get a cut, or if you're just need a new barber to build some tenure with, the homies over here are welcoming and professional. read more

On time 99.9 of the time Timmel listens to my son and what he wants 99.9 of the time and he's only 6 The shop never smells like weed I care if my sons breathing that in. Adults can do what they want but my son don't need to breathe that feel me? My son had a barber prior to Timmel and I left him he hit on me and made me uncomfortable. I made an appointment for my 3 grandkids ages 3, 9, & 12 with Keenan through Booksy. On his page the price state $30 and that's what I booked. I have gotten their hair cut before by him in the past. He waited until the end to state that his prices have went up. My eldest grandson had an afro fade and came back with a mohawk look. If you have any extra time....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Go to a barber who prices are the same as listed on line and you book. You ought to be shame of yourself. You should charge what your Booksy site state your price are and what I booked it for. It is your responsibility to update your prices. I see why he have many open appointments. With unprofessional behaviors such as this he will continue to have them. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I decided to try a real barber shop instead of my normal Great Clips... What a mistake! I came by on my way home from work to get a simple buzz on my undercut... Nobody even acknowledged me when I came in and sat down... I felt extremely uncomfortable sitting there while everyone talked to everyone like they where good friends, but not a single person even looked at me! After the two people who were there before me finished up... I figured I was next... I was wrong! I sat there while 3 other people who got there after me were offered a chair and wasn't even offered a simple, "We'll be with you in a moment." I felt completely invisible and disrespected! Both my son & husband got their hair cut by iggy on Saturday. I must say that is the absolute BEST blend on a bald fade I've seen on my husband. The shape up was precise & even. He cleaned up his facial hair really well too. Absolutely zero complaints about the quality of cut. What truly impressed me was quality of service with my son (age 2). My son is super reluctant to let anyone touch his hair with clippers; we've walked out of the old barber shop we went to twice without a cut prior to trying this place. It took a little maneuvering between my husband & I to get him to be still enough to get his hair cut (he ended up sitting on my lap with my husband holding his head still lol) but the cut went quickly & he went completely unscathed despite moving so much. Iggy was even kind enough to give him a lollipop after he dropped his. I'm still giving 5 stars based on overall experience but I would suggest deleting the profile on the Barber app. My husband initially booked appointments through the app only for us to show up & be told he doesn't use that app any more. Went in thinking it was a professional barbershop based on reviews, the barber seemed to rush over my haircut and didn't take into consideration of what I wanted, showed him a picture of a style, he said ok and it was the opposite, the fade wasn't even faded looks like my 7 year old daughter cut my hair, didn't even clean off my extra hair of blow off my excess hair. I went in for a straight razor shave. Afterwards I immediately went to Safeway to buy a disposable bic because I could get a closer shave. While I was there one barber had to ask another how to do a mohawk correctly despite mohawks being a feature styled they had listed on their store front. All the stylists were silent and seemed almost devoid of passion. The few haircuts that I did see them finish were exceptionally better then anything I've seen from a supercuts or other chain establishments. The prices were about equivalent. As many people can relate, finding a good barber is not easy. You have to like the person, have good synergy, and on top of that, they must cut your hair the way you like it, and consistently cut it that particular way every single time. Earlier this year, my former barber unfortunately moved away to a different state and I was on the hunt for a replacement. After many applications, and risky attempts, I tried this place out. Let me start off by saying that this is decorated well. There's a boxing theme to it hence the name and the design and seating are fairly comfortable. There are some pretty beat down barbershops out there, so this was already a plus for me. My particular barber is Ratio and i've been getting cut by him for almost a year now. My fades are consistent and my beard has never looked better. He's fairly punctual and is a reasonable person. I personally believe that it's my barber's responsibility to keep the quality of my hair up to par and he must be innovative and up for suggestions on how to make my hair and beard look the best possible. Ratio has excelled in all of the following criteria's and I can always expect a solid cut everytime I go in. I've sent some friends and family to him, and highly recommend you give him a try. All of the barbers work on appointment or walk-ins, and I believe Saturdays are walk-ins only. The whole team is always welcoming and has always treated me with respect. read more

I like that the location is close to the house. I've only been to 2 barber at this place: Chantal and Ratio...both did amazing jobs on my son's hair. Note: make an appointment if you want a weekday visit, if you want a cut on Saturday wake up early and wait at the door...this place is always packed...a good thing for them not so good if 1) you're not big on waiting, 2) have someplace to be or 3) not there for the barbershop chatter....I'm usually all 3, so I make a Friday appt. wait 15 minutes or so, my son is getting cut for 20 to 30 (they take their time and do a great job!!), pay the barber and get out! read more

This is the only barbershop I go to. They can occasionally get busy, so do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment. They are pretty punctual if you have an appointment. Saturday is walk-ins only, they open at 9:30...the early birds line up as early as 8:30. Timmel is excellent at cutting designs into hair cuts. If your son wants to look unique, fresh, and on point, bring him to Upper Kutz. The shop is clean and well kept. They are usually playing some music or have the tv on. Haven't ever heard any of the barbers curse or have any off the wall conversations, so it's definitely a family friendly barber shop. Worst cut my son has had. My husband took him yesterday evening and this is what the result was. She did a horrible job. The picture of the back speaks a thousand words. The side is suppose to be a fade but it looks all one length all the way to his hard part . My son has a a barber but we weren't able to get him in before the holiday so we took him here. I guess this is what happens when you cheat on your barber. I'm upset he even paid for this cut. In fairness I understand any business could have a fluke moment and I'd like to update the review with saying the owner Timmel was very prompt and professional in responding to the review. He offered a full refund and to fix the cut the very next day even being that it was Thanksgiving. We happened to be out of town all weekend due to the holiday so he offered to fix it when we returned. I would say that type of customer service from the owner deserves an update. Yes the haircut from one of the barbers was really bad but offering to personally fix it even on a holiday shows excellent customer service. read more

I've been here twice now and both times have been extremely satisfied! My first time in, Chantal did my fade and she did a great job! It was my first time shaving the bottom half of my hair off and was nervous, but she did awesome! She did a triquetra pattern on the back of my head and two lines along the side. The second time I went back, is was really made me feel like they cared about their customers. It was Memorial Day weekend (Saturday) and I had called earlier on in the day to see what time they were open til. The person on the phone said 5, so I thought it was perfect to head over right after work. I arrived around 4:20 but the shop was closed up already. I was a bit miffed that I was told it would be open and I had driven all the way out for it to be closed. HOWEVER. My man RATIO is the best and hooked it up! He saw that I was walking up to the door and knowing they were already closed, let me know. He was just hanging out in his car and said "not to worry, just go on inside and I'll take care of you". He took time out of his own free time (even though they closed) and still did my fade! Not to mention, he did an amazing job and I loved the the personal touch that he added onto the style suggestions I had given him.
