I like berry pies and chose raspberry peach and Dutch apple pie. The crust was crumbly and perfectly melts in your mouth. The fruit was fresh and tasted amazing, definitely flavors I enjoyed and would try again. Thankfully they offer coffee choices! I really enjoyed my visit and my iced coffee. Amazing aroma hits one as soon as the door opens. We shared the Lemon curd pie slice and a Bumbleberry cutie a la mode. Unbelievably delicious. Checked this cute bakery out with my sister yesterday on "third Fridays." Located in historic downtown Overland Park, the bakery is surrounded by many other shops in a strip like sense, a cute, fun, and lively area. The decor was very warm and welcoming, as were the staff. Lines were out the door. The first thing I noticed walking in, was the smell, the mouth watering type of smell. On third Fridays they have a special of 3 slices for $9, which is a great deal, as slices are normally $5. However, I found that only a select few pies were a part of this deal, which was slightly disappointing. I ordered the black and blue, lemon curd, and chocolate chip and walnut pie with ice cream on the side. The black and blue was okay. The lemon curd slice was delicious, as I'm a big lemon fan, sweet, gooey, and tarte filling within perfectly baked pie crust. The chocolate chip and walnut pie was my favorite of all the pies. Crunchy and chocolatey, it went perfectly with the side of vanilla ice cream - classic. I also ordered a snicker doodle cookie (I couldn't help myself). Behind the glass the cookie was calling my name. The cookie had a nice size to it! Big and thick. Probably one of the best snicker doodle cookies I've ever had in my life. Please do yourself a favor and get one of these sweet treats, you won't regret it. read more

What a wonderful experience! I am not exactly sure how I happened upon this place but I am so thankful that I did. I came by the bakery on Saturday afternoon, was greeted with smiles when I first came in and the two young ladies who are working behind the counter were very very helpful. I say smiles, they were smiling behind their masks I promise. They asked me if I needed any assistance and I told them that I knew what I wanted because I had looked it up on the website. They were very nice and very helpful. I was excited to get a cherry pie, apple pie, and a Keylime pie. My parents and I really enjoyed our pies and I cannot wait to get my father a full sugar free apple pie for our next family event. THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE. I've always liked pie more than cake and never knew there were bakeries that specifically only made pies until I found this place. You'll immediately notice the smell of fresh pies as soon as you walk into this place. They have many pie flavors and always have a rotating selection to get slices for $5. They have regular sized pies for ~$28 and smaller sized ones called cuties pies for ~$8. I had a phase over the past year where I came here every week and got enough to last a week before I would go again. I would bring these pies to any social gatherings and family events if I was able to. I ate enough pie that my pie cravings slowed down, but now they are coming back. My favorite flavors are blueberry, butterscotch meringue, brown sugar buttermilk, and cinnamon cream. I think their cinnamon pie is seasonal around fall time cause that's actually what caused my pie cravings last year and led me to keep coming here. They also sell quiche pies and cookies. I haven't tried their cookies yet but their quiche pies are delicious. Really flavorful and hard to stop eating. I ate 1/2 of their corn and bacon quiche pie before I remembered I was suppose to share it with my family. They have pie flights every 3rd Friday of each month where you get to choose three flavors for $9-10. I think they recently increased it to $10. Heads up, people line up for their pies, especially on pie flight Fridays. You can also pre-order pies as it gets closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas. But wow people go crazy over their pies to eat for Thanksgiving. Last year, my friend wanted some for his family and I was free to go early cause they make extra pies for the people that didn't pre-order. I went 30 minutes early and there was a long line already. They will limit you to 3 pies if you didn't pre-order and one flavor was already sold out by the time I was at the front of the line. So if you really want their pie for the holidays, I highly suggest you to pre-order. It's worth it. Their prices are a little high, especially if you end up going there every week like me. But at the same time, the quality of the pies makes up for it. All their pie flavors taste good so you won't go wrong with whatever flavor you choose. I'll purposely NOT recommend it to people outside of my inner circle, and "forget" to write its Yelp review in the hopes that it stays exactly the same because I love it EXACTLY as it is. Seriously, they've mastered the niche dessert game and expanded it some. With a breadth of offerings such as full pies, mini pies, slices of pie, cookies, and coffee, it's hard to think of a reason to NOT step foot in here. PIES: Once you choose your size, they have a set amount of rotated offerings to choose from in-store. You also have the ability to order online, though I haven't tried that yet. They use real fruit here, people. I picked up a slice of the Strawberry Rhubarb and you can literally see the strawberry seeds inside the pie! Blueberry and Bumbleberry are my tried-and-true favorites, while Strawberry Rhubarb is a unique and delicious offering. Each pie is distinctive and lacks that generic "dessert taste" you'll occasionally come across at other restaurants and bakeries. COFFEE: Although we're officially transitioning seasons, their Cold Brew is actually delicious. They didn't put cream/milk in it initially, but after taking a few sips, I realized I didn't need to: their black coffee tastes amazing. Blame it on the ice or my quenched thirst, but their coffee is easily one of the most drinkable out there, straight up. For a non-coffee bakery, they sure know how to maximize the utility of their coffee brewer. TL;DR: Whether you eat your pies fresh out the store (FOS, I'm trademarking this term) or 24+ hours later from the fridge, Upper Crust provides some of the best baked goods in town. They have something for everyone, even if pie isn't your thing. With their cute hipster-esque shop and their primetime location in Downtown Overland Park, you better mark this place on your calendar for your next coffee & dessert outing. read more

I read about this place and was so ready to try as much as I can! This store was so cute!!! I absolutely adore it as soon as I laid eyes on it!! I had which was not pictured a lemon curd pie and let me say I died!!!! DIED!! It was so tart and sweet and delicious with every bite!! It was sad to have had to share it with my husband! Luckily I grabbed more than one slice lol The cookies are also delicious, I tried a bite so far off each one and would say the molasses cookie is my favorite.
