A mix of yin and other less dynamic styles of yoga, and finishing with some meditation activities, I left feeling about five years younger! The interior is very chic and set-up much like a day spa, including free hairbands, towels for use and coconut water and tea on arrival. They even have lockers with phone chargers in them, hello 2016! Wish I lived in Melbourne so I could attend this studio's classes regularly.

There are 2 hot yoga studios (studio 2 located outside the main location) as well as hot pilates coming this week (again will be a seperate studio). The teachers are welcoming and always provide alternatives to poses, useful if you just can't get that bind right or you want to take your practice to the next level. Being an hour means you get a decent cardio workout, without it become too overwhelming or boring (like I found with Bikram). Embrace the heat.

The studio is just like in the pictures, clean, modern and fresh. However I found for my first two times to the studio, that the staff weren't very helpful in explaining the studio. Having to line up several times to ask questions, as they didn't tell me the info straight off. Studio 2 is also down the road, 2 doors down, supposedly you can't miss - which I did. While I loved the studio and the class, I felt the staff weren't the most helpful/friendly so I will continue the hunt for another hot yoga studio.

There are actually two areas to practice in this studio, one main downstairs space and a smaller upstairs studio. I have attended a few times here and teachers are great and they offer a good beginner's 6 weeks unlimited attendance course as well. Couple of cool things, they have clean toilet/shower facilities and you can leave your mat at the studio on the wall as long as it is clearly rolled/tied up and labeled. Be mindful it gets packed really easily so try to remember to book a spot as you might not be able to attend if you don't reserve!

Pre-Bikram nerves were raging, yet I was also excited for the challenge. I entered with little knowledge of the activity, other than that I was about to torture myself with ridiculous poses in a 40 degree Celsius room for 90 minutes. It's actually a wonder why anyone would be interested in such a thing. But let me assure you, even after one class I think it will be my new addiction. The facilities offered at the Prahran location were fantastic; clean rooms and super friendly staff keen to make your Bikram experience as comfortable as possible. I will warn you however, be prepared for the overwhelming smell of sweat that hits you in the face like a tonne of bricks the first second you walk in. Give it 5 or 10 minutes though and the smell somehow becomes normal...well, bearable at least. Interestingly, the turn-out of males in this class was overwhelming. I wondered if they actually knew what they were in for or if they had been dragged in by their 'other halves'. I powered through the class - for the first 60 minutes - yet completely struggled with the last half hour. By the time 8.15pm rolled around I was drenched and exhausted. Don't forget your yoga mat and especially not your water bottle. Another must is a towel. Trust me you will be wiping sweat out of places you didn't even know could sweat. Bonus* first-timers pay $19 for a 10 day trial. Yoga mats available to hire for $1.

The staff were super-friendly and the facility is charming and welcoming. I love the astro turf in the lobby area. Shower were great. They also had locking lockers, which we don't see much at yoga studios in the US. The studio itself is very wide but narrow front-to-back. Seemed like a hard place to get the temperature and humidity right, but both were perfect. Overall, a great location, great facility, and a friendly, welcoming staff. The next time I'm in the Melbourne area, I'll be back!

I have since ditched my gym in favour of coming here, even though I am a bit of a newbie yogi and I'm not exactly skinny so I find it difficult to hold poses for too long, or get quite deep enough into some poses. The teachers here are lovely - they are friendly, not afraid to adjust you, and give ample modifications for difficult poses. The studio is really nice with lovely floorboards and big windows which overlook the bay - from a second floor perspective this is a great sight. Parking is free in a small lot about 100 metres down the street (street parking is only 1 hour and a little difficult to come by). Mat 'hire' is free if you don't have your own. Booking online is a breeze. Some enjoyable extras include the green tea on offer to relax with or chat to other clients after class, but most of all I can't wait for my amazing smelling little lavender eye pillow to be paced over my eyes during savasana - sometimes when there are some tricky poses during class I set my mind on the lavender eye pillow I'll soon get to enjoy during savasana and it helps pull me through! Classes are a bit on the expensive side but it is such a pleasant space to practise with helpful and friendly teachers (and those lavender eye pillows) so it makes it all worth it.

I used Classpass to try it out and enjoy all the classes I have participated in. The studio itself is homey and not fancy but it gets the job done. The toilets are shared with other offices so I would suggest you arrive in your yoga gear and bring your mat otherwise you need to rent one. The studio provides blocks, straps and bolsters but water is not always available to make sure you bring a bottle! The instructors are friendly and always happy to provide options just keep in mind the classes can be very full so make sure you tell them about any injuries or if you need another option for your level. A few things I don't like so much: the studio can get really hot in the summer, there is a piano school next door so you often hear children having their lessons as the walls are quite thing, sometimes it gets a bit squishy as they are getting more popular. So far, my favorite classes are the sound healing + meditation and also their basics class.

Trewhealth offers a range of services: * Corporate Consulting * Personal Training Melbourne * Boot Camps * Trew Rehabilitation * Running Groups Melbourne * Team Building Already being members, we chose to go through the Trewhealth trainers at the MSAC gym. And wow, it's hard work. I've discovered that personal training is most definitely not for the faint of heart. Usually my gym sessions would last no longer than thirty minutes. This would include a leisurely fifteen minutes on the bike and another fifteen attempting to work the machines. With a trainer my lackluster routine this has been transformed into an hours hardcore exercise. There is absolutely no way you can get away with slacking off, no sneaky under-performing. They will catch you. The Trewhealth trainers are seriously good at thier job. I've found myself in pain for days after my twice weekly sessions. But god I feel good. If you can handle the pain, I really recommended it.

From the burning incense out the front door, to walking inside the beautiful studio, I could tell this was going to be a grounding and lovely experience. The instructor Eva was warm and welcoming, she gave me a quick orientation when she checked me into the class. I brought my own mat, but they also have mats for hire for $2 (first class hire for free). After collecting a flat cushion, a log cushion and a block, I got settled in before the class started. Eva has lovely grounding energy, spoke enthusiastically and gave clear instructions. She moved around the room throughout the class to check on movements, helped to make corrections and assisted in realigning postures to help students get a deeper stretch in poses. The instructions were matter of fact, and Eva spoke about the physiological response of stress on the body - personally I found that I take on that better than chatter about the moon aligning with planets that drains your energy.. At the end of the 75 minutes, I definitely felt relaxed yet energised, ready to tackle the day ahead. Will definitely be coming back regularly to get unravel my mind and body!!
