Five stars for a great haircut. I was able to make an appointment today (called around 9:45, was seen at 11 am). The shop is low-frills but the barbers know to do their jobs. I got a zero-length, medium fade and it cost $17. I think it was well worth it and I look forward to going back. I normally get my hair cut by Lee, and it always comes out great. I stopped by a couple days ago, but Lee wasn't there, so I had the younger guy cut my hair instead. I think his name was David. I have to say, this is probably the worst haircut I've ever paid money for. The cuts I used to give myself during COVID were far better than this. I asked for a mid-fade and to leave the top long, but it pretty much came out looking like a buzzed bowl cut. I had to ask him several times to fade the back more, and he still wasn't able to correct it. The top of my hair looks like he trimmed it short with his eyes closed. As if he decided to randomly leave some parts long and some super short. I hate leaving such a bad review for a place I've frequented and had good experiences with, but this last haircut honestly has me wondering if this guy even has a license to cut hair. The worst part is I'll be sporting this terrible cut for my grad school commencement ceremony. read more

I am absolutely appalled with my boyfriends haircut. He gets a pretty basic trim when he goes in. 2 on the sides and faded to his part. The hair on top just gets trimmed by hand so he can slick it back. He's either going to shave his head or wear a hat until it grows out. It's not even style-able. She shaved his head all the way up to the part. Then she did the worst neck line I have ever seen. He said it was the worst haircut he has gotten in 20 years. That being said, I cut his hair 2 months ago. I understand covid, and places being rushed to produce for the masses because a lot of places are closed. I work in a restaurant and it's a struggle every single day to meet standards with the amount of foot traffic we have. We have been setting records with our sales. It's nuts. That being said, there's a standard. If you're reading this and work there, if you're going to give poor service from being overworked, I'd take a day. If you're pulling record sales, I think you can afford a sick day. I feel like an asshole for writing this, but seriously. C'mon. That hair has to be seen in public. My poor boyfriend is going to have to sport it with a smile on his face. P.s. he also got a beard trim and it looks exactly the same. read more

My husband just left here and called me saying this was the most aggressive haircut he's ever gotten. The women who did his hair did not listen to him at all, and started trimming his beard way tooo short and he had to repeatedly demand she stop. He's headed home now to fix his beard to the best of his ability. Thanks for that mam. He's very easy to please so I know you had no clue what you were doing. I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Pro-Tech Barber Shop! Le is an excellent barber and and gave me one of the best flattop haircuts I've had in recent memory. The shop is inviting and has just enough old school barbershop charm. I called the shop at about Noon on a Saturday to ask if they did flattop haircuts and who in the shop should I ask for. Often times the answer is "everyone is good." I've never had a good experience with a shop that answers my question that way. Le was different and said he does flattops and then mentioned two others in the shop as well. I was able to make an appointment for 4:30 the same day which was very convenient. I arrived at the shop a few minute early and was greeted right away. Le was finishing up with another customer but he had me in the chair right at 4:30, very efficient. I brought a picture of a flattop I'd had last year that I liked. (Helpful tip: when going to a new barber, bring a picture of yourself with the haircut you want if at all possible. Avoids a lot of miscommunication). To make a long story short, Le went right to work with the efficiency of a barber who absolutely knew what he was doing and the result was just what I asked for, perfect. I always go a little longer when trying a new barber, just in case it needs be fixed. No fixing necessary and I will definitely trust Le to go shorter next time. read more

Just took my husband there Friday as a walk-in, first time at a barber, waited maybe 15 minutes. My husband is recovering from a broken neck and kinda weak in standing and two gentlemen helped me stand him up, one of the barbers and the cusyomer he was working on. Truly appreciated their help. He was a little unkempt from wearing a neck brace 3 months but they did an excellent job shaving his beard, getting his goatee and mustache trimmed as well as his hair. We will be back. Looking for a place that was open on a specific day, this one came up. I really hoped for the best because my son needed a haircut that day and so we took a chance. The place is tucked in a little strip off San Juan avenue close to Madison avenue. We walked in, my son told the person cutting his hair what he wanted and she did exactly what he wanted. It turned out great and my son looked super handsome. When I was told the total before including the tip, I was in shock. Very inexpensive. My son loves how quick they are and that they give him the haircut he wants. Sometimes there's a wait time but nothing crazy and it is to be expected when you're a walk in. read more

When I was trying to pay for this horrendous job, I got surrounded by all 3 employees telling me that my son got exactly the same hair cut that we asked for. I'm posting pictures so you be the judge. Second time here & Lee the Vietnamese guy cut my hair. He seemed to have an issue with instructions & I needed to tell him at least twice before something can be accomplished. His posted price is $15 for a men's hair cut, but he ended up charging me $17. $2 isn't a big deal, but the principle in posting updated prices is imperative & needless to say I didn't tip him & will not be coming back. Great place!! I had been getting my high & tight at other barbershops for years... I was rarely happy with the end result. The fade was always uneven and/or lopsided. It came to a point where I just ended up giving myself the ol' buzz cut. One day I was driving down San Juan and decided to stop in and give ProTech a try.... wow!! I was so impressed!! Not only did he cut my hair to perfection, but he also offered a shampoo and wash!! TERRIBLE customer service!!! I went in yesterday to get a haircut since online said they were open. I drove all the way there because it was difficult finding hair cutting places that were open. However nobody was inside and the store was closed down. In the windows was a sign that had a phone number to call, so I did. They said they were closed for the day and I could make an appointment for tomorrow and I did. I work overnights and had a long day. I must've barely missed my alarm to get my haircut at 330pm. My fault, damn. I call them at 340pm apologizing and asked if I could still hurry down for a cut. The Owner must've answered and told me that I am wasting his time and space.... Double Standard? I let him know that he had wasted my time the day before by falsely advertising that they were open online. He asked if I had been there before? I said no, 1st time customer. He replied, "you are not welcome at my shop anymore"! WOW!!! Don't waste your time here people! The place looked pretty beat up and dirty anyways.
