This is one of the worse experiences I have experienced especially for a wedding trial! I came into the salon and brought photos of the hair and makeup I wanted. The hair and makeup I wanted was very simple and I will attach the photos below. I am quite upset that I spent $200 on this trial for both hair and make up. I came to the salon with moisturizer and sunscreen, and I let her know that my skin was super sensitive to products. She asked what kind of products I used at home, I told her and she said she knew what they were. Perfect! She then wiped everything off and started applying stuff on to my face. I have been to aestheticians before, and normally they always show the product that they will be applying to my face to make sure I am not allergic to that product. The products she used on my face caused me to breakout the next day, and I have had breakouts ever since. A week later and now my breakouts are slowly dying down. She moved on to my foundation. My foundation was supposed to be an airbrushed foundation. From what I have researched, foundation with an airbrush application was supposed to give me a filtered, smooth look. Instead what I got a THICK, FLAKY, and CAKEY foundation that cracked by the time I got home from the salon. When she applied the eyeshadow on my eyelids, she got it ALL over my original lash extensions. She also attached a few individual lashes to make it "even". However, the lash extensions she applied from the trial was applied very sloppily. She got glue on my left eye, and my left eyelid was stuck when she was done. On top of all that, there were remnants of glue all over my lashes. (I will show photos below). By the end of the evening, I tried to remove the eyeshadow, that she applied, with my lash shampoo. The eyeshadow did not come off and as I scrubbed my eyelids to get the shadow off, some of my lashes came off as well. Because some of the eyelash extensions were missing, my eye lids looked like a lawnmower had cut pieces of a corn field, some lashes long, some missing. I ended up having to remove my extensions because of how terrible it looked. I asked for a simple texture bun for my hair. I definitely did not get what I asked for. My bun was super thick and sloppy, and my hair didn't look anything remotely close to the pictures. It looked like I ordered off of Wish.com. I reached out to the Kristen and notified her what happened. I asked for a refund and she refused to give me my money back. I am beyond upset at this point. Kristen did offered me to come back to get it fixed. Unfortunately, I am too traumatized from the last session and can't pull myself to go back. It is unfair that I presented their AWFUL work I paid for and they're not going to refund what they've done. PLEASE BEWARE when you book with them! Worse experience ever! read more

Wish I could give a 0/5. Me and a girlfriend had appointments at 9am, showed up on time, for a blow out & upstyle with Claudia. My girlfriend was getting her hair done first and around 9:45am, another client arrives and says she has an appointment at 9:45am. After confirming this was true and Claudia over booked herself, Claudia asks US to leave after only 1 of us got our hair done, and come back at 11, so she can do the other girls hair who had the appointment at 9:45am? Like what? Why would we be asked to leave and come back when our appointments were scheduled first, we showed up on time, etc. Overall very bad experience, made appointments a month out, showed up on time, and then got turned away in the middle of the service. My girlfriend went to pay and Claudia said "oh did they not tell you I only take Venmo or Zelle, no cards", seems like something you would mention upon booking or mention anywhere online. I messaged the company on FB and they did refund my girlfriend, which was very nice. read more

Kristen and Aimee did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and it was really a pleasure working with them! I did a trial about 2 months before the wedding, and we nailed down the natural look I was going for (I typically wear minimal makeup). The day of the wedding, they both came to The Herrington. Both Aimee and Kristen were wonderful to have around on my wedding day. They were fun to talk with and so calm/relaxed, even when we got a little behind schedule (they made up time so everything stayed on track). Mostly importantly, Kristen and Aimee really wanted to make sure that I felt happy and confident with my hair and makeup, and were willing to work until things were just right! I felt gorgeous on my wedding day! My mom and bridesmaids loved their hair and makeup as well. read more

Montage Salon & Spa - Makeup by Kristen & Hair by Aimee! - Hair Salons Near Me - Geneva, Illinois

I found Montage through my wedding coordinators at my venue (The Herrington Inn) and I am so thankful! Best recommendation ever! Kristen was truly amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process. She had excellent communication, clear pricing, and she created the perfect schedule for getting ready with my 7 bridesmaids, Mom, and Mother-In-Law on the morning of my wedding. Amy and Kristen did my hair and makeup trials and I was so impressed that after my brief description of what I thought I wanted, they created my perfect wedding look! Everything was so seamless and I am so grateful to them. The day of my wedding, Kristen did all of our makeup and Amy and Julie did our hair. They are all so talented and I highly recommend them! read more

Thanks to Yelp I found this place 2 days before my wedding when my bridesmaid and I decided doing our own makeup for the wedding was a bad idea. Kristin was able to fit us in last minute and did such an amazing job! Everyone complimented our make up and it really enhances the entire look we were going for. I would definitely recommend this place!!! read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! I had such a hard time finding a makeup artist I loved, so I was happy to stumble upon Montage Salon and Spa. Kristen did my makeup for my wedding, as well as my mom's makeup, one of my bridesmaids and one of my sister's. She did an AMAZING job and we were all really impressed. Not only that, but Kristen is honestly so kind and helpful. She was very responsive in emails, offered great advice and was great at listening to what my vision was. Ultimately I was totally in love with my wedding day makeup and can't recommend her enough. And my makeup stayed ON all day/night. Seriously I couldn't believe how good it looked, even at like midnight. read more

Montage Salon & Spa - Loved my makeup! My sister (on the right) had hers done too. So pretty! - Hair Salons Near Me - Geneva, Illinois

You will never find a better aesthetician!! I have been seeing Kristen for about 6 years. Thanks to her relaxing customized facials I have been able to combat excessive dry skin during winter months and clean clear pores during the summer. If you enjoy a relaxing spa treatment I challenge you to try one of her facials in place of a massage - you will be more 'zen' than ever! I also trust Kristen with all of my waxing needs. My eyebrows are well taken care of and as for the 'other' places...let's just say it is way better than shaving. Please check out this cute intimate salon and keep our local small business thriving, I promise you won't be disappointed read more

I go here regularly for cuts and color by CARRIE WILSON. I have been seeing her for almost 5 years now and I've never been disappointed. She is very attentive and strives to cut/color my hair in the way I've requested and will make sure to do a style that works for me. She is well educated and takes many classes and training programs to learn new techniques and trends. read more

I have had facial done at this place based on the fantastic yelp reviews. It wasn't a very exciting experience. I did, like the products she used. The biggest drawback was the uncomfortable headrest for the facial. Also, for the price this place didn't appear as up-scale. With tip and all I walked out with a $100 facial. read more

Carrie Wilson is my stylist, and she rocks! She is always open to giving tips on what would look good, does a wonderful job with the cut and is always right on time. I am so glad I found Carrie because I am very picky when it comes to my hair and she is perfect! read more

I read great reviews about Montage Salon and frantically called Kristen about 6 weeks before my wedding. I previously had a makeup trial with another salon and was not happy with the results, but really wanted my makeup to be professional for my wedding day. Kristen was great and she was able to squeeze me in for a trial that weekend! I was very happy with the trial and she gave me exactly the look I was envisioning. Kristen and Katie came to my house on the morning of my wedding to do my makeup, and also the makeup for my bridesmaids. They all looked great and everyone loved their makeup! I highly recommend both Kristen and Katie; they are very accommodating and will create the look you want! read more

Katie and Kristen were recommended to me by a friend who had them do her makeup and hair for her wedding. I started seeing both of them for regular services before I used them for my wedding. I liked Katie and Kristen from the start! They were professional, yet also personable. I felt comfortable from the very first visit. They did a fabulous job with my bridal party. Katie even kept my younger daughters occupied WHILE she did my hair! Katie and Kristen made us all look beautiful. They are so great to work with. Montage is a great salon with a lovely group of ladies working there. I moved to the area 8 years ago and became a loyal guest of a well known Batavia salon.
