Unnati is a true artist! She did my mehndi for my engagement party, and I have never been so pleased! She has the most unique designs, a very easygoing and friendly personality, and she was able to do exactly what I asked.. the result was even better than I could have imagined! I wanted my mehndi to look more intricate and festive than my guests, but I didn't want it to be as filled-in or "heavy" as bridal mehndi for an actual wedding, so I explained that to her over the phone and when I first got there. She showed me her designs, and we had a brief discussion about some patterns I liked.. and that was it! I was impressed within the first few minutes of the application. She also told me that she gets her own henna powder from India, makes her own cones so she has the exact control she needs, and only adds eucalyptus oil to the henna mixture (NO CHEMICALS!) so it's not harmful to the skin. Also, the next day (the day of my engagement party), the mehdni was a beautiful dark maroonish-red/brown color. THE most beautiful, richest, darkest mehndi color I've ever had. Everyone at the engagement party was really impressed and wants to get their mehndi done by her for my wedding day. When my parents saw it, they also immediately requested that I book her for my wedding. As soon as I set my wedding date, I'm giving her a call! Side note: I must be honest and say that I almost didn't want to write a review because I selfishly want to keep her all to myself. She's actually really booked throughout the year (she showed me her calendar when I was telling her about wedding dates), so contact her ASAP and preferably well in advance if you want your mehndi done by her. I sent my request of what I would like and within a day or two I received a call from Unnati. I made an appointment for the next day.... I made the long trek from Chicago to Aurora- I had no idea it was this far from where I lived, but I didn't want to cancel as she told me she would be soaking her paste :) She was very meticulous, nice, and welcoming. I let her free style the designs on my right hand and arm, as well as the inside of my left hand. She had the softest voice! She is by appointment only. I was so pleased with her personality and her work that I booked her for my Cupcake Social this July. Her prices vary from $5 to $200+ She even offered to give me the designs she did on my left hand for free! Overall if you want to try it for the first time or it's something you do on a regular basis I would recommend Unnati for your mendhi needs. I have received a lot of conversation, compliments, and interest in the work she did. The color is so crisp and vibrant on my skin tone. She said it would last for a week or so- seems it will last way longer. I will update on how long it lasted. Great experience. I am a very picky girl and this is my first 5 star review.
