Hands down the best Focaccia bread I've ever had! The flavor profiles and combinations are perfect. Upper Crust offers a lot of new flavor variety over the different seasons as well. I love picking a focaccia up for special events! I do need to try the other items offered on the menu because it all looks SO good!

I was told by a nearby restaurant that the bread came from Vitales and it was that good that when I saw it, I decided to stop for a loaf. Staff were busy but not unfriendly and attentive to ensure they grabbed all that I had asked for from the dessert cases. I got a few cookies and I expected a heavy shortbread type cookie from my first but it was light and airy and delicious. I asked about a piece of cake and the staff described what was in it and stated that it was a good choice... I have yet to try it, but I love pistachios so I am looking forward to it :) Overall this was a pleasant experience and again what I have eaten of what we bought was absolutely delicious so I can't imagine that I won't go back. Ordered the porchetta with his house made Schiacciata bread. The sandwich itself reminded me of a modern version of porchetta and a bit different than other places I've had it as a sandwich. I will say that it was delicious and a very good size for the price of the sandwich. I did like his house made bread and his Italian salsa verde was on point too. No ambiance to this place at all. Was a tiny lil corner store turned into this lil deli and judging by the foot traffic while I was waiting, most are stopping in to grab a sandwich to go. Only a few small bar seats in the place and a couple of picnic tables outside. Definitely worth the visit and I could see this place really doing great if managed properly. I would go back for that porchetta!

3 words: chicken pot pie…read more It is pot pie season, and sugaree, while they are known for the sweet treats, deliver serious punch with their pot pies. The best part? It is loaded with chicken! Exactly what you need! Super savory, with a beautiful shortbread pie crust that stays crispy even as it absorbs the filling. The interior is quaint. It feels like grandma's house with aged hardwood, antiques, and delicately manicured crown molding. The workers were wonderful. Super friendly, greeting everyone, and just super nice. Definitely a great sweet treat, or take out spot in dog town!

In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we tried multiple times to contact the shop so we could set a delivery time on the wedding day for the cakes. It was very hard to get anyone from the shop to reply to our messages but we were finally able to speak to someone 5 days before our big day. On the day of the wedding, they delivered two cakes that looked really good on the outside. When we finally did the cake cutting, we discovered that they'd delivered two different cakes: one with chocolate filling and one with raspberry. Both cakes were dry. Considering what we paid for these cakes, the difficulty making contact with anyone from the shop, and the utterly unforgivable mistake of getting the order wrong (not to mention that the cakes were dry), we regret ordering from them for what was a really important event. They may shine most of the time but you'd never know it from the experience we had with them.

Last year, (I waited that long) I sent Simone, the owner, a message on instagram to let her know I was frustrated about having trouble getting any of the crème puffs she was constantly advertising. They were one of my favorite pastries she made. (Obv not super important I just thought she may not know & what could it hurt giving her some input from a customer, she may know know?) In this message I also told her how long I'd been supporting her & why and how much I loved her bakery. She is black, female, and truly an artist and master at her craft. With a good personality, That being said; she unleashed her fury on me, one of the angriest most condescending messages I had ever read. Not sure if I caught her on a bad day or she just doesn't handle feedback well. I was stunned and disappointed. Either way, I would never consider stepping foot into her bakery ever again. Her window has maybe 5 things to choose from. It's pretty sad, but there were 2 items I love love loved, and I drove out of my way and paid top dollar for those items. She's by far one of the most expensive bakeries in St. Louis, but I enjoyed supporting her I thought she was great. And she has a moving story. Sadly she doesn't know how to handle customers or feedback. I'm in customer service, 30 years, that's not how you do it, I still think she's a cool Person but not enough to support her. We have a ton of fabulous bakeries here I'd rather go to like Nathaniel Reid or Russell's or MO baking co....

I have been looking for a bread company for a while. I work in what is considered a "rural" area,…read moreso the only company I could find to deliver bread to us was Bimbo Bakery. It's not a company I am happy with, but I was stuck. I was so happy to see a Fazio's truck pass the store! I ran in and called and they deliver in my area! I originally only bought bread/buns for the sandwiches we make and kept Bimbo for the commercially sold bread and hot dog buns, but Bimbo flaked out again. I now order everything from Fazio's and I can't keep bread on my shelf! We blow right through the commercial bread I sell and I end up putting the sandwich bread out so the shelf isn't empty. The sourdough bread is one of the best I have ever had. The pumpernickel/rye swirl is phenomenal. The cranberry raisin bread works so well with chicken salad, and it's also great toasted and buttered. We have also started carrying and selling the toasted ravioli. Those are also great. We don't have a fryer, so we buy the ones made for the oven. The texture is a bit different than the fried ones, but it's not a bad difference. It's just an observation, not a complaint. The oven ones have a little bit more chewyness than the deep fried ones, so if you do order the oven ones you're prepared. The pricing on them is low, I can sell them for far cheaper than other places and still be making a profit. Everyone I have dealt with at the company has been very helpful, and they have just laughed at my bonehead mistakes I've made. You know, the typical ones you make when switching vendors. All I know is I'm very happy I looked up and saw their truck going past. The only thing I'd change is a twice a week delivery instead of the once a week I have now, but I also understand that being rural and not having huge orders (typically I spend $75-100 weekly) doesn't make it feasible to come more often.
