I had an unusual request for Sumeyya. I asked her to do a henna crown for me. I had lost my hair during chemotherapy treatment and wanted to have a henna crown to make something positive out of a very negative experience (the chemo was negative, not the henna). I communicated several times via email before my appointment. Sumeyya is a very sweet young woman. At the appointment, we spent a few minutes discussing what type of design I would like. She has several portfolios to look through. One of the reasons I chose Sumeyya is that she makes her own henna so I know what goes in it. Other henna artists may buy the henna premixed and at that point, you really aren't sure of the ingredients. My beautiful henna crown took her only about 50 minutes. She does it all free hand. I was thrilled when I saw the final result in the mirror. It has been 48 hrs. since the application. The henna has dried and flaked off and I now have the design in a light orange-ish/brown color. Sumeyya is a true artist. Her work it truly extraordinary. I hired Sumeyya to do my sister's bridal mendhi and for the mendhi party. From my first communication to the end of the party, Sumeyya was a true professional. She responded to my requests in a timely manner, and charged a very, very reasonable amount. The henna work she did for the bridal party was the most beautiful I've ever seen. As was the work she did for our guests the mendhi party. All of the guests raved about their designs (several future brides in attendance already planned on hiring her for their events) She worked quickly and efficiently, and was able to create individual designs for all the ladies at the party. The Henna Symeyya uses is fantastic. She adds lavender and tea tree oil, so it smells wonderful when it's being applied. It felt like a spa day. The final color was a wonderful dark dark red that lasted a long time. She also provided us with care instructions that ensured that the designs looked beautiful on the wedding day. She was very professional, quick and efficient, and a pleasure to work with. She listened to our requests, provided sample pictures and was able to create a unique design on the spot that surpassed my expectations. The henna she uses is mixed herself with fresh ingredients and she is very thorough with providing instructions for after-care. The next day, the color was a bit lighter than I thought it should be and I was concerned since it was the day before my wedding. Even though I was skeptical at first, she was right! By my wedding day, the color turned to a deep reddish brown and it was beautiful!
