Went in as a first time customer, place looked very nice and a good atmosphere so I thought I should try it. Unfortunately the outcome is not the same. Asked for a very light mullet with a low taper fade, Showed the guy some pictures as reference. My hair did not turn out anything like the pictures. They completely messed up the front cutting it way too short. The front isn't even straight either. Currently in another shop to get it buzzed off. Both of my boys have had their past 3 or so haircuts by barber Gary at J's Barber Shop. They are located at the corner of Greenback and Fair Oaks in the Urgent Care now shopping center. I would always recommend making an appointment at any barber shop because men's haircuts are not quick and you could be waiting a while if they can even take a walk in. Super chill vibe inside with a pool table, interesting decorations at each station and sports on tv to watch. They are also right next door to a little convenience store if you need to grab a cold drink. Barber Gary does a detailed and skilled job on his cuts. Make sure they have a license to cut hair. This is the 3rd time I went there. And every time I came home shaking my head. Will not go back. I don't understand how they got They're 4.5 stars. I never had someone take so long to give a hair cut. Ask for my bang to be 1/2" above the eye brows. I got 2 fingers high of skin before you get to it he hair. About a 1 1/2"above the eye brow. I have a colic. And told him you need to cut my bangs dry. He didn't and then as he weed my hair again I told him again. And it was too late at that point. All I can say folks you're better off letting your kids cut your hair. Because these people you better make sure they have a license. read more

All barbers were with clients and I didn't have an appointment which is normally all bad on a Friday especially memorial weekend. It had been a while and I had the day off, so walked in for a haircut. I didn't wait long and they got me in the chair. I do not like to chat, and was forever grateful that besides the initial "how are you", "what do you do" small stuff, I was able to just relax and get my hair cut. The barbers all get along and they seamed quite talented. I saw lots of different cuts and styles while I was there. Also cool was that I could pay by card. The guy gave me a free electric shave as he was in a rush and didn't have time for a straight razor. Backstory: I've grown my hair out for three years to donate it to Wigs4Kids (cancer charity) so it was no easy task for my barber Jay(Jason) to do what was asked of him.
