There was more than just me who was new but I was the only one she came up to and said you ever used weights above your head? I wanted to take this personal but I kept on thinking she is just trying to be kind. Then she told me are you sure you want 3lb pound weights you can do 2lb? Then she came up to me and said you not doing this smoothly. I was the only person over 200 pounds in the room and the only person she was correcting. Then she came over again and said you're working pretty hard going fast I think you are going to be too sore tomorrow. That was it for me I left 20 minutes into the class. I would understand if I was breathing heavy or struggling but I hadn't even broken a sweat. I am disappointed in this instructor. I am also disappointed in a business who would not teach proper phone etiquette as well. The instructor answered her phone two minutes before the class and was talking on a personal call. I would come back and give a different instructor a try but I am honestly not happy that an overweight person was targeted. I work out at another Pilates studio in town ( sweat fitness) and they have never made me feel uncomfortable. I thought about trying reform Pilates because I heard good things but this experience was rough! Shout out the the front desk girl who told me to write a review and gave me socks because I didn't have grip socks. I am sad it's not a good review but when the instructor only comes to you in 20 minutes of the class and is targeting me I had to be honest. The girl next to me could not even get the form correct but she was thin so nothing was said to her. Club Pilates Elk Grove do better!

After consistently taking their yoga, Pilates, weights, stretching, and boxing classes, I'm now 170-180 lbs and feel stronger, more energized, and nearly pain-free. I burn around 800-900 calories in the Pilates/weights classes and use yoga and stretch classes to recover, which is an amazing balance for building muscle, improving stamina, and increasing flexibility. The infrared heat helps me warm up safely and avoid injuries. The staff here is incredibly friendly, supportive, and committed to helping you become your best self. They'll push you, encourage you, and celebrate every step of your journey. Highly recommend joining if you're ready for real results.

They motivate without pressure and always remind you to slow down, breathe, and surrender to the mat. In a joking way, I tell people that all of them have become my therapists, because somehow they always share the exact words I need at the right time. Over time, I've come to really see and hear the instructors and the heart they put into every class. I appreciate them more than they probably realize. Walking in feels less like going to a workout and more like showing up to see family. What stands out most to me is the awareness of mental health and emotional wellbeing. The way they combine movement, breath, and mindfulness makes each class feel like much more than just a workout. It truly feels like a space to heal. On a personal note, this studio has become an important part of my sobriety journey. The grounding, the sweat, the stillness, and the encouragement have helped me process, reset, and keep choosing healthier paths. I leave feeling clearer, calmer, and supported. If you're looking for a studio that challenges you physically while supporting you as a whole person, this is the place. I'm so grateful I found it. Thank you Carrie, Rodney, Mary, Amy, Lowella, Asnah, Vicky, Vanessa, Ron, Hallie, Lilian, Laura, Lydda, and the rest of the amazing Uplift team. From the bottom of my heart to yours, namaste.

I originally started because I knew I needed to get stronger, but what kept me coming back is how good the workouts actually are. The instructors are knowledgeable without being intimidating, and they're really good at giving adjustments or options depending on what your body needs that day (which I appreciate more than ever now). A huge personal win for me was how much this studio helped me build strength leading up to my total knee replacement. That's not something I say lightly -- the focus on controlled movement, stability, and proper form made a real difference in how prepared I felt physically. The studio is always clean, organized, and welcoming, and the overall vibe is positive without feeling like over-the-top fitness culture. It feels approachable, which matters. Also -- the music is always on point, which somehow makes planks feel slightly less offensive. Another fun fact: after one trial class, my husband ended up joining too... which honestly says a lot. Classes are challenging in the best way -- you'll definitely find muscles you forgot you had -- but you also leave feeling stronger instead of wrecked. If you're looking for something that will actually improve your strength, balance, and mobility (not just make you sweat for an hour), this place is absolutely worth trying. I'm really glad I joined when they opened and plan to keep it as part of my routine. Final verdict: absolutely worth it.

When I first started I kept teetering between…read more"should I keep going to Pilates or not?" took me 4 months to decide...I wasn't sure if Pilates was for me since I always thought that Pilates had a certain bougie image to hold up to, and I'm the type of girl that just wants to show up wearing old worn-out gym clothes. Well, I'm still here so that says something! The good news is that this place is diverse! People of all age and sizes. Wear whatever is comfortable. All the Pilate goers are always courteous with one another. Im not much of a chit chat person, but I like being in positive environments. No negativity in here. If you ever meet the owner+Kelly who helps manage the place, you can tell how much intention and care they put into the place. I tried almost all the instructors. They're all really nice. Tell them if you're new before the class so they can guide you. They all have their different styles/flare (ex: one instructor will play hip hop music (love it), while another Taylor swift, and another Lady Gaga). My favorites for intense killer workouts are with Diana, Julia, MeliKa and Amy. For Classics, Kelly and Devon are wonderful. If you're brand new to Pilates, definitely get their brochure to read the details. Definitely start with Classic class (Pilates with stretches), and then when you start learning how to use the reformer machine and get used to the moves, try the Reformers class (Pilates with no stretches/breaks). Then when you get much much more stronger, try the Mixed Equipment class (Pilates on steroids since it incorporate weights, etc) When it's your first time going in to class, look for a machine where there's a long bar/stick on top of it. Find a machine you want to use and put the bar/stick on the floor to claim it (If there's no long bar on top of the machine, then it means it's claimed already). Ive never tried the reformer machine before when I started Pilates, but if you're like me & want to prepare before the first class, I recommend watching on Youtube: -Pilates Reformers Introduction: Allegro 2 Reformer with Mat & Tower by Balanced Body Or - How to use the balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformer Springs (Pilates Spring Resistance Guide) by Mindful Axis You don't have to know everything of how the reformer machine work! It's nice to just get an idea. If you don't know how to do something, do what I do and follow your neighbor or raise your hand for guidance from the instructor. Some classes do get "full". But that doesn't deter me since people do cancel classes, and 90% of the time I am able to get into the class I want from being waitlisted. My experience for weekdays. Can't vouch for weekends tho (don't workout on weekends) It's been a year already and I'm surprised I'm not bored yet. Pilates has improved my posture, help me become so much more toned, have better mind-body awareness, and improved my balance + strength. Not much when it came to my body fat, but I really like to eat and muscle weighs more than fat? Sooo...Anywho, who doesn't love a lifted booty?

You have to turn on the sauna for maybe 5-10 minutes so it can warm up to your desired temperature. They recommend the sauna be 120F for best results. There are different types of workouts, and from what I remember there was cycing, glutes, and iso--just to name a few. Each sauna room seems to accommodate up to 3 people. You can reserve a class ahead of time and complete your workout. The more workouts you complete and the more calories you burn, you earn points to redeem towards items. The iso workout was like 30-45 minutes long. It was actually very challenging. For a workout in which I usually would be able to complete outside of a sauna, inside of the sauna, it was WAY harder, and I came out of the workout DRENCHED in sweat. Outside of the rooms, there are cubbies where you can place your items in. They have cameras on the inside of the building so that can help with the safety of your items in the cubbies. They do offer little life alert lanyards that you can bring into your workout in case you're alone and worry about your safety--whether from the workout or your personal safety. I highly recommend bringing your water bottle and a towel (they do provide towels but there may be a charge). You WILL get easily dehydrated because you are sweating so much. However, the sweating made me feel very relaxed at the end of the workout. I would love to do their workouts again in the future. Some criticisms I saw when I read about the Hotworx workouts in figuring out if I should join or not, is that the workout videos don't change very often and that people wished the instructors provided alternate movements for movements that may be more difficult for people. Just some things I've noticed in figuring out if I should commit to classes. The staff were very friendly in explaining how the facility runs. Overall, I would recommend Hotworx based off my experiences!

Want to get going but the gym is too expensive or too intimidating or monotonous? Want to find a group to inspire you and make you feel comfortable at the same time? So did I! Mom's In Motion with Wendy Hoag is awesome!!!! I also do not care too much for weight training. Personally I have chronic inflammatory arthritis issues that pulling on weight machines (or in my case, them pulling on me) caused more pain than good. So I was talking to Wendy, and she said I should try Core. I walked into her class with similar reservation as I would the gym, being early on into my metamorphosis I am still so self-conscious to be honest. When I walked out, I felt in a word... AMAZING. Because you know what? The women were awesome, and all in their own stages of their journey. There were women of every fitness level in that class, and we all sweated together, laughed together, and were inspired together. There was no judgment by any women there, except my prejudiced thinking that they would judge me. I was so wrong. Since that first class about a month ago, I can honestly say, I am addicted. Wendy makes it easy enough for beginners and challenging enough for those who are well into their journey. Everyone benefits. I had lost about 17 pounds prior to joining Core, and have lost weight since then, but even more importantly, I have lost inches! It wasn't until after I added Core to my fitness routine that people started noticing. I have learned from my very wise uncle that muscle may weigh more than fat, but it takes up a lot less real estate! It also helps you burn more calories through out your day. So don't neglect strength training, even though your cardio is extremely important to fitness, so is strength! Looking to train to get your run on? Moms In Motion has that trick up it's sleeve too! I completed my first 5K with Moms in Motion. I asked my hubby to join me because I was so scared I would hit the finish line to a rolled up Finish Line banner and the sound of crickets, but guess what? Not only did I not finish last (woo hoo!) but when I crossed the finish line all the other MIM members who finished before me were waiting to cheer me across that line! No woman left behind! This is why I truly love this group. And I truly attribute a lot of my success to varying my workouts with MIM.

As of today, the number still has not been updated on your website or Yelp. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I hope this feedback helps improve communication moving forward. ------------------------------------------ I tried calling Pilax Pilates multiple times regarding an issue with a 10 class Groupon package. Every call went straight to voicemail and I was unable to reach anyone directly. Since I couldn't get through by phone, I reached out on IG. The responses were not helpful. The classes never appeared in my Mindbody account. I mentioned that it wasn't showing in my account and I even tried logging in/out. This should've confirmed that I have an account with them already, but I kept receiving repetitive troubleshooting questions instead of a clear resolution. In addition, the classes are consistently very packed. On multiple occasions, the spacing was so tight that I was physically touching other people's toes, and my toes were being touched too. It felt overcrowded and uncomfortable. While the business did respond to messages, the overall experience felt disorganized and frustrating, especially after already paying for the package. I've had a similar issue in the past and it was also complicated to get the issue resolved. Overall, the customer service has not been helpful, which makes it hard to fully enjoy this studio.
