Finally made it in! Made from locally sourced honey, grains, and fruits to create somewhat of a farm-to-table spirits. Up North Distillery is one of six distilleries nationwide that manufactures spirits using 100% honey, turning it first into Mead, and then distilling it into spirits. Indoor seating is limited, but the outdoors offers many places to sit with gas fire pits. Cocktails and flights available. Really friendly service. Only had some cocktails, but look forward to coming back for a tasting again. read more

I love these little hidden gems. Such a cozy place to have some serious upscale cocktails! These guys also run, or own or supply, not 100% sure, The Bees Knees in Hayden, another of our favorites when we're feeling bougee! Great place to unwind. Up North is still a great place to grab a great drink, or you can even choose from some local beers on tap as well as other drinks in cans or bottles. There is something for everyone. They do have excellent food trucks on certain nights or you can have something delivered. Have never been disappointed! Plus, they are dog friendly for your well behaved pup. read more

When I drive somewhere, especially in today's market i.e. gas.. I expect that what I have looked up is the correct hours of operation. When I arrived even the sign said open till 10pm. I was quite disappointed when the doors were locked and the ladies behind the counter seemed to be closing out and not once acknowledged they had someone in their parking lot. Given, we live in a shitty world today and it's hard to trust anyone these days, I d still expect that the business at least change the hours of operation on their website as well as their sign at the door. read more

We had so much fun here and were so glad we drove out from Coeur d'Alene to check it out! It was definitely one of our favorite experiences during our stay in the area. Our bartender was amazing - knowledgeable about all things alcohol and fun to chat with. That's exactly what we hope to find when we walk into a distillery and sit at the bar! We thought he might have been part owner based on his knowledge and comfort level, but he said he had only been there for maybe 4 months! What a find for Up North Distillery! When we couldn't find a bourbon distillery, we decided to check out this place which specializes in honey spirits. We weren't too sure what to expect and I'd have to say we were pleasantly surprised. We tasted a couple of their spirits and liked the fact that they weren't sweet like we had guessed they would be. I think they are definitely a place people should check out and definitely don't prejudge if you've never had their spirits before. If you're unsure of what to order, hubby and I would certainly recommend the old fashioned made with their spirits instead of bourbon. read more

The spirits here are the real deal! I am a particular fan of the aged honey spirits, but the apple brandy is nothing to sneeze at! They distill their own liquor (and whiskey is coming soon!!), but they also have a choice of other liquors, beers, and wine. The atmosphere is friendly and laid back. You can even have a snack! They have a hot dog food truck, and I was delighted to see it offers a veggie option! Really, you can't go wrong supporting this friendly, talented local business!! read more

I'd like to start by first noting that we have been to this place SEVERAL times and almost every time we have had the male bartender with a blonde beard (the owner). Not only were our drinks terrible (couldn't taste the whiskey in the old fashion..... at a DISTILLERY), but the service was absolutely terrible each time. Most recently we tried to close our tab and the male bar tender was too lazy to check us out. Instead of grabbing the iPad and clicking on our table (after I walked up to the bar to close out) he had us wait for the waitress outside to finally come in and close us out..... he was as honestly too busy with his handful of regulars to close out our tab. In fact, he was so lazy that she walked up to the bar and grabbed the iPad to do that. read more

Husband and wife distillery. New category of spirits made from honey, unaged and aged, Apple Brandy, and a Big Kid cider. Easy to find. No tour. The still was behind glass and viewed from a bar setting inside the distillery. The bar offers flights of many products, many of which are not their products. Confused why they would have national brands offered when you are there for their craft brands. The also have shirts, sweatshirts and some other stuff available for sale. The bartender was somewhat knowledgeable and tried to find answers to questions. No industry discount. Enjoyed stopping by and tasting the products. Products only offered in Idaho. read more

OUTSTANDING MICRO-DISTILLERY! Take a few minutes to venture off into the industrial area of Post Falls to see what this tiny joint has to offer. We stopped in one fine afternoon to see a couple locals sitting at the cozy bar and a small TV for entertainment along with a viewing area for the distillery itself. The offerings made in house were delightful, I suggest trying to sampler variety off the menu which gives you samples off a few different options--I would stick with the honey spirits made in house as they were the most flavorful. I am not a big drinker, I wanted to taste the house made flavors but I did notice an extensive craft cocktail menu along with a few tap handles for the beer guys. I received a gift card to Up North for the expressed purpose of selecting a couple of bottles of their brandy. When I tried to redeem, the proprietor told me that the law does not allow him to redeem gift cards for bottles so I would have to spend the $50 at the bar. In a compromise, I asked him to refund the card with the promise that I would still purchase brandy. He politely refused, stating it was not his policy. My poor rating is for this business's bad policy. Clearly, it is more important to them to maximize their margin on the gift card than it is to support policy that could have garnered lucrative future business. read more

A nice little corner distillery. They carry local spirits (besides their own) and really seem to enjoy what they do. Lovely mixed drinks (try the sweet heat- with jalapeño, pineapple juice and vodka) or my new favorite "off-menu" item- the Kimlet. We had a birthday party here and it was the first visit for most of us. This place was amazing! The service was inpecable. Hilary and the other guy working there were on top of everything. They got really busy but still managed to get everyone drinks and check in with everyone often. As soon as we walked in she offered the back room to set up food and stuff for the birthday. The drinks were perfectly crafted. I am not a big whiskey fan myself but the bootleg mojito was fresh and great. The atmosphere and great drinks made for a memorable night.
