I have been using Up Yer Flue for a few years, Josh is amazing! He was actually early cleaned my chimney and put up a barrier so my kitty couldn't climb inside my chimney flue. He did a wonderful job. Josh also explains things to me and makes recommendations for my wood stove which I greatly appreciate him doing. For the work he did the price was very fair. I highly recommend Up Yer Flue Chimney service. Support small businesses. read more

Up Yer Flue Chimney Sweeps - My nice clean chimney and wood stove thanks to Up Yer Flue Chimney service! - Chimney Sweeps Near Me - Salem, Massachusetts

Josh was easy to talk to and he was relaxed as he inspected our chimney flu. I was surprised when he said that our chimney flu did not need cleaning. I am impressed with his honesty. He gave us some good pointers on the use of our fireplace. Highly recommend him for all your chimney and flu cleaning needs. Thanks Josh! read more

Josh is fantastic. We recently moved into a 1900s home and asked for an inspection ahead of the holidays. Josh inspected the chimney, recommended a liner if we were planning to use it all the time, but caveated for our purposes (few fires a year) it likely wasn't a worthy expense. Beyond that he took time to run through general chimney maintenance tips, guidance around using window airflow to prevent smoke coming in the house, and other suggestions where to cheaply get necessary hardware. Josh is a punctual, professional and funny guy and would absolutely recommend him to anyone. A++ read more

Josh came over to give me an estimate, but found the project to be bigger than what he could take on. Nevertheless, he offered lots of professional advice and tips. He is clearly knowledgeable about chimneys, and he is also really friendly and passionate about his work. I would definitely recommend reaching out to him if you have any chimney-related projects. read more

I found the best chimney cleaner and just had to share. He arrived on time, did a great job, and charged me less than quoted because "it wasn't that dirty". How often does that happen? Never! He was personable and professional and an all around great guy! I would give him 6 stars if could. read more

Josh was great. We asked him to come by before we installed solar panels to make sure the chimney was in good shape before the roof was covered up. First, he made a point to get over to our house asap because he knew we were close to scheduling our installation. He explained what he saw in the flue and on the roof, talked about ways to maintain the health of the fireplace, spent half an hour explaining what type of firewood we should purchase in the future and why, charged less than his going rate -- he even gave us a great tip about making some extra money selling fireplace potash! We were so impressed with everything about Josh, and would definitely recommend him. He will be our go-to for our fireplace going forward. read more

My house was built in 1682 with 3 fireplaces and a bee hive oven. I haven't had them cleaned since I moved in here 20 years ago and use all three of them most of the winter. Josh come over and inspected all of them and told me that only one needed to be cleaned. He is honest, and did a through job. Instead of telling me that all three needed a cleaning to boost his service call expenses. How often do you find someone so up front? I highly recommend "Up Yer Flue Chimney Sweeps" to anyone wanting their chimney cleaned. My dog Buster was as happy to see him as I was. He is a dog person, kind, smart and considerate. What more can I say but put your mind to rest knowing that this professional more than met my expectations. He left my house spotless. read more

I called about 4 other chimney sweep companies who were overbooked and couldn't come to my home until well into the winter. Enter Josh!! He was prompt, precise, courteous and QUICK! He even gave a discounted price because it didn't need that much cleaning! Given these challenging times, it's nice to work with a business that is not out to take advantage!! Call Josh, you will not be disappointed! read more

Scheduled an inspection to have a new liner installed for the fireplace and to have the chimney waterproofed. He came by and left a written estimate recommending additional work on the furnace flue and made a note that the furnace flue has a stainless steel liner. Correct. I had that installed 4 or 5 years ago after finding out that the clay flues - one for the furnace and another for the fireplace - had long since collapsed, allowing carbon monoxide to escape the furnace flue and enter the fireplace flue and the house ( the contractors who renovated the house had disabled the carbon monoxide detectors but the problem was found before anyone was poisoned). However, I didn't have a new liner installed for the fireplace and that side of the chimney leaks water into the basement. That's what I wanted an estimate for. read more

I had called Josh re a flue installation. He said he didn't do this type of work but took the time to give me advice, (more than 10 minutes on the phone) and even offered if I had any trouble to call him back. Very personable and friendly. When it comes time to clean the flue, who do you think I will call? read more

Josh was very easy to get a hold of and responds quickly. He is very professional and personable. We were very impressed as he seemed extremely competent and did not try to push services we didn't need. Like a previous reviewer said, Josh is honest, dependable, and experienced. read more

I had Up Yer Flue come out to inspect and clean the chimney in our new house. Josh was incredibly professional and knowledgeable about everything. He covered the living room in drop cloths, cleaned out the fireplace, inspected the chimney from the inside and out, and left it in good working order without a speck of ash left in the house. I'm going to have him come back to replace the cap on our chimney, and will definitely call him again next year at this time. Highly recommended for anyone on the north shore! read more

Exceptional service! My husband and I bought our home about 3 years ago and this is the first home we have owned with a fireplace. Josh is extremely knowledgeable, honest and answered all of our questions about how to safely use our fireplace during our appointment. We now have total piece of mind going forward which is important when you have a 6 year old! We would highly recommend him to anyone of our friends or family members. read more

Fast, reliable and the price was very fair. Thanks for making my Chimney safe.

My wife and I moved to Marblehead in December and one of the first items we wanted to accomplish was getting our fire place swept. Josh did a great job. He was professional, courteous and came out on New Years Day which speaks to his work ethic. He was also informative and taught us a lot about lighting a proper fire. I would highly recommend Up Yer Flue Chimney Sweeps. read more

I had Josh do an inspection and a cleaning on my 1981-built house before selling, and he did a fantastic job from start to finish. I'm not sure when it was last cleaned but it had been at least 10 years, and it looked brand new when he was done. He didn't overcharge me for services I didn't need, and was honest and up front about everything. Happy to give 5 stars to an honest, fast, hard working and professional team that did a really great job with my home. read more

Josh and his team are fantastic! Our chimney needed repointing- and as Josh suggested- we waited until the summer to do it. They did a great job from start to finish. It was crazy hot- but they kept their cool- and powered through to do a super job. My chimney looks brand new. Highly recommend them! A+++ all the way around. Fair and honest pricing- and great work. read more

Although his work was adequate, he left a business card, a condom (YES...condom!) with a sticker attached stating "up yer flu" on it with my wife while I was away at work. NOT the type of calling card one should expect! Without delving into sexual innuendo and harassment we hired him to clean the chimney - he did that - and would have received 4/5 stars however this juvenile action negates ANY further business. read more

I have used Josh for years. We burn 4+ cords of wood each season and I need to know my chimney is clean and in working order. He is the very best at a reasonable price. He tells you exactly what he is doing and why he is doing it, cleans up after he is done sweeping the chimney. I would NEVER use anyone but Josh ! read more

First time using Up Yer Flue and will totally use them again next year. Showed up on time, worked clean and courteous, showed me video of a potential issue in my chimney that enhanced my understanding, and taught me a few things about how to avoid the problem in the future. Left me with several useful recommendations, from cord wood sellers to tools that can improve my woodstove experience. Nice to see someone who loves what they do. read more

Josh came out and rebuilt our chimney today and did a great job. He was right on with the quote and the chimney looks great. He even called in the morning and offered to pick me up a bagel and coffee on the way over! He worked quick and was thorough. He has a great personality to go along with his work ethic. He came highly recommended and I would highly recommend him read more
