Awesome place. I have practiced yoga in Sunrise and Folsom but trust me Elk Grove yoga has that energy which makes you keep coming back. Hot yoga nourishes your mind and soul. It gives you energy to keep going when you feel like stopping. No matter how tired you are there is this energy in you that makes you go and let it all out. No matter whose teaching they all have the same yoga presence. Namaste! read more

Looking for a friendly hot yoga place? This place is the place to be. Everyone is super friendly and the people who come here are helpful and supportive. I only came here one time and plan on coming back in the future when i have more time on my hands. I thought going 1 time would help me stretch, however you have to go multiple consecutive days to get that full body stretch. One day i'll do the yoga challenge. read more

This is the only yoga studio I've been to so I cannot compare much. What I can do is comment on my experience while there. I've never heard of Bikram Yoga or even hot yoga. When my friend signed us up for a 10-day trial, I was pretty nervous. I hate being hot & sweaty, especially in a room full of other people. It was definitely not what I expected! - The staff is very inviting, supportive, knowledgeable, nice and helpful with everything. They know your name, are personable, encourage you and make you feel good about yourself. - The people who go there don't judge you. They all seem very nice, supportive and happy. This is a place for everyone of all levels and I've never felt out of place. - The class is hot, humid and smells a bit but you get used to it after being in the room for a 'hot' minute or two. It was hard to get myself to go the 3rd time, but after that I knew the results are worth every uncomfortable second in that room. I cannot explain how great I feel, how much more flexible I am and how much happier I seem to be. I'm currently in the process of moving, finding a cheaper place to live, work is weighing on me and my ex is causing me a lot of issues....so for me to feel this good, is unreal!!! I've since started going without my friend because I want to go. I want to improve. I want to feel the way I do afterwards. I say give it a shot. It's a love/hate relationship that you will only understand once you get past the first few classes :) read more

I will give this place 5 stars for their inferno hot pilates classes. I am hooked! Jaime, Eileen and D'lee are awesome instructors. The work out always gives me energy. They need surveillance camera outside though or maybe a security guard during early or late night classes to scare away thieves. read more

I use to do yoga when I was a kid, but I hadn't practice for years before coming to Bikram. Bikram yoga is definitely a different experience from my 5th grade P.E. yoga. The place shares a parking lot with other businesses, but I always parking in front of the place when I went. They sale yoga clothing and mats in reception area. There are separate dressing rooms for men and women and two bathrooms with showers. The dressing rooms are covered with curtains. They have cubbies to store your belongings. Hence, there isn't much privacy or security. I've never taken a shower at the studio, but I know they use good soaps and shampoos. The 105 degree room is carpeted. The room can fit 20 people. However, if you want to have a certain spot, go to class early. Sometimes a few flies come into the room, which can be distracting (really use "Mind over Matter"). The instructors try to get to know you and all of them are friendly. They support you through the positions. If you go here during different times, you'll end up having an instructor you like more though. Nevertheless, they're all great. The receptionists are nice too! I really miss Bikram, but after the $40 introductory month, it's really expensive. I definitely felt my body change and my posture approve the one month I did Bikram. Overall, Service- 8.5/10 Atmosphere- 8.5/10 read more

The only cons are often the classes are too crowded and particularly for the regulars of the "uchill" (class which is yin yoga) people are talking loudly before class starts. I did notice a sign on the door asking that when you enter the yoga room to be quiet... especially if you're coming to relax and remove noise out of your life. Other than this.. reccomend Rodney's sculpt class and any uchill. read more

Anything that helps better my body is worth 5+ stars. The staff here are great and really positive in how they teach the yoga positions. I can't give the heat 5 stars but I get it.. it's Bikram yoga LOL : ). I'm new to yoga (hot or cold) so I'm getting use to this stuff. I'm your typical run, bike and lift weight type of person until now. I'm started to learned a little more about my body which is good. It's all I got right.. read more

UPLIFT - Yoga Near Me - Elk Grove, California

Loving this place so much! Signed up for the 16$ for 16 days and sure enough became addicted! Never did I ever think inferno Pilates would challenge me so much! Such a good workout and so less damaging on my body in comparison to a CrossFit class! I've tried almost everyone 's class & found one today that I just loved her name was louellA I think ... she was awesome! So challenging, fast paced, good energy, and a fun routine! And she had the best music by far! Highly recommend trying this place it's beyond addicting! read more

Love this place! All the instructors are very polite, and the members I have encountered are also very friendly. Absolutely love the new studio good job on that decision! read more

I purchased the 2 week deal for $20.17 since I have always wanted to try hot pilates and hot yoga. My first class was with Lowella for hot pilates and I love how warm and genuinely inviting she is! I was very nervous for my first class but she kept that in mind and offered modifications if the beginners were not able to do certain postures. I left the class feeling exhilarated and have been continuing to come back. I purchased the 30-day pass and am considering purchasing a one year pass. I definitely recommend this studio if you want to get a good work out and sweat! read more

Great studio, friendly people, very clean and cute. Some things I would like to see added to their schedule would be Vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt classes. For now they have classic yoga and Pilates, hot of course. Pilates fills up fast. Looking forward to more classes, hopefully! Going to up this to 5 stars once they do. read more

I loved going to Yoga until recently...I showed up to class and Adrianne Jackson was teaching. I could not believe her attitude! She is rude, judgemental, embarasses people and pointed people out in class. Who does she think she is??! Her attitude borders verbal abuse. If you sign up for class be sure ADRIANNE JACKSON is not your instructor. I will never subject myself to her abuse again. read more

Best studio and staff around. This is more than a yoga studio. Carrie has developed a community. From the teachers to the students I always feel super supported. They offer a ton of different classes from express yoga to traditional to yin and Pilates. Place is super updated & always clean. Love this place!!! read more

Pleasantly and Happily surprised when I took a class yesterday morning while visiting my sister for a few days in Elk Grove! The last time I visited and took a class there was this awful carpet in the Yoga room that was very smelly and wet. It was enough for me not to return however with the 60 Day Challenge that I am currently on and almost half way completed Plus being about 2 miles away from my Sisters house- I wanted to continue my practice so decided to visit the school once again in hopes that perhaps the flooring would be updated and it was!!!! Yipeeeeeee!!! During the past 13 years (off and on with breaks in between) I have visited countless Bikram Yoga classes and this one is now one of my favorites! There are other classes being offered there now and doesn't seem to have too many Bikram Yoga classes offered however just enough which is fine! Georgine was the instructor in the lobby area when I arrived. She greeted me and asked me where I was visiting from. There was another very friendly beautiful lady who was behind the desk and assisted me with the purchase of my drop in fee transaction. Welcome and Friendly was the first impression I received from both of the ladies and the environment is very beautiful and clean. The school honors the Yogis progress and acknowledges the achievements as well seen visibly throughout the rooms and hallways. I really liked seeing that the management takes the time to do this. I will surely return again and again when visiting my Sister in Elk Grove! read more

I cannot emphasize enough my disappointment in this studio. Although the facility is clean and updated, the staff is the antithesis of the warm, welcoming, non-judgmental people that you should expect with bikram yoga. You still get an good workout, just do not expect to feel that happy, relaxed, zen experience. Both of the instructors I took were indistinguishable from the monotonous scripted airline stewardess, but bossy; barking out orders and making people feel rude for drinking their water or using towels for better gripping. I brought two girlfriends separately for the $40 start up deal, and both of them are going to seek refunds. I would too but I have gone twice already. More like kickboxing or bootcamp than yoga. If you are looking for a feel-good mind, body, and soul bikram experience, check out Yoga Loka on 48th/Folsom. The difference in your experience will be like night and day. read more

I love this place. It seems odd to pay high dollar prices for a instructed form of torture to some but I'm telling if you go, give yourself three sessions. If you don't want to return after than cool but I'll bet you'll love it. You feel so good when you leave the class, all sweaty and stretched out. The very best part is that this class is for all levels and sizes. There's no judgment and all of the instructors are friendly and easy with a inspirational word. The studio is clean and welcoming. I'm going for my birthday tomorrow and I can't wait! read more

Mmmm, I'm not a believer yet, but I have 9 more classes to convert. I am giving them 4/5 starts because of their service to their customers. It's impeccable! I purchased a groupon months and months ago. I kept saying I was going to come it, but life happened in the meantime and I never got around to it. Because of that, their staff kept having to change my start date for me since it expired 2 months after you started it. They did this maybe 5 times and never complained or made me feel guilty once! Fabulous. So I FINALLY got myself in there and enjoyed the class. I felt light headed toward the end, so I just laid down. The instructor was wonderful and was very motivating without pushing you past your limits. When class was over I felt great. I had never been so drenched in sweat in my life, which is saying a lot because I am a very active and fit girl. I went home thinking I would be back the next day and would quickly become addicted. Boy was I wrong. I woke up the next morning feeling like I had hit by a brick wall. I wasn't sore, I was just drained and couldn't shake a nauseous feeling...for almost a week. I felt like I had just had some really bad fish and a horrible case of the stomach flu. The thing was, I never actually got sick. I just felt that way. I guess I had more toxins in my body then I thought. My goal is to head back next week and try to stick it out. Only time will tell if hot yoga is for me.... read more

I am writing this review after visiting once, so please bear with me. I have been searching for the ultimate yoga class in Elk Grove and had really high hopes for this place. The staff was really great and the instructors covered everything so well for a first timer to Bikram... but the smell. Oh, the smell. The sweaty, awful smell. Believe me, I knew it was "Hot" yoga so I wasn't expecting it to smell like roses. I think it's the carpet that just gets saturated with sweat and funks up the place beyond repair. If you can get past the smell, it was a great class. Sadly, I could not get past the smell and am still searching. read more

Hello yelpers! This review is long over do, so forgive me if its a bit too long. It's hard to explain the self awareness you get when you start practicing bikram. I am 100% blessed to have started at this studio. I'd like to explain that through my work as a bartender at Paesanos, in Elk Grove, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the Studio, Carrie, who introduced me to Bikram. As we became friends she gifted me 1 full year of access to her studio, a gift of health and serenity. For that I'm so grateful, it was a beautiful opportunity. The classes; the first class I took was with Eileen, her tone of voice soothed me right away, she explained the postures and my body follows with ease, it feels like she's talking you through it one on one and there's no one else in the room, and when I went to pass out from the heat she calmed me down and helped me breathe it out, with out interrupting the class. She puts you in a trance in an awesome focused way. Carol brings such reinforcement, makes you notice improvements but expects them from you, pushing you to the best and reach deeper yummy poses. She keeps the room hot, but the more you practice, you start to appreciate the heat and want more of it. It pulls all of it together, once you feel the posture, the focus, the heat locks you in and melts whatever is bothering you away. Absolutely delicious feelings happen here. Not only that, but you get a great work out, you feel stronger, more flexible, your body will contour, your skin will glow, you will sleep like a king at night (bests sleep in the world is after yoga sleep)! I can't forget to mention Kasey and Jeff, all instructors are equally amazing, although it's a scripted work out they all have their own twists and I recommend trying all of them. But the one I'm most thankful for is Mrs. Carrie, who has the most beautiful and sincere heart. Not only does she keep her classes/studio exciting and uplifting, she has a warm heart to all others around her, brings fun into her yogi community by hosting 60 day challenges, mother daughter yoga weekends, and many days set to celebrate life, love, success, meditation, zen, ect. I am truly grateful to her and this studio. Bikram has changed my life. Friends all around hear me out!!! Must give BYEG a try! Please do this for your mind & body!! Namaste! read more

I'm new at yoga and have enjoyed my last year doing hot yoga at this studio. I also appreciate when an instructor (discreetly) shows me how to correct a move I'm doing. I have given the studio less than 5 stars because I have had two bad experiences during and after the class. Both times I had an instructor (two different ones) tell me in a loud voice, in the classroom and then the lobby, that I'm doing the moves wrong, which is too bad because it ruined the yoga experience for me and made me reluctant to return. Besides those two experiences, I have loved my time at this studio. read more

I purchased a one month unlimited pass for $40 being a new member. It ended up being the most expensive single class I have ever taken. I have always wanted to try "Hot Yoga" and have heard wonderful things about the classes particularly at Bikram yoga in elk grove. So I gave it a try. The instructor seemed short and almost annoyed. She didn't have that soft encouraging commentary that I am use to from instructors. At one point I realized I was under a heating vent and quietly moved my mat back so I didn't feel like I was melt (more then I already was) and the instructor got very snippy with me. In the middle of the class and in the microphone asked what I was doing? Before I could explain or even point at the vent she shook her head, sighed and made a comment under her breath. Then moved on with class. The facilities are very nice and it is a relaxed setting. I just didn't enjoy the experience. I was looking for more of the traditional yoga poses and difficulty that I didn't find at Bikram. I would have tried a couple more times if I was not so put off but the instructor. read more

My brother bought me a 2 week pass back in December.. It is now April & I am on my fourth class. Yes, I have been scared, intimidated, & worrisome about trying this hot yoga class. My only regret was not starting 4 months ago. I came by myself the first time & the woman at the desk was/has/is so friendly and welcoming I felt at ease as she asked another woman to give me a tour & had her set my yoga mat in the back of class while I got checked in. They provide both men & woman changing rooms & lockers (bring your own lock). I wasn't aware the first day & the oh so nice woman behind the desk offered to watch my bag for me! They also have two bathrooms with showers! Class- it was hot (obviously), but not unbearable. The room can smell, but everyone's sweating so what do you expect? Bikram Yoga is a great stress reliever & helps you focus your mind, body, & soul :) read more

I am relocating from Southern California to Sacramento area. I am used to a very welcoming studio and this studio does not emulate that. Although no one was rude, no one was friendly, inviting, or welcoming. So this warrants me to shop around and look for a studio that I connect with. I cannot justify paying the price for a studio that does not understand the concept of customer service or at least to the level I am used to. The search is on. read more

A friend of mine told me to try bikram yoga and so I did. I'm glad I did! I didn't think I would like it because I'm used to fast pace classes with reps (turbo kickboxing and bodypump at 24 hr.). This place is small but the staff and people there are friendly. They encourage you in anyway possible and make you feel good about yourself. I felt welcome instantly on my first day of class. I did the two week trial for $25 for new students. Sadly, my trial is over and it is too expensive for me to continue at this moment. But will definitely return when I'm ready again :) read more

BYEG is great!! They provide a warm and friendly environment for all people. This is my home away from home. I come when I am happy, sad, nervous, when I am stressed, excited, when I am anywhere in between. I know that I can come here, sweat for 90 minutes and leave feeling like a whole new person. I have practiced at other studios and I love that this is the real deal! The classes are hot, and humid, full of authentic Bikram dialog, and the students have the etiquette down. Not only are the classes great, but the sense of community here is overwhelming. We are a family, and always accepting new members. read more

Needless to say, I researched and debated hot yoga for about a year before deciding to take the plunge, and I can honestly say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made, especially with this studio. My favorite part about this place (beyond the convenient location, amazing instructors, cleanliness, and hugely effective workouts) is that they offer so many classes each day...usually about 8-10 classes ranging from 5:30am-8:15pm. Although I work full-time and attend school full-time, I can always find a class to attend. I am so thrilled to have found Bikram Yoga and cannot wait to see the long-term results of my continued practice, especially because of the awesome results I've already seen in muscle toning/strengthening and weight loss, stress relief, digestion, mental focus, heightened energy....I could go on and on. I'm only a few weeks in to this journey, but I can tell that I'll definitely be in it for the long run. read more

Great location and even better people! Overall great vibes throughout this studio! They offer multiple classes a day that vary in length and style. They offer yummy refreshers for purchase as well as some pretty darn cute clothing. If in Elk Grove I highly recommend dropping in and giving them a try! Namaste read more

Let's get this straight, I hate exercising, I hate exercising in public, I hate exercising in a class where people can watch me in public. But!...I love this place. It's brutal the first couple of classes and you feel like you're in India trying to touch your toes but if you stick with it, you honestly will feel really good. Yah, you're dripping so much sweat, it could water a plant but imagine all of the toxins coming off your body. The staff are SO SO welcoming. They don't make you feel stupid if you don't know what you're doing. And they take the time to teach you with what you're struggling with. Just try it...! read more

The place is small. I'm not impressed with the facility. Maybe because I went to a different yoga place in Orange County and the quality there is 100 times better than this place so I have much higher standard. (both places charge the same price though). On the bright side, their student discount is awesome (70 or 75 dollars a month)! Anyhow, i can't see myself working out in a place where there're only 1 shower room, a small locker room, and 2 yoga rooms. Money and quality don't match!!! read more

Been going here now for over a year and still loving it. Yes it's like exercising in hell but the results are well worth it. Love it! Yes, I think your experience will depend on the instructors you get but overall..a great place!

This is my favorite Bikram yoga studio thus far. The studio is bigger and it seems really clean. I like the dressing room area. They offer so many different times for the classes, it can fit anyone's schedule. I havent been back here for awhile because it's a bit far from where I live now, but I do miss this place. I like how they send you emails about any specials they have. They send you emails on your birthday, wishing you a happy birthday as well. This studio has it together. I hope to come back here sometime in the near future. read more

Bikram Yoga of Elk Grove is a great place to be at, especially after a long draining day. Sure it sounds a little odd to enjoy 90 minutes of yoga in 104 degree heat after a long day of studying or being at work. But the satisfying feeling after a 90 minute detox is worth the sacrifice of dragging yourself to a bikram yoga class. Another plus is the friendly staff who make sure they know you by name by the end of your very first class =) From the outside, it almost looks a bit run down. But once you step inside, it's a whole other atmosphere. Definitely a hole in the wall. The studio is currently being remodeled as well. Looking forward to seeing the finished product =) read more

Matt and Justine are great instructors! The 90 min classes kick my butt and are great.

Been going for years, now they have more option for schedule.. Best service, everybody is friendly and accommodating. If your a beginner, don't worry they will teach you during class and you will sink right in feeling like a pro! read more

The studio atmosphere is very relaxing and the new mats they put in are great! But I'm not giving this place more stars because of the instructors. Most instructors talk too fast and do not give great instruction. There are only a select few that actually walk around and help correct students on how to do the poses correctly, which in my opinion is the most important thing. Also, like some of the reviewers I don't think the room is hot enough some days read more
