I wish Empower were offered more in Elk Grove, but otherwise, the schedule is varied and convenient.

After the heated work out they give you a nice cold towel. I usually take early morning classes 7:30 am or in the evening. The bathrooms are very nice with a changing area, bathroom, and mirror. There are lots of lockers and shelves to put your stuff. I like how kind and knowledgeable all the instructors are. They are pretty nice about people showing up a little late too. But it's good to come early! The activity room changes different colors and has a good speaker for music. I have taken classes with Julienne, Jamie, and Janet and they are all wonderful.

She told me about their classes, the specials they have and what would work for me being a brand new yoga participant. At first, I was very nervous because I I haven't really been out of the house for a couple of years. But I took an oath, to get out and get some exercise and fresh air. Switch Fitness has changed my routine from staying home, to getting out and exercising. I also have osteoporosis and this helps 100%. Thank you everyone at Switch Fitness, you have a wonderful staff. My instructor, Sara, was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly welcoming and made sure I never felt out of place as a first-timer. Her energy, guidance, and encouragement truly made the experience special. The studio itself was spotless, so clean and thoughtfully maintained. The essential oil scents throughout the space were absolutely fabulous and added such a calming, elevated touch to the entire experience. The cleansing and overall atmosphere were just beautiful. I'm also so proud of Taylor for the incredible studio she has continued to build, it truly shows in every detail!!! 10/10, I will definitely be coming back. Whether you're brand new like me or an experienced yogi, I would highly recommend Shine Yoga Studios to anyone looking for an amazing, welcoming, and uplifting experience.

I started with Express Feel Good Flow with Tina, and her compassionate words and authenticity still bring me comfort. Her oils... honestly, I can smell them from the parking lot, and my body hums with both excitement and calm. I get so caught up in being a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, part-time employee, and part-time entrepreneur that I can lose myself in constantly giving to all these roles. But when I come to Shine, it's about me. I do this for me. The kind smiles and heartfelt greetings are always so welcoming. Sarah's optimism and genuinely charming personality stand out. Her Mat Pilates class challenges me both physically and mentally--her voice has this power that pushes me to just try, and somehow, I always surprise myself. Every instructor truly means it when they say to be proud of showing up for yourself. Those words carry weight and remind me that my mind and body deserve care, too--so I always leave Shine feeling more grounded.

I decided to visit Park West Pilates, a private studio owned and taught by master instructor Nancy Tenoglio --and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I arrived, Nancy created a welcoming and professional environment. Even though it was my first class with her, she took the time to learn about my background and experience, offering personalized guidance and thoughtful adjustments throughout the session. Every movement was explained with precision and purpose, and Nancy had an incredible eye for detail--gently refining my form to help me move more efficiently and with better alignment. Her class was challenging but balanced. I loved it! I left feeling taller, stronger, and more connected to my body. I'm really grateful I took the opportunity to step outside my usual routine and look forward to scheduling another session with Nancy the next time I am in her neck of the woods.

The vibes are also different but I had a good time with my coworkers. The teacher went a little fast with her instructions and when asked to grab equipment, we grabbed a ball and loop but only ended up using a loop. Pro's: -Clean, modern facility -friendly, encouraging instructors that call you by name and privately fix your form if it needs correction -They have evening and weekend classes for those that work during the weekdays Cons (and this is a major con): The price. No other Yelpers mention how much it costs. But, it is very expensive. Monthly unlimited access is $179 (last month was $143), once a week class is $79, a single class is $30 (their rival, The Dailey Method only charges $25). I get unlimited access at my local gym (pool, weight room, cardio room, and all group fitness classes) at only $49 per month. Also, the baldheaded gentleman by the name of Mel. I think he is the manager or owner of this studio is really pushy and tries to get new members to start paying the $143 monthly fee (now $179) right after the first free class. It made me feel really taken aback, shocked, and uncomfortable. I thought I would other potential new members who want to take the first free class or let Kristen, the owner of this studio know, so that she can talk to Mel and ask him to tone down his pushyness because it could turn away or turn off potential new clients. I know it did for me. Luckily, my local YMCA did tell me they are going to start offering evening Barre Classes so I don't have to spend absurd amounts of money on a membership here.

I originally started because I knew I needed to get stronger, but what kept me coming back is how good the workouts actually are. The instructors are knowledgeable without being intimidating, and they're really good at giving adjustments or options depending on what your body needs that day (which I appreciate more than ever now). A huge personal win for me was how much this studio helped me build strength leading up to my total knee replacement. That's not something I say lightly -- the focus on controlled movement, stability, and proper form made a real difference in how prepared I felt physically. The studio is always clean, organized, and welcoming, and the overall vibe is positive without feeling like over-the-top fitness culture. It feels approachable, which matters. Also -- the music is always on point, which somehow makes planks feel slightly less offensive. Another fun fact: after one trial class, my husband ended up joining too... which honestly says a lot. Classes are challenging in the best way -- you'll definitely find muscles you forgot you had -- but you also leave feeling stronger instead of wrecked. If you're looking for something that will actually improve your strength, balance, and mobility (not just make you sweat for an hour), this place is absolutely worth trying. I'm really glad I joined when they opened and plan to keep it as part of my routine. Final verdict: absolutely worth it.
